Hello, I may be a newbie to the forums but I have a serious question.

I was wondering if I should import from Play-asia.com Pokemon Pearl or Diamond for DS (The Japanese Version)

I am a huge fan of pokemon and I am not wanting to wait until April and I was wondering this...

There are pros and cons to this.

People I'm really sorry if this is a dumb post, but you guys are the ones who like pokemon and can help me out on this decision.

    Pros
I can see all the new pokemon, battle
and a guide on Gamefaqs tells you what they're saying.

    Cons
I couldn't read and enjoy the story
    Battles may be confusing.
    Have to wait until April...

Anyways, I know this is a long post and I am sorry but I just am really in a pickle

Is your decision if you want to imported go ahead. But if you want to hear my advice.I say don't imported just wait,Is only 2 months left so wait.

    Why?
Because you gonna waste money,When you can just wait and you will not understand a letter.like they have "patiences and things will go around"
This only my advice so its your decision.

I really don't know.... because it is 3 months now... and I am really wanting to play it, but I won't understand it, I could have fun, and OW! my head is hurting from every possibility.

I'm kind of just wanting it to battle but I still don't know...

Thanks for your help Ren-Kun, I'll still think about it... but thanks though!

I imported. the battles arnt as confusing as you think because you start to learn what the attacks are. I really am enjoying it. i think you should import.

It depends on whether you want to spend the money. If it was me, I wouldnt import as it comes out in April but I bought it back on the day of the release, in Japan.

If you dont understand it, its probably best not to get the Japanese version. Because otherwise you will find it confusing at some points. Battling is easy, so the main problem for you will probably be the story and what everyone is telling you. Its been almost 4 months since the Jap release, I would probably just wait it out till April.

Hehe. I always laugh when I see people having import problems. :( *shot*

I bought mine at a department store, so I suppose you could tell that I understand the game. :x

Anyways, my advice: Don't import it. Why? 1. You can't understand it. 2. US version comes out in like, 2 months. o.o

I mean I Have imported a game called Naruto Gekitou Ninja Taissen 3 for GCN, but that was a fighting game and didn't really take much understanding...

But if on the items screen if they do show pictures and catching pokemon isn't hard right? I hope it isn't, So...

Most of you guys are like... WAIT IT OUT!!!!!!!
But one of you is like c'mon import!:classic:
    and Ren-Kun is like it's your decision.:\

I'll decide soon, you guys have been a great help to me and I want to thank you all, but I'll see what others think as well:)

I'd say wait it out, esspecially if you want to DS to Ds battle, im pretty sure jap and English versions arnt compatable like that.

I think that you shouldn't because you could wait for it and if you don't know japanese then it's useless (That what I think)

    Well, you guys...

I do have $200 in my bank account and I could spend $55 on Japanese and $35 on the English and still have $110 left...

and since I've been a probably AVID Pokemon gamer I might know all of the controls and A guide on Gamefaqs tells you all the information you need and I probably might know all of the battle symbol's like the element of the attack, (sky blue = ice), also I know that the status effects are by the health bar.

Still I think I might wait it out, seeing I just got Warioware Smooth Moves for Wii yesterday and that probably is gonna tide me over, but with this new information (money in bank) should I import?

I really just want to BATTLE YOU GUYS!

dude you asked everyone the same question. it's up to you if you want to go? if not wait I mean if you REALLY want to go ahead it won't be much longer anyway :] and I imported and im glad it's awesome

I think you shouldnt. I mean its really stupid. Why ruin the experience? Just wait two months because if I were you I wouldnt want to be sitting looking at a website while playing my "portable game".

    Guys.... I know....

EVERYONE Basically is saying wait TWO more months, but people it's THREE!
Jan. to Feb., Feb. to March, March to April! On Monday the 22nd, it will be exactly 3 months before the U.S. Pokemon Diamond and Pearl comes out!

So, when I check Play-asia it was $48.90 and shipping was $2.10 for us, that's only $51.00...... that really isn't bad but I think I will wait, but everyone, it is 3 months, not 2.

Sorry but you guys keep saying 2.

EDIT: You guys I just want to let you know.... I am an impatient guy...

If you really want it, Import it.

I didn't know jack-squat about Japanese and I imported it, and i've beaten the E4 11 times and have obtained EVERY 4th Gen Legendary (Sheimi and Darkrai through glitch, I hacked the Heaven's Pipe (Semi-legit Aruseus), and I have An Illegal Manaphy (Fully hacked))

The reason I told you about those things is to show you that you do not have to be able to read it to understand the game (Although I used A walkthrough for the story XD).

I would be aginest importing because if I were you I would like to read the text of what the characters are saying.

if you cant read Japanese then no way... i mean just import / buy the us version .. its coming out in under 3 months.. and remember February has got 28 days...

I didnt know Japanese till i got DP I learend Katakana becasue of it haha well its your choice

Well, Ledgend of the UnKnOwns, I really don't want the Canadian version, but is it ANY different than the United States one?

Because you know I'm kind of getting shifty, only 2 months for Canadian I thought in North America it is 3! 0_o

I'm still unsure..... because I'm trying to decide... you ALL have been awesome.

I promise I WILL decide soon, and I'll get back to all of you,

Who knows, maybe I'll import the Canadian version if it isn't any different.;)

Edit: -sigh- I'm such a Noob.
