my friend yesterday managed to get a shiny golbat after he used a max repel.

another friend did this a got a shiny azuraril.

another friend said after u use the max repel the next pokemon u see is either a rare pokemon or a shiney.

    is this true?

Repels(any)only work if your first pokemon's level is hgigher than the level of the pokemons from the route/cave you are.
It was just very good luck.
P.S. The only pkmn that apear even with the Repel are the runners(Entei, Raikou, Suicune, Latias, Latios, Mesprit & Cresselia)

ok thanks for the help ram

Unless you're on DP, then PokeRadar Pokemon show up. Which how a lot of people get shinies.

That's just pure luck that they got shinies after using Repels. A player has 1 chance in 8192 that the Pokemon they encountered is going to be a shiny.

And to answer this thread's title's question, shiny Pokemon only made their first appearance in GSC. RBYG didn't have shiny Pokemon because it was made for the Gameboy, so everything was black and white, and if you played it on the Gameboy Color, everything would be tinted the color of the game's name. So if you played Pokemon Blue, everything would have a slight blue tint to it, even Pokemon, so no shiny Pokemon.

never seen that happen before but it is really lucky.

Ummh, If you played on gameboy color every area had a new color (ofcourse some had the same but you would never change route/area without change color) but everything on the map was in the same color.

but GBC games had horrible coloring, but they made the coloring better on GSC. Look at the sprites off RBYG to GSC you'll see why they made shinies there
