As for the question, I don't see why the game should come out at the same time for the US as Japan since it is made in Japan so it takes a bit of time to translate it and find any additional bugs after the JP version is released.
 
He means do you check on the area you posted your thread. Anyway no cause as eon stated translation takes a bit of time and they always market it somehow someway through other stuff. Like how the new movie with new forms for giratina and shaymin is shopwing late febuary 20-25 days later the game is released. So no they really shouldnt and thats all there is to this.
 
O come on, I agree Japan should get the games first, but a Seven Month lay off between the Japanese release and the North American release! Whats up with that!?!?!?!?!

Super Smash Bros Brawl came out in North America two weeks after the Japanese release. Now I'm not asking for there to be only a two week layoff but can we shorten it to just a couple months. They could've had the North American release of Platinum in time for Christmas and that would have been a 2 or 3 month difference, which I think is fine.

I'm just tired of waiting really, it's not too bad for these third releases but if and/or when 5th gen is released, I do not want to have to wait half a year longer then Japan.

If you're tired of waiting how do you think us Australians and Europeans feel? Majority of our games come several months after the US release.
 
All you have to do is be patient. You don't need the games at the same time that the Japanese do. Did you think about the other countries in the world? To be fair, they would have get them to translate as well and that could take even longer than it is right now.
 
Waffle-san you do realise brawl came out in japan on the 31st of January and the 29th of March for America and even later for the pal regions. Anyway yeah the wait is long but hell we have to live with it, Its just the way the game market works and shall always work.
 
with the Japanese games coming out before the U.S, we can see if the game is worth buying or not

Sometimes I wish they would release at the same time but in general o. Its a good way to prepare and for them to find bugs and glitches within it before a US copy is made.
 
To put it quite simply no. Even though I feel the of living in England, where we have to wait about a year after the Japanese release I still think the wait is good. When there are waits between games it's actually quite good because if there are new features it adds suspense, which gets Nintendo extra money from the fans who are anticipating it. So if it makes Nintendo more money I doubt they would change it.
 
Has anyone actually acknowledged the fact that the non-Japanese releases of Japanese games have to be translated? Hurr durr. They can't make the game at the same time because that would require a much larger effort on the parts of both Nintendo of America and Nintendo Company Ltd. A worldwide effort to create the same game in all languages would be nigh-on impossible.
 
I like that we have a delay between the Japan release and the PAL/USA release. I like reading out about all the new things people have found in the game, so that way I can get even more excited for the game..
 
The release dates for the international versions of the games ought to be later than the Japanese versions. Even after much testing, many bugs can still be found in the game. Since games on Nintendo's systems can't exactly be updated, they need to make sure that the game is as bug-free as possible, which can take months of further post-release testing. It also takes time to make a quality translation from Japanese to other languages. We don't want another Zero Wing incident.

Well actually it was the 9th of March for North America, so a 5 week difference. I couldn't quite remember, I should have checked first.

People have brought up the translation issue and I do understand but I just think the time between release dates is too long, and I'm sorry for only bringing up only the Japanese and North American dates. It definately isn't fair for some people to have to wait a year or longer after the original date.
All I'm trying to ask for is a shortening of the time, 3-4 months for the North American release and then another month or two at most for the rest of the world.
Though I don't see why people in Europe or Australia have to wait any longer than the people in North America, the English is still relatively similiar. As far as other languages I can't really say, I do speak French so I know that English to French translation isn't THAT difficult but Japanese to French is a whole nother story.
 
No, because the the Japanese would have to wait just as long as the US people do, and that wouldn't be very mature.

Back on topic; I live in New Zealand (an island next to Australia) and everything arrives almost 1 year late to us (seriously, no hyperbole. For e.g. Pkmn Battle Rev was released sometime in September US. It got released to us August the following year >_>; ). It is because of this I believe that US should get the games sooner than they are already getting them. Ok, I hear everyone's views and for it I say, maybe USA doesn't have to get the game at the same time as Japan but that it should get it sooner than what they are already at. Simply this way so it can get out to other countries faster and etc.
