[[OOC: Bleh! This post wasn't one of my best . . .]]

The sun had sunken towards the horizon while Emma waited for a stroke a wisdom to hit her. Most people would have died of boredom, but Emma maintained her sanity by watching the wispy clouds float by overhead. A rather loud grumble from her stomach finally managed to get her attention away from the sky. "I guess I'm hungry." Emma said aloud. Reaching behind her, she opened her backpack and pulled out a power bar. She ripped open the wrapper and bit into the bar, only to find that it was her least favorite flavor; Cranberry Chocolate. Spitting the chewed up mixture of fruit and chocolate on the ground, Emma wiped her tongue with the back of her hand and jumped down from the tree.

When she landed on the ground, Emma took the letter from her pocket and re-read it, trying to see if there was a clue leading to the warehouse's location embedded in the words. Throwing her hands above her head in exasperation, she walked deeper into the forest, allowing her feet to lead the way. While passing through a small grove, a peculiar shaped object fell from the sky and hit Emma square on the head, causing her to fall over into the mossy floor. "Oww, oww, oww!" Emma exclaimed as she sat up and rubbed her tender cranium. Looking around [which caused extreme dizziness, by the way], she spotted a small oran berry near her feet. I was hit in the head with a berry? Emma thought when she picked up the partially squished fruit, Who would do that, besides me?

Suddenly, a medium sized Pokémon stepped out of the bushes and walked over to Emma. "Chanseyyy!" the Pokémon shouted, holding out an oran berry in its hand. Two things became suddenly clear to Emma; the first was that this Pokémon was the criminal who threw the berry at her head, and the second was that this was a Shiny Chansey. What's a Shiny Pokémon doing out here? I thought the Pokémon League had captured most of the wild ones. Emma thought while she pushed herself off the ground. As Emma stood up, she felt the pokéball hanging from her neck rumble against her skin. Oh no! Sparky must want out! There was a flash of red, and Sparky appeared before her. "Chuu!" cried the little yellow Pokémon. The Chansey smiled and walked up to Sparky, handing her the oran berry that it'd been holding. While Emma stood staring like an idiot, the two Shiny Pokémon commenced a lively conversation which ended with both Pokémon running off into the woods.

"Wha? Wait!" cried Emma as she bolted after the Pokémon. It was a very common thing for Emma to run off randomly, but Sparky never ever did. "Can't you two slow down?! Running is not my thing, ya know!" she called to the Pokémon that were barely visible through the thick brush. Apparently, neither Pokémon cared about Emma's lack of running skills. "Pichu!" cried Sparky from ahead. It was like she was telling Emma to stop complaining and just follow them. They all ran for what seemed like forever, until quite suddenly, the two Pokémon in front came to a halt. Of course, Emma didn't see them stop, as she was a ways behind, so when she raced into the clearing, she had to backpedal hard in order to keep herself from falling over. "Why you…" Emma panted, "If you ever go on a merry run like that again, I shall force you to eat cabbage for the rest of your life!" Sparky quivered at the mention of her most hated food, but she had more important things to worry about at the moment. "Chuu!" Sparky said, lifting her hand and pointing to something in front of her.

Emma looked up and was surprised to see the warehouse looming directly in front of her. We're here? Emma gasped, Then that means the Chansey purposely came out and lead us here. Is ChanseyNJ's Pokémon then? A tugging on her jeans pulled Emma towards the warehouse while she continued to think. Then, when she blinked, Emma saw that she was inside the large building. Looking around, she saw that there were two boys and a pink haired woman in a giant room full of various machines and hammocks. As she focused on the pink haired woman, she was surprised to see a Nurse Joy. Nurse Joy is NJ! She realized, But wait, isn't she an employee of the Pokémon League?

"Welcome Emma." Nurse Joy said once she noticed the teenage girl standing by the door, "I'm glad you made it here safely. The Pokémon League has been sending out extra patrols lately, and I was worried that someone might get caught." Emma walked over towards Nurse Joy and the two boys, who happened to have Shiny Pokémon with them. So there are more of us…? Emma wondered. Sparky jumped up onto Emma's shoulder and stared at the Shiny Charmander and Snorunt curiously. "Chuu?"

Well, this had turned out to be a pretty interesting day, to say the least.

"Cherrygrove City!"

K.R. quickly opened his eyes and saw that he was at the bus station in Cherrygrove. K.R. got off of the bus and left the station, the boy looked around and found a path leading out of the city. As K.R. was on his way down through the forest, a white light shot out from his side.

"Shu...Shuppet!" said Shuppet as he looked around the dark forest and happily floated around.

"Shuppet, get back in your pokeball." said K.R.

"Shuppet!" Yelled Shuppet in disagreement

"Its for your own good." said K.R.

As K.R. reached for his pokeball, Shuppet quickly zoomed off

As K.R. ran through the thick brush, he frantically searched for Shuppet after about twenty minutes of searching, he came across another thick bush and pushed his way through it, K.R. then saw what appeared to be a green Chansey and Shuppet was floating around in circles above Chansey's head. Chansey then began walking towards more trees. K.R. quickly followed behind. And was soon lead to a large warehouse. K.R. followed Chansey inside and saw Nurse Joy and a couple of other trainers and they all had something in common with K.R., they all had shiny pokemon! K.R. also saw many machines as well as hammocks.

Shuppet then began to float around in circles above the other trainers and pokemon's heads as K.R. just stood there in disbelief.

Having had his explanation (if you could call it that) interrupted twice by new coming trainers, Ben started for a third time.

"Okay well from what Nurse Joy has told me so far, she's abandoned her job at the Cherrygrove pokemon centre in order to help us protect our pokemon. Her reasoning for doing so seems to be the same as ours..." he said, motioning towards the green Chansey standing by the door, "She also has a plan for us to travel around the region saving all of the shiny pokemon we can... but I'm not exactly sure how we can do that..."

He looked over at Nurse Joy, signifying he wanted her to take over the explanation. She nodded and stepped forwards, motioning towards the large machine lined up against the back wall...

"Well, a friend of mine came and set these machines up for me last week. They are usually used by the police to listen in on criminal's telephone conversations... but we're going to use it to listen in on the police! Using the inforamtion we gather from these machines we canA friend of mine came and set these machines up for me last week. They are used by the police to listen in on criminal's telephone conversations. We're going to use it to listen in on the police! Using the information we get we can save all of the shiny pokemon left in the wild from capture!"

"So you want us to be some sort of protection group," asked Ben slowly, "Like a rebellion against the pokemon league?"

"Well yes I guess so," said Nurse Joy, "What do you think?"

She looked over at all of the young trainers sitting in front of her, waiting for a reaction...

"I'm still not sure, but if the kid says so then I'm in," Leo replied with his usually cheery attitude and while placing a hand on Ben's shoulder.

He then ushered Marie to his side who wobbled to him.

"My name is Leo or at least that is what I'd perfer to be called. This is my "shiny," Marie the Snorunt. I originally was born and raised in Mahogany Town, but when I recieved the letter I had been camping outside Violet Town. Marie was kept in my house because of my father's work. I think he might have been a league official, but he hasn't visited in over a year so I think I'm safe from him. Now who are you? If we're working together then it might be useful to know each other," he said to his other companions.

Marie at this time had also decided to introduce herself. She approached a center between the rest of the pokemon and muttered something in the pokemon language.

The police officer blinked in sudden surprise at Niki's sudden appearance. "Um, yeah," he said. Smiling kindly, he pointed towards a blue building. "That's the pokemart right over there." Niki smiled and nodded.

"Thank you officer," she said. She paused before heading for the forest. "Um, if you don't mind me asking, why are all the police here?" she asked. She tilted her head, ready to listen to the cop's story.

"Well, we're all here because of the rumors of there being shiny pokemon left in the region," he said. He looked at her curiously. "You don't happen to have any now, do you?" Niki instantly became nervous, but kept her voice steady.

"No sir. I sure don't." She never missed a beat of confidence. He smiled at her and winked. "Nah, I didn't think so. Run along kid, and watch for those beedrill!."

Niki nodded and with a quick wave ran over to the pokemart. She stepped inside, spending just enough time inside to convince the police officer that she wasn't lying. She went ahead and bought an antidote, just to prove she wasn't fibbing. Once she slipped her purchase into her bag, she slipped out the front door and headed right for the forest.

The woods before cherrygrove went as smoothly as the route before Violet. Niki quickly headed through the city, smiling and nodding politely to the citizens of the small town. She got through it all without a hitch, and before long was in the woods again, this time searching for the warehouse.

"It's gotta be here somewhere," she said, keeping her bright blue eyes peeled for any sign of a structure. Finally, buried deep in the forest, she spotted an old building, very well concealed. She took a deep breath and looked back at her letter.

"I sure hope this is it," she said. She sighed and stepped foreward. Knocking three times on the wooden door, she stood patiently awaiting someone to answer.

(OOC: Sorry this is so short guys, I'll put a much fuller post up next time)

Leo looked over to Ben, who took this as a sign that he wanted Ben to speak next. Ben took a deep breath, before stepping forward nervously.

"Okay hey guys my names Ben, and this is my pokémon Charmander," he said motioning towards his golden lizard. As he did this, Charmander puffed his chest out and folded his arms in an attempt to look impressive.

Ben couldn't help but laugh a little before continuing, "Well I'm from Cherrygrove City, so obviously it wasn't too far for me to travel to get here. Obviously I'm here for the same reason as all of you guys.... to protect my shiny pokémon."

He looked over at Nurse Joy before continuing, "With this in mind, I think we should help Nurse Joy in protecting all of the shiny pokémon... I mean if we don't they'll be taken into captivity, and I don;t think any of us want to see that..."

K.R. looked around and saw that everybody was waiting for him to introduce himself.

"My name is Keiku Reishu, I was originally from Celadon City where I lived until i wa snine. My family then moved to Goldenrod, which until recently was where I have been living for the last five years. This is my partner, Shuppet and as you can see of course, he is teal while normally a shuppet is blackish-gray."

K.R. then took out a cigarette and lit it. As K.R. inhaled some smoke and released it. He figured he could go outside and smoke it. As he was walking away, he stopped and said,

"Oh, and please...call me K.R."

As K.R. was walking outside with his cigarette, he heard a loud knock on the door. As he was walking towards the door, he dropped his cigarette. K.R. then slammed his shoe on the cigarette and grounded it out. Shuppet then floated over towards K.R. and followed him from behind. As K.R. got to the door, he opened it and saw a girl standing there. She was actually very pretty. She had long blonde hair which reached down to her shoulders and pretty yet worried blue eyes. She wore a white tank top and a red flaring skirt, which greatly complimented her hourglass figure.

K.R. smirked and saod, "What's up?"

Shuppet floated in front of K.R. and saw that besde the girl was a silver-colored Eevee.

"Shuppet Shuppet Shupet Shppet." said Shuppet

K.R. looked at Shuppet and wondered what he was aying to the other pokemon.

Chip groaned as he stepped off the bus stop in Cherrygrove city. Having spent the last five hours on an uncomfortable bus seat, and an hour before that on a ferry, his joints were cracking loudly as he stretched. As he raised his arms above his head, yawning loudly, a small brown furball with a light orange snout. He grinned as he looked down at it. After all, Pip might not have enjoyed having his fur dyed and it would probably wash out the first time it rained, and he colour wasn't quite right, and his nose was still the wrong colour...but at a glance, nobody would think he was a shiny. And that was kinda the point. Still, Uncle Rick hadn't been too pleased about the massive brown mess of hair-dye in the bathroom.

Anyway, he had more important stuff to be concentrating on right now. Like where the hell this warehouse he was meant to be going to. Pulling the now-crumpled note out of his pocket, Chip scanned it one more time to see if there were any clues.

Dear Trainer,

I know you have a special Pokémon who is in need of some help. I can offer you this help. I can offer you shelter and food. I will be waiting for you in a warehouse located in the woods surrounding Cherrygrove City and Route 29. If you are interested in receiving my help, please meet me here.

NJ

Nothing. "The woods surrounding Cherrygrove City and Route 29"? Where in the woods? They weren't exactly small. Sighing, Chip nudged Pip with his foot. The little Swinub looked up, then hurried after him as he walked off the road and into the thick, gloomy woods that surrounded the western edge of the city. A few minutes later, Chip was rather predictably lost. Glancing down at Pip, he noticed the small animal was getting rather worn out by his journey through the undergrowth - his stubby legs kept tripping and his thick fur was getting caught on brambles. Bending down, he scooped up Pip, grinning as the Swinub nestled into his arms.

"Alright," he whispered, partly to himself and partly to Pip, "Where the hell is this warehouse?"

"Row, fearow!" Chip looked up. A large bird was nestled in the braches, glaring at him down its long, wicked-looking beak. He gulped nervously. Getting attacked by a giant, dangerous bird wasn't exactly going to help matters. With a huge, fluttering leap, the Fearow hopped down onto one of the lower branches, directly in front of Chip. It poked him, then glanced off in a direction to the left, jabbing that way with its wing. Flapping forwards, it glanced back and beckoned to Chip to follow, before leaping into the air again, making slow but steady progress through the thick trees. Chip raised an eyebrow, then shook his head and ran after the huge flapping bird.

Two minutes later, Chip slowed to a halt in a small clearing, dropped Pip to the floor and collapsed against a tree, breathing heavily. A few feet ahead, the Fearow was sitting on a branch, not even slightly tired. Turning, it jabbed into the clearing with its beak. Chip nodded wordlessly, then straightened up and slowly walked forwards towards the building inexplicably hidden in the middle of a forest - a huge warehouse. Staring around, Chip saw the door, where two people were standing next to it - a short blonde girl and a taller guy who looked like some kind of punk rocker, with blue hair and a skull emblazoned on his shirt. As he neared them, he noticed two Pokémon as well - a silvery Eevee and a bright blue Shuppet. Looked like these noobs hadn't thought to camouflage their Pokémon. Still, if they had shiny Pokémon, they were allies.

"Hey!" he called," walking over to them, "I'm looking for Nurse Joy!"

Niki smiled politely at the boy before her. At first glance he looked like someone who you would never want to cross in the wrong way. He wore a tight black t shirt and black jeans, silver earrings, had spikes on his wrist and from where Niki stood what looked like a tattoo on his right arm. But Niki never held anyone to sterotypes. She knew that looks didn't always reflect the inner persona of a person. And there was something about him, maybe in his voice, maybe in his emerald eyes, that made her feel somehow a lot calmer.

The boy's piercing green eyes reflected the worried look in her own, and when she noticed the Shuppet hovering near her Eevee, she knew his concerns had to be similar to hers.

"Eevee!" Efah said to the ghost type pokemon. The silver fox like pokemon smiled at the Shuppet, making Niki feel even better about the situation.

Niki smiled again and spoke to the boy. "I'm looking for someone with the initials NJ," she said, her soft voice flowing calmly from her lips. Seeing that the trainer also posessed a shiny pokemon, she knew it must be safe to interact with him. She smiled again, brushing back a lock of blonde hair that had fallen into her eyes. She was about to introduce herself, when she heard someone calling behind her. She turned to see a boy in a black cap rushing over to them, a swinub close on his heels. "Nurse Joy?" she repeated, not sure why a boy was rushing over to a warehouse in search for the pokemon nurse. Then the letter came back to her mind. NJ, she thought to herself. It must mean Nurse Joy!

Chip raised an eyebrow at the girl. Had she really not figured out what NJ could stand for? Of course, he wasn't sure that the initials did stand for Nurse Joy, but it made sense, didn't it?

"Yeah, I'm guessing that's who we're looking for," he answered, looking pointedly at the door, "Is sh-"

"Row, row!" Chip flinched as the large bird's cacophonous hooting interrupted him for the second time that day. He glared up at it, sitting nestled in the crook of a branch, as it jabbed pointedly at the warehouse. Inside.

"Yeah, yeah, alright," he grumbled, turning back to the girl.

"You should, um, probably get inside with your Eevee," he mumbled, thoug he wasn't sure if she'd heard.

Niki nodded politely at the boy in the baseball cap. "Alright," she said, peeking around the boy with the spiky hair to look into the warehouse. The difference in lighting between the outside and the warehouse didn't allow her to see much, but she could see a bunch of lit-up machines and a few beds. Her stomach churned inside her; she wasn't quite sure if she should go inside or not. But the safety of Efah depended on her, and she wasn't about to give up on what could possibly be their only hope.

As Niki debated on whether or not to enter the warehouse, Efah was nosing around the other shiny pokemon. It surprised Niki; Efah usually kept to herself when it came to being around others. But maybe it was the fact that there were other shiny pokemon around her. Maybe it made her feel safe.

Eevee, ee,", the silver colored pokemon said, walking curiously over to the Shuppet. She smiled at the hovering ghost, a happy look crossing her face.

As Niki laid eyes on Efah's smiling face, she knew that this had to be exactly what the letter said, a final safe haven for the shiny pokemon. She stood up straight and lifted her head, a determined and brave look shining in her bright blue eyes. She ran one last nervous hand through her long blond hair, until the final hints of nervousness faded from her smile.

Chip grinned as he stepped forwards into the warehouse. Beds lined the walls like an army dormitory and machines beeped and whirred in the corner. In the middle of the huge room, Chip could see a red haired woman - presumably the Nurse Joy - and a few other trainers, with shiny Pokémon in their arms and at their feet. One of them, a boy standing next to a golden Charmander seemed to be making an introduction to the others.

"Well I'm from Cherrygrove City, so obviously it wasn't too far for me to travel to get here. Obviously I'm here for the same reason as all of you guys.... to protect my shiny Pokémon. With this in mind, I think we should help Nurse Joy in protecting all of the shiny Pokémon... I mean, if we don't they'll be taken into captivity, and I don't think any of us want to see that..."

"Hey!" Chip called over to the others as the boy finished, Pip hiding a little behind his feet, "I guess you must be the other trainers...My name's Chip, and this is Pip, my Swinub. He's normally kinda silver, but I though dyeing his fur might help with the disguise..." Chip glanced at the other Pokémon, all of which would stick out like a sore thumb.

"You might wanna do something similar, if you can. It's not a perfect disguise, but if the League's after our Pokémon, we need to hide them. And the last spot anyone will expect them to be is out in the open where anyone can see...Anyway, I heard what you said and, well, I guess I'm in."

Ben looked down at his Charmander, 'Chip' was right... he did stick out like a sore thumb.

"You're absolutely right Chip!" said Nurse Joy from Ben's right, "You obviously can't use your shiny pokemon out in the wild... that would be reckless. I thought you might be able to catch a pokemon each from these woods..."

"What makes these woods so safe?" Ben asked.

"Well with the Route leading directly round them, very few trainers actually venture into these woods." Nurse Joy replied, "Chansey has been walking around these woods for weeks and hasn't been seen yet, so I think they are fairly safe..."

Ben nodded his head, if a green Chansey could walk freely on it's own around the woods then him and Charmander would probably be okay.

"Anyway," Nurse Joy continued, "I have a few pokeball's here, enough for one each... and I've seen a few different types of pokemon running around since I've been here. If you all caught a non-shiny pokeon each, it would make battling in the wild much easier..."

"Wait, wait battling?" Ben blurted out.

"Well yes, the pokemon league officials won't take too kindly to you trying to take their target..."

Ben nodded again... he hadn't thought of that.

Nurse Joy looked up at the trainers, "So, what do you think?"

(OOC: Please see OOC thread for what pokemon are available for capture :))

Chip nodded, stepping forwards as Nurse Joy offered up a handful of Pokéballs. She was right - Pip might be disguised now, but he couldn't keep dying his fur while he was on the run and it wasn't a perfect disguise - what happened if he was caught in the rain and it all washed off? Taking one of the Pokéballs, he thanked Nurse Joy and glanced over at the boy with the golden Charmander.

"So, do you know what sort of Pokémon we can find around here? All I saw on the journey was Nurse Joy's Fearow." Chip bit his lip as he realised what this meant. If all the wood contained was Sentret and Pidgey, then that would be all he had to fight the league and these battles could go from dangerous to downright suicidal.

K.R. looked at the girl and said, "My name is Keiku Reishu, but please call me K.R. for short. Nurse Joy is obviously the one you are looking for, but judging by the look on your face, I think you've already figured out what NJ stood for."

K.R. turned his head just and time and heard what Nurse Joy said about cathcing pokemon in the forests. K.R. figured it would be a good idea to do so. He left the doorway and left Shuppet, who was still apparently talking to the girl's Eevee and went over to where the pokeballs were and grabbed one. He then sat down on the bed and waited for the others to grab their pokeballs. Shuppet then floated towards K.R. and saw the pokeball in his hand.

"Shuppet..we're going to catch a new pokemon." said K.R.

"Shuppet! Shuppet! Shuppet! said Shuppet happily as he floated aroung K.R.'s head in circles

Shuppet, eventually grew tired of waiting and quickly floated out of the warehouse and into the forest.

"Wait Shuppet, come back here!" yelled K.R. as he followed Shuppet out of the door.

Shuppet kept floating through the trees as K.R. was tailing him close behind. K.R. then noticed that Shuppet came to a stop. When K.R. finally came up to him, he saw that Shuppet was hovering over a pokemon.

"Shuppet! Shuppet!" said Shuppet happily

K.R. then realised that the pokemon Shuppet was hovering over was a Shinx.

"It's a Shinx!" exclaimed K.R.

"Shinx!" growled Shinx as sparks began to form around its fur.

"All right Shuppet, get ready for battle." said K.R.

Niki smiled at the boy, who rushed off before she had a chance to introduce herself. "Alright Efah, ready to-" she looked at her feet, expecting to see the silver eevee, but gasped in surprise when she found she wasn't there. Panicking, she looked into the warehouse to see the eevee had already made herself at home. Niki hurried after her, pausing just inside the room as a red haired woman spoke. Judging by her soft voice, Niki instantly knew it was Nurse Joy.

She had walked in just in time to hear Joy speak about catching a new pokemon. Niki noticed the boy she had ran into earlier with the baseball hat, and looking around she spotted several others. Her eye's widened in strange surprise as she noticed they all had shiny pokemon, just like she and K.R. did.

Niki waited as the boy with the swinub spoke about what kind of pokemon were in the area around them before she spoke up.

"I'm sorry to interupt," she said, her soft voice echoing slightly off the walls of the warehouse. "My name is Niki, and this is Efah, my eevee." Efah smiled at all the other pokemon, taking Niki again by surprise. Her usually timid eevee was turning into quite the social butterfly.

Niki walked over to the pokeballs and picked one up in her hand. She clenched her delicate hand around it, taking in the feel of the cold metal.

"Well, Efah, shall we see what we can find in the forest to add to our team?" she asked her eevee, the excitement of possibly capturing another pokemon obviously showing in her tone of voice. Ee!!" the silver fox pokemon replied excitedly. Niki grinned, and began to head for the forest once more.
