Should elderly drivers be retested?

I think everyone should be retested every few years, no matter what your age is.

There's no doubt that there are really awful and slow elderly drivers out there but there are also terrible 30 year old drivers too.

In Canada, I always thought that you had to be retested every time you renew your license, but apparently that's not the case \: Excuse my digression from the initial topic, but I just read a couple articles in regards to laws targeting slow drivers, in relation to the perception that older citizens tend to drive relatively slower than younger drivers. Even in my own, unbiased opinion prior to the readings, those who drive slow are the more dangerous individuals based on personal experiences. Often times I will find myself in the passing lane (which I regard as any of lanes other than the right-most) behind a slow driver, forcing me to overtake them in the next right lane, which could confuse other drivers, and create confusion on the roads.

Back on topic to the whole idea that elderly drivers should be retested, I would have to agree on the majority of the previous posters' opinions in that people, regardless of age, should be retested for their license. But to be honest, based on my experiences with elderly drivers on the road, I would prefer them to be taken off completely, as harsh as that sounds.
