Uh, Pokemon has always been a saturday kid show, but yes, i miss the old dub.

I know....if I ever find any of the old VHS or any of the episodes on DVD, i do what I can to get them, even stooping so low as to beg my mom for money- which is something I don't normally do. I like how a Pokemon could get beat to death, or how humans could die....you know, without all the kiddie stuff it has now. I think its like that now mainly because the younger generation is taught to be mindless drones and not think for themselves, getting people to do everything for them....so sad.

*sighs* Okay, rant....speech....thing over xD
 
I doubt we will ever see Ash with someone he's only 10, and is too focused on becoming a Pokémon Master, (wow a 10 year old thats lasted this long without getting bored of something) however i think if they show an episode based 10 or so years in the future or something they'll show him with Misty if anyone because she is the most expected choice, you could tell there feelings where more of than just friendship in the last episode of Johto, that and the writes in the series don't likes surprises.

Yes, but I mean like....the COOL Saturday morning shows (which 4kids has now officially seen to it that none of these exist anymore.) Its just so.....ew now, and back then it was awesome, and you could watch it and not be ashamed to do so. I pray everytime I watch it that they dont do something totally immature and kid-like. Get what I'm saying now....sort of?

uh, I don't think Ash is ten anymore the show has been saying he's 12 since johto. But I think maybe by now he should be at least 15.

It is, and always has been, aimed at children. And the games. That's not to say older people can't enjoy it, but it is obviously marketed towards children.
 
not the japanese version, the japanese version is for ages 13 and over
 
The Japanese version is also aimed at children. There have been some banned episodes in the US, but that's because Japan just have different standards over what is acceptable. There aren't any edits anymore (although none of the edits 4Kids did was nothing to do with children not being mature enough to see it o.O)

Now don't think I'm flamming you or anything....it does sound like it at first, but I mean no harm by it. But yes, I think if people's mentallity would go back to how it used to and relaize Pokemon is not just for kids, Ash MIGHT mature and might look at Misty and think what any kid his age would think:

Yep as others have said, it's always been a kids show. Was then and still is now. Only difference is that you have grown up now and Pokemon isn't as cool as it was 7 years ago hence why you're struggling to get into the anime nowadays.

As for the original question I'm not sure if really is a correct answer. Apart from episode nine, school of hard knocks, Ash hasn't shown any interest in girls at all. I also believe he's the kind of guy who likes all three of them (companions) equally as much as each other and won't put one before the other.

When did Cartoon Network begin dubbing things?

Anyway, I'm suprised that this is still open but to stay on topic: Hikari.

I like all of their cute moments together and, well mainly, because Kasumi will be with Kenji and Haruka will be with Shuu. So Hikari is a default option.

Actually, one of the show's creator is quoted as saying that ageing never happens in the pokemon world so Ash is, and always will be, ten.

and besides, if you look at ash, he's still roughly the same height as dawn, who we know is ten.
 
Ash should be with no one I mean he hangs out with all the girls at least let brock have at least one I mean come on he is suffering back there when ash is meeting all the girls. (brock needs to get in the game and take down ash)
 
Well, I'm an Ash& Misty shipper. But I chose the "Ash only likes Pokemon" option because seriously, the day Ash gets a girlfriend is the day the earth implodes. -__-
