3rd Gen Shiny Pokemon Discussion

Man...i havent even encountered a shiney in a loooooonng time only when i first got my sapphire my mudkip was a shiney and after playing about 6 months beating the elite over and over again i got bored and reseted now im always prepared for one,40 ultra balls a level 10,20,and 30 pokemon just to match up the level with the shiney to make sure i dont kill it
 
I was playing at a friend of mine's hack, and guess what, the first pok?mon (except Poochyena) that appeared, was a shiny Squirtle.
Obviously, I catched it!

And in my Ruby, I chose Mudkip (as usual) and guess what? It was a shiny Mudkip! It's now a shiny Marshtomp, so, total shinys caught: 2! ;)

He used mine, cos he didnt hav 1. i had only 6 b4 i used AR cos, well, same reason as Goldy here. but i know where to find all shinies.

Yep, when it transforms, it looks exactly the same like the pokemon u chose it to transform into, but in shiny form, but I think Horsea looked like a normal 1, Ill have to check how it looks like in shiny form tho...
 
Just a question, can you breed a ditto?

Ooh, that's gotta be hard... Maybe you should try to hatch one instead?
 
You can Ditto breed with every poke except legendaries.This includes genderless pokes.
 
No.I forgot to mention baby pokes can't be bred until they reach a higher stage of
evolution.

Okay, here's the sitch: I'm restarting my game in Ruby, and I wanna try to get a shiny starter. I'm really determined this time (I only gave up after three hours last time, lol), so I don't wanna hear how ridiculously stupid it is, and how N00b1$h I'm being. :P I just have a question, and it's a doozie. This is for any of you who've had the fortune to get a shiny starter in Ruby or Sapphire:

When you put the cursor on the Pokemon, did it have a different color in the preview pic? Or was it just a preset image, and gave no indication of your pokemon's er... shininess? If any of you have caught a shiny starter, please try to remember... I'm curious to know if I'll be able to tell before I actually engage that stupid Poochyena in battle, lol.
 
On Sapphire i caught a shiny Zigzagoon, then afterwards i caught a shiny Ectrike. Just pure luck. Sadly, i never caught any shinies after that. *sniff*
 
One of the shinies I caught was Articuno! I thought my game was broken, there must have been a glitch in my game, but I never cheated on my Emerald...
 
I have been hunting down a shiny Rayquaza since ruby and sapphire came out and still no luck but I won't stop until get one or til the game stops working which ever comes first
 
I've noticed that for some reason, Emerald has been causing "Shiny-mania", owners are reporting more Shiny pokemon in the game.
