Sorry to go so far back in the thread. But one thing about chaining. It can't work as much as people say it does. Most of the Pokemon worth getting shiny, roam where Floatzel are, and Floatzel always break chains. I do not thing hacking shinies with AR is considered bad, I don't think cloning or item hacking is bad either. Hacking an item to get you the god of all pokemon, which you can't even use in the battle tower, or most fights because of people not wanting ubers. I agree with BOYBOY on this whole issue. Shiny pokemon are nothing but misscolored pokemon, and most of the shiny pokemon you find have crappy natures anyway.
 
Do you even need to ask if that is cheating?! Why don't you ask my friend and his 200-odd Action Replay shinies if that's cheating?!

...sorry. I get a little mad when it comes to Action Replay stuff.

Sigh, I give up on this issue. Obviously those of you saying that AR-shiny catching is OK don't have much integrity. Pokemon these days have become something that people can collect, and hacking to get rare collectables is like stealing rare collectables. Obviously Pokemon aren't going to triple in value or something like that, but it's still nice to have teh feeling that you have a collection that wasn't cheated to get. That's where I will leave my opinion on this matter.
 
i 100% agree! just like I THINK cloning is CHEATING ALSO because you arent getting it the right way!, since that is basically what you guys are basically saying
 
i think that cloning is just retarted i would never do it just cuz i could raise a better poke than just cloning one but i guess if ur into that i dont really think its cheatin either...thanks hauntermaster for agreeing with me
 
If I wanted to clone, I'd have an army of level 100 EV trained Houndooms. Do I have this army? No. Would I like this army? Very much so, but I'm not gonna clone my Houndoom.

However, need I remind everyone that the thread is about Action Replay shinies, not cloning?
 
yea i feel u wolfie with the "value feelin" on pokemon but i look them at a battle standpoint they dont alter stats in anyway or learn moves that they shouldnt they just look koo...some of them lol others just look straight carebear lookin haha

:\ I don't think anybody was talking about cloning in this topic.

I didn't put my own opinion in my last post so I'll do it now. Using an AR to change the chances of encountering a Pokemon in the wild or through hatching an egg from 8192 to 1 is cheating. I don't mind if you keep it in your game but once you start trading hacked shiny Pokemon then I will have not problem labeling you a hacker. I view trading hacked shiny Pokemon like selling counterfeit items, pirated movies, etc.

Integrity? Me and you are 17 years old, and we are fighting about Pokemon, pretty, shiny Pokemon. How much integrity do you have now, eh? Now think of it this way:

You are a 27 year old guy, you have a nice apartment in a nice town outside of a nice city. And you get the chance of robbing a jewelry store, you wouldn't do that, of course. But putting in a series of numbers to make an electronic sprite sparkle? Thats bad? I have one hacked Pokemon in my game as far as I know, and that's the level 5 Mew I tested the GTS with, which just got released. I would much rather have a box full of shiny Pokemon and get away with it, then have a case of diamonds and get sent to prison.

I'm gonna jump in here and ask a question. All my shinies I recieved through trading and I have mad respect for all the shiny hunters who dedicate their time to actually finding shinies. My question is, these people with like 40 different shinies, do they actually go out and find them all because that is amazing considering the chances. No one will answer my question and I was just wondering because I always thought they were recieved through a cheating device with the chances. Im also not accusing anyone of cheating I just think these people are crazy lucky if they actually have found them all because I've spent tons of time chaining and soft reseting haven't found one yet.

Ok, obviously this isn't a case of getting sent to prison or something, but I just think that if you are an honest person in life that you shouldn't feel the need to cheat. I myself try not to cheat or cut corners and to do everything the right way, so that I don't end up feeling guilty about it later. I guess it makes me stupid if my conscience extends to something as trivial as Pokemon, but that's just me, I don't like to cheat.

I'm glad to see some purity left in the world, but dude, come on. Lighten up, you aren't cheating, I'm not cheating. I am just saying that for a person like me, if I had an Action Replay, using the shiny code is not a bad thing. I wouldn't be caught dead trading them. But just for the sake of having them. It's easier for the "good guys" us "bad guys" never get anything, so we make it artificially. Like shiny Pokemon. Take for example, art. I can't draw to save my life. But Photoshop helped me out there, look at my sig, I made that, aragorn made the Lucario though.
 
i respect that but what i dont like is be labled a "hacker" just cuz i got shiny poke usin the AR its not like a got poke with max stats or moves and abilities they shouldnt even have

true, i do that but not in like a pokemon battle with pokesav there is a site where you DL legit pokemon so thats were i get my legit pokemon.
 
I've harbored an intense hatred for the Action Replay ever since I first played Metroid Prime: Hunters on wi-fi. But that's beside the point.

If I can spend 2 years to gather 6 rather mediocre shinies, then I'm obviously going to be angry if someone decides "Hey, let's use an Action Replay to get 200 shinies in one night!"
