I heard that water is a good conductor to electricity. And if you put a non-waterproof electronic in a swimming pool, it's broken! So should Water Type Moves be super effective against Electric Type Pokemon and vice versa?

i really don't think they need to be making changes like that.....

If you put something of strong enough electricity in a pool, then not only is it broken, but whoever's in the pool will be shocked. And conductor means that electricity will be drawn to water, which is another reason why water types are best left as weak against electric types.

Thats not how it works. Water clogs the mechanics within the electronics and fries the system. Doesn't destroy electricity. If you drop an on toaster in a bathtub full of water with you in it, you WILL die.

So no, it shouldn't be changed

I don't think they should change the way the types work.

I think that we should have an attack like water cage, that puts the electric pokemon in a water bubble and make the electric attaks cause self damage, the variables should be the sp. attack of the pokemon, bigger the sp. attack, bigger the chances of scape or dont be affect at all.

Pikachu can swim and be unaffected. I don't think a change in type is necessary.

Such basic changes are unnecessary. Pokemon isn't about realism, or we wouldn't have 100ft dinosaurs breathing fire.

    Stupid idea and stupid thread

i think im wrong, but electric types only have 1 weakness, ground, right? is this considered broken

at least this guy knows some science
Well, Id make it super effective against a light type! XD

No. One of the strongest and most common moves in the game is super-effective against it. Why would it be?

FUN SCIENCE FACT: Distilled water with no impurities in it will not conduct electricity. However, since it's pretty hard to filtrate water to that level, most of the water you use or consume in your day-to-day life isn't distilled and will conduct electricity. XD

OT: nope, the battle system is far too established to be changed now and I think not being resistant to water is enough to symbolize that water can damage electronic devices. :P

It's been pretty much summed up, water should remain weak to electric. :D

Ahhhhh what? Pokemon is a kids game not a game relying on science(Well the space and time pokemon) but still 87% of american KIDS play pokemon (this include 5-16 year olds)
So what does this leave you with? A very idiotic reson in my apinoion and I hope I do get nasty comments on this also >_>...

(Also there not making a swiming pool pokemon ... wait I hope not)
