I was wondering about this, i know that they have shown quite a few times that Ash has a keen interest in Riolu/Lucario, and they seem to be favored Pokémon by the writers, and i was wondering what do you think are the chances of Ash getting a Riolu/Lucario at some point in the series, and if you personally think he should?

OH BOY...I can only imagine what a ton of people here on PC are going to say to this...lol...but honestly I think he should get a RIOLU not a lucario (at least not yet anyway) because personally I love RIolu and wouldn't mind seeing it quite often, and he looks cool with one on his side...but other than that, it is basically up to the writers of the anime to give him one or not...

Lucario has had its own movie, and has also been owned by a Gym Leader and supporting character - Sumomo and Gen respectively. Riolu, meanwhile, had its own hour-long special in March of last year. I'm sick of Riolu and Lucario, and I think it would be so horribly clichéd for Satoshi to obtain one. Once we're past DP111 this Thursday I think we'll know whether Satoshi will get one or not.
And honestly, who would you release or send to Ookido? Pikachu is a constant fixture, Hikozaru and Buizel have had far too much character development to be gotten rid of now, Mukubird needs some love soon, Hayashigame has recently evolved, and don't you dare even mention Glion.

Never should happen. It's a terrible idea. He's already got 6 pokémon on his team so it couldn't get on without him "Oaking" anything. Every pokémon he has is from Sinnoh, bar Pikachu of course but we all know that Pikachu won't get Oak'd, so there's no need for another one.

um...may I just add that there is something such as when the egg hatches, Ash will decide on sending Riolu back to prof. oak until he is ready to leave for the Elite four challenge or new Battle Frontier??? he did it with phanpy...but meh it doesn't bother me if Ash gets Riolu or not...its just another pokemon who is now like pikachu in a similar kind of way in for the franchise...

It's his intense connection with Aura, something Riolu/Lucarios can utilize too.

lol...I'm not saying he got a Riolu egg, but IF he did...that's pretty much what he can do...everyone has to remember that the anime can bend a few rules unlike in the games...

Quick_Kid is being careless with his words. He's trying to describe a hypothetical statement but describing it as if it's already happened and we're complaining about Satoshi obtaining a Riolu.

Sooooooo...if he WERE to get a Riolu egg from someone and it were to hatch, then INSTEAD of oaking ANY of his 6 pokemon he has now, he can SEND BACK the hatched riolu, until the writers decide it is needed...it's not that hard to understand really.
but basically, I think he might get one sometime, but then again, he just may not...

You're putting a whole lot of faith into that might not even happen. Anyway, Satoshi had 5 pokémon when he got the egg. Pikachu, Bayleaf, Cyndaquil, Totodile, and Noctowl.

I wouldn't mind ash getting a riolu, just not a lucario as yet...
but I scence I bit of a feud between auraholics and nonauraholics coming along...and I'm tied in the middle...YIKES!

Because of the special ranger 2 parter and that awful movie? Does that mean May should get Manaphy or Phione? Does that mean that Max should come back with a Jirachi? I mean I know Lucario isn't a legendary but still, that doesn't mean he needs to get it.

Don't you think some of you guys are overreacting with this thing? I mean really. Who didn't see this coming? Personally, I don't really care because I'm not the one writing the show. If they want to give him a Riolu or not, who am I to stop them?

Whoops sorry bout that my anti side came out. But i am neutral. While it would seem a good adittion to ash's team his team is fine the way it is and could be quite a powerhouse. And face it. Ash is going to become a pokemon master not guardian. I mean hes too stupid XD
