Yeah, for some reason advanceshipping makes sense to me. I don't know why but I think it's because of Ash and May's hair color. As we all know, Ash has black hair and May has brown hair and those two hair colors happen naturally in real life and so seeing them together as a couple just seems natural. I think that's one of the reasons why I prefer advanceshipping over contestshipping. That, and I dislike Drew a substantial amount. This is not to say I'm only an advanceshipper, I'm a pokeshipper and a pearlshipper also.

Yeah, actually, according to https://www.freewebs.com/incompletelove/listaz.htm, it's not called Ashshipping, it's called FightLoveShipping which makes sense... But I would agree with you that it SHOULD be called Ashshipping. LOL!

Not to sound rude but characters would get together over their hair color/height? That sounds pretty shallow, no offense.

Anybody got better reasons for the support of Advanceshipping, or rather, your lsit of shipping hints? I feel like debating with you guys. =]

I'm very fond of Pokeshipping. I admire the chemistry Ash and Misty have. That shows since I run a community for them. xD

At first, these two could easily be mistaken to hate each other due to Misty's harsh criticisms and Ash's naive side but after time, these two have come to become close friends. They still argue, but we all admit that it had gone down. I just find this shipping to make sense not for the reason that they're both main characters or anything but the reason for that they have moments which are tough for the other Ash shippings [with a few exceptions if you count Pikashipping] to rival with.

I don't think anyone can deny the fact that Misty likes Ash. It's been shown early in the episodes that she uses the reason of wanting the repayment of her bike but ends up tagging along with Ash for a different reason. Why is it? Because she was fond of how Ash cared for his pokemon as she stated in Ash Catches a Pokemon. Even the first time Ash captured a pokemon, we all know how his reaction was. He instantly went up to Misty and started making her go around in circles. You might be thinking, "Yeah, so?" I'm pointing that out because the two have a friendship that can't be broken. Ash and Misty never forgot about each other unlike with Advanceshipping. Then again, I could be proven wrong if there's a mention of May, so we'll have to see.

Misty often found herself thinking about whether she could run the gym and referred to her friends in the Japanese version. And we've seen how Ash reacted when she first came over to Hoenn. Sure their arguements tone down, but they still have the playful side. Misty indeed loves to tease Ash no matter what, and Ash plays along. And before anyone says that Misty doesn't care, well, I just find that to be a silly arguement. If she didn't care, then why was she following him for over 200 episodes? I don't think a lot of people are going to tag behind someone for that long.

As for Ash, it's tougher to get a hint from him but I do like how Misty encourages him to do his best in her own way. She's not exactly the type to be a cheerleader like Dawn. [The irony of it all is that people used to refer to her as a cheerleader.] She doesn't exactly always make nice comments like May does. Instead, she just yells at Ash. Example? Take Misty Meets Her Match where Ash was performing poorly using Squirtle against Starmie. Everyone at that point thought he was going to lose the match but then Misty suddenly yelled at him, saying she kows that he could do better than that. That woke Ash up in an instant, retorting back that he knew that and wasn't stupid. If you think about it, if she didn't let Ash realize what was happening, chances are that Ash could have lost that match. So, you see what I mean? She inspires him to improve in her own way unlike the other characters.

And we can't forget about Pokeball Peril. Call me old, but that's an instant gold mine in my eyes. No one can deny the blush they two shared when Team Rocket thought they had eloped. As far as we know, no one [with the clear exception of Giselle back in The School of Hard Knocks] has caused him to blush like that about any girl. You could go ahead and use Melody and Bianca's kiss, but he didn't have much of a reaction. He was shocked, no doubt but o feelings fluttered or anything.

Also, Ash had called Misty cute before. When was that, you ask? That was in March of the Eggsextor Squad. Remember when Misty was wearing the Goldeen outfit? Let me get you exactly what they said:

Misty: At least the crowd is small so nobody can see me..
Ash [off screen]: Misty! Hey, are you guys part of the show?
Pikachu: Pika pika!
Misty *blushing*: W-what are you guys doing here?!
Ash *grinning*: That's a very cute outfit you've got there, Misty.

Did Ash ever tell the other girls they were cute? Nopes. The boy always has a comment every time Misty dresses up. More examples? Coming right up~

Ash *in the crowd*: I can't wait to see Misty!

Ash *refering to the mermaid show*: You were pretty amazing back there!
Misty: Save the sweet talk, Ash. You still owe me a bike.

We can't forget about how Ash wanted to mess with Misty in his ghost form by carrying her and giving her a lift. Hilarious. He hasn't done that with anybody else with the exception of Macey. Oh, and also something recent, too. The Misty lure. He hasn't allowed Dawn to use it, considering how much he cares for it. He just kows that Misty would destroy him if she were to find out.

But that's a very solid argument, even though I prefer Gym and Orange. It's been a while since I've seen an intelligent Pokeshipper.
 
Ash does seem to like Misty and he has been with her the longest of all the other girls. Misty once said that she wants to marry Ash or something suggesting that in an episode where some girl liked Brock and not so much from Brock. It was in the Johto series, like the fourth season or something.
 
I shall say that I'm quite fond of both Pokeshipping, Pearlshipping, Comashipping 'cause it's funny, and partialy Advanceshipping. The relationships that Ash had with Misty and May were very memorable to my heart, and I really loved how they got along. What really inspired me out of all of the ships was Pearlshipping. I loved how both Ash and Dawn have in common, and fighting together against Team Rocket. Having Piplup as an out-of-ball pokemon, kind of gave me a little click inside that there may be something interesting that might happen in the future. i'm not saying it's true, but I can actually dream can I?

I personally don't think that dubbing can be used as proof. There are moments that weren't in the original version, and english dubbing made exist.

Is we want to talk about straight couples, Pearlshipping makes the most sense to me, but I think that Palletshipping is the most evident. He cares more about Gary than anyone else on the show. Then there is the sitting under the stars, the Pokeball halves... you know.

Ah, such an overused line. I suppose you only prefer moments from the original series? Would you know excatly what they said throughout the original? I know that in Gotta Catch Ya Later, they changed things (heck, even the music). That is especailly when it comes to the scene where in the dubbed version, a mini song for Misty plays reflecting scenes only consisted of her and Ash. In the original, Brock and Tracey were included. I suppose that shows something, yes?

It's not that I do not include the original. I show from what I know, but I do admit that Misty lure pretty much shows that she wasn't forgotten. The fact that Ash did not allow Dawn borrow it was surprising to see although it does make me wonder a bit.

But, thanks for the compliment. In that case, tell me why you prefer Gym and Orangeshipping. I'm interested to know.

Oh, that's The Heartbreak of Brock. Classic. I've heard differently in the original version. Misty commented to Ash to image him married and that's what caused his expression. In the dub, she says something more like "Someday we'll be married, too" and Ash nods before realizing what she just said. So yeah, I have to admit that the dubbing changes the lines.

Although I can think of a moment where we can say that Ash was jealous. Do any of you recall Navel Maneuvers? That time when both Ash and Danny reached the top, and Misty reacts happily. This causes Ash to think that she's riunning towards him but she ends up passing him and goes straight to Danny. That weas priceless. I'm curious to know whether he said something like "What about me?" in the original version.

I think you're right about that. Shipping is meant to be an enjoyable thing for a person, making the best they can with two characters and spread it to others. :3

I wasn't saying that everything under Pokeshipping I support in the dub. I was only pointing out moments that implied how much Ash admires to see Misty in a different outfit. One the things I cannot support about the dub is the songs they added like Misty's Song. People go around saying it's true and everything, and I do hand it to the dubbers because it is a sweet/corny song but I don't count that as a hint. There's a lot of Pokeshipping moments that I don't count, but rather, like to point out their friendship. It's not always the wording I like to **** but rather their actions. Like their arguing for instance; it's something I always liked pointing out.

Oooh, in that case, why do you think Pearlshipping makes the most sense? I do Gary and all, but I consider Palletshipping as a strong friendship. Just because you sit down under the stars with anyone doesn't exactly mean you like them in that manner. I just take it as friendship. Right now, I do also take Pokeshipping as a strong friendship, too. Nothing really romantic went on but you just know that their friendship is there and is evident whether you look at the dub or not.
 
He seems to show more caring towards Dawn than he does any other female. and there are "Moments" in their actions. I haven't seen the Japanese version so I can't argue it as strongly as I would like to. But I have been told a lot by others who have seen it.
So right now, I'm going to leave it with Chemistry.
Yes, I see a strong friendship between Ash and Misty. Kind of like a brother/sister thing, but that is all. I can't see a relationship. An by saying that he likes to see her in another outfit, I think that it is pointing out that he remembers she is a girl in another outfit. Like in the swimsuit episode with the cut scene of James and his boobs. XD
With Gary, you don't sit under the stars with someone you don't care about as you said, and they seemed really close in the Shieldon episode. XD.
Any other shippings you like?
 
It may be an overused line but it's true. (:

I like Orange and Gym better simply because I think Misty makes a better couple with the somewhat mature Brock and sweet but clueless Tracey. I've never liked Ash and I really really don't think he'd go well with Misty. Maybe when he grows up, like really grows up the way Gary did. But not now. I just can't see it.

The only Ash shipping I really do like is Pallet, and only with Kanto!Gary. Now he's too mature for Ash for it to be cute.
 
No way. The matureness is what makes it uber cute. We have to remember, Gary is still a kid, and Ash keeps him grounded, lets him just be a kid when he wants to be. Kind of like Gravitation.XD

And you see, I like Orangeshipping, but I was never a Misty fan. I can't see her with Ash, or Brock. But Tracey, he is dumb enough to be with her.

Hmmm, what about the movies? Are they to be considered canon? Some of those movies contained some very intriguing hints like in The Temple of the Sea where Ash and May are swimming together under water and OUT OF NOWHERE Luvdisc show up... Why not Remoraid or Staryu or some other water Pokemon? Not saying that Ash and May may have had feelings for each other but maybe some movie producers/writers were Advanceshippers? LOL! I'm plenty sure some or most staff are shippers of some sort.
