2nd Gen shiny pokemon from pokemon red!

    well i was giving the last 37 pokemon from red to gold to complete the pokedex when i traded my hypno over it was a shiny just like the one i caught on the way to skool in the car 1 year before lol but i never new this could happen anyone else experianced this?
     
    Pokemon in R/B/Y have the same chance of being shiny as G/S/C pokes, you just don't notice the difference til you trade them over. You can use this as a glitch to your advantage to get a Shiny Ditto though =)

    yh i have a blue ditto its kinda cool not as good as i though it would be though so never mind...

    It all matters on the EV/IV's(not sure) so if you trade a pokemon from GS to RBY and then the same pokemon from RBY to GS it still mantains its shiny stat.So if a pokemon from RBY has the stat that makes pokemon shiny in GSC and you trade it over to GSC,it will be shiny.

    i dont think thats right about the Ev/IV`s and i dont think shiny is a stat so thats a bit wrong other than that its right tho...

    I've never had a shiny ditto. Does it turn to the shiny form of the pokemon when you transform.

    no i dont think so not unless the pokemon is actually shiny never tried tho now im really curious
     
    That's not the point of a Shiny Ditto. Breeding with it is.

    1/64 chance of the baby being shiny. Since in this game, shininess is IV related, the parent passes down IVs. Took a month or so, but I hatched a Shiny Eevee, and cloned it for all 6 forms
     
    There are certain steps to getting a blue ditto, if i remember correctly, and you had to do something with the red gyarados, right?

    And, this happened to me too besides the blue ditto, i traded my Weezing over and it was shiny.
     
    Send it to Red/Blue/Yellow, teach it Mimic, fight wild Ditto, Mimic his Transform, keep transforming into each other a few times, then catch it (Best to just use Master Ball)

    Trade it over, it be shiny

    Breed with it, since it can breed with just about every breedable pokemon, and you have 1/64 chance of getting just about any shiny you could want
     
    Glitch...

    It was actually my fault. I had my ditto, I went into the grass to see if you transform into a shiny pokemon if you encounter one. I ran into another ditto, i battled it & used the move transform... And it actually transformed.. Into a ditto of course...
