OOC: Aw what the?! I was gonna post a welcome... but I thought it would be too spammy... but since Alter and Charon did it....

Hewwo Yibber! ^-^

Oh school...! Yeppers, I have finals next week (though my Japanese teacher had us do the oral part of the final yesterday) so I'll be busy too. >.> I've got Japanese up first, then they're doubled up the next two days with US History and Botany (*sarcastic "yay"*) and then Public Speaking and Trigonometry (*sarcastic "double yay"*). After that though... SUMMER BREAK! WHOO! XD Which means I have to find a job. =P

Anywhoo, good to see you're doing well Yibber. School is teh evil. >=(

OOC: For crying out loud, I had the whole second part of this IC written up when my browser spontaneously decided to backtrack a page, erasing everything that I had added. Stupid hotkeys...<.<

IC:

"Hmm?" Rai looked up from his thoughts at Jena's unusually loud comment about the plant, turning to watch the ornament as well. He couldn't really say that he saw anything peculiar about it, but then again, Jena had already proven herself to be the more perceptive one in these matters, and he assumed that she wouldn't have spoken up without a reason.

"Might as well take it on the safe side." he said, instinctively reaching for a pokéball on his belt, "Ashu, could you-"

He cut himself off as he recalled that the Scyther was still being treated, lowering his hand to his side with a slightly sheepish expression on his face.

No matter... he told himself, trying to shrugg of this temporary lapse in his usual well-controled and graceful manner as he proceeded to investigate the plant on his own, reaching out a hand to check amidst the leaves. It's probably just another Oddish playing hide-and-seek again. he added to reassure himself as he began his search, recalling the young trainer from yesterday and his unruly team Nothing to worry about...I don't need Ashu for this. Especially since I'm already dirty anyway.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Meanwhile, the streets of Koverike City were as lively and active as ever, despite the increasingly late hour, colorful crowds of "skydancers" dressed in all manner of peculiar, feathered outfits mingling with larger crowds of locals and tourists, both seeming equally excited about the prospect of the upcoming festival and all of them too preoccupied with their own mingling to pay any heed to a certain crowd member who was quite far from a party mood.

"Come on, Ruru, he's getting away!"

A still fairly young boy, perhaps sixteen or so, came darting through the crowds, dodging or, usually, just shoving aside the various bystanders who stood in his way, all the while trying not to let the running one in front of him out of his sight. It was obvious that he had been at this for quite a while now, his face bearing a light shade of red in its colour and his dark green hair, usually so carefully ordered, now rebelling against the usual bowl haircut, stray strands sticking out here and there. And if his behaviour hadn't been enough to distinguish him from the crowd, his attire certainly was, being most closely resemblant to the kind of gi that practicers of martial arts wore, although the jacket was a slightly darker shade than the usual white and the trouser-portion of was dark blue, much like his belt, and the lower ends had been secured firmly a bit above his ankles to keep him from tripping, his bare feet rapidly proceeding across the ground while the wooden slippers that usually adorned them were firmly clenched in his right hand.

{Sorry!} a rather young-looking Azumarill called out as she trotted after best she could, looking awfully guilty about the way her trainer was behaving and making a point of apologizing as often as she could while at the same time clinging to the sizeable dark blue satchel in her front paws, {Sorry! Excuse us! Coming through! Oh, terribly sorry! He didn't mean it like that! Please...sorry!}

'If only I could get a clear shot...'
the boy thought for himself, sweat running down his brow as he watched the small, dark spot that constituted his target darting back and forth between the crowd members, I could drop him down easily, but with all these stupid people in the way...hah! Got you!

A triumphant expression spread across the boy's face as the man in front of him suddenly turned around a corner by the Koverike City pokémon center, a place where no crowd in its right mind would possibly go. The boy immediately quickened his pace, reaching down to his belt with his free hand and pulling out one of the three pokéballs held there, turning around the corner only to find his target...gone?

He came to a halt, unable to believe his eyes as he beheld the completely deserted street in front of him which then proceeded to branch out into another one of the large open spaces which the people of Koverike seemed to adore so much, another enormous crowd busily wandering back and forth across it.

"No..." he said for himself, replacing the pokéball and leaning against the wall beside him with his now free hand, air entering his body in deep breaths as he attempted to steady himself while he slowly returned to donning the slippers on his protesting feet, "Lifegiver's bane, no!" the youth clenched one of his hands into a fist, delivering a well-honed punch into the wall out of pure anger, a small hole appearing on the spot he had struck while he proceeded to massage his now aching hand, great...with his luck he would probably have broken someting too.

{A-Aniki?}

The boy looked up as the unsure voice of his Azumarill caught his ears, watching as the water type slowly trotted over, her ears drooping and the satchel stretched out in front of her, like the poor victim-to-be holding out her crucifix in a vain attempt to scare away count Dracula. It was obvious that the rabbit pokémon was feeling guilty about what had happened, hardly surprising considering that she took it upon her to take the blame for more or less everything.

"He got away..." the boy replied in a bitter tone, glaring towards the crowd again, as he accepted the satchel and slung it back across his shoulder, "That lousy outsider got away with the emblem. It's over, Ruru...I failed...we failed..."

{No you didn't.} the Azumarill replied in a surprisingly firm manner, placing her stubby front paws at the places where her hips would probably have been had her anatomy been more human, {That thief didn't play fair, you would have beat him in a fair fight. You would have-}

"But it wasn't a fair fight and I didn't win." the one called Aniki interrupted, "And whether I would have won or not doesn't matter to the elder when he hears that the symbol of our house is still at large, will it? We were meant to retrieve it, remember? And now it's gone!" he slashed through the air dramatically with the less sore one of his hands, causing the water type to jump back a bit as a precautionary measure, "Months of careful tracking and planning...all spoiled..."

{Then we'll just track and plan again.} Ruru replied stubbornly, looking up at her trainer, {Because until you succeed you'll never give up no matter what, right? That's what you're always saying.}

The boy looked up, "You're...right. I used to but-"

{So let's go!} the Azumarill cut in, immediately beginning to march off towards the pokémon center entrance while dragging his trainer by the hand, {Maybe someone in here saw something...} for anyone except Aniki, this sudden change of behaviour in the aqua rabbit would have seemed strange to say the least, but to he was completely used to it. Most of the time Ruru was a hopeless pushover who was always trying to be nice to everyon and immediately took the blame for everything, but when it really became necessary, she was the bravest and most determined pokémon he knew. 'Probably why we work so well together...' the boy mused as he dislodged his hand, stepping in through the glass doors of the pokémon center.

The crowd inside wasn't much nicer to be in than the one inside, and most seemed far too concerned with their own peculiar bussiness to pay him any heed, but then he spotted a lone girl and her Zubat sitting in the corner, not seeming to have anything in particular to do.

{Aniki..?} Ruru asked, having safely reverted back to her usual insecure self now that the boy had regained his trademark confidence, {She looks scary...are you sure we should..?}

"Weren't you the one who's always saying that it doesn't hurt to ask?" the boy retorted in a quiet tone, givng his pokémon a playful poke, "Don't worry, I can handle myself."

""Excuse me?" he asked, trying to recall all the things that the village elder had said about proper adressing of people from the outside, it would undoubtedly have gone better if he had actually been paying attention, "You wouldn't happen to have seen a man in black run by here, would you?"

Zachary
=============

"Huh?" Zachary said to Jena's statement. He blinked, looking over the plant in question with his eyes and frowning slightly. There didn't appear to be anything wrong with it. "Ron? See anything?" he asked his pokemon, looking down at the little Aron.

{Nope. I'm not the smartest pokemon though so...,} he trailed off, watching as Rai began to walk over to the plant to investigate. The pokemon sighed, {I just hope for your sake that Gwendolyn doesn't suddenly catch us in here messing with her plant.}

Zachary found that doubtful. She would likey be more angry that they had all been hiding from her than Rai touching a houseplant. He leaned over a bit to see around Rai's body better, "See anything Rai?"

{ooc| Sorry~! I'm addicted to Dark Chronicle, can't stop playing! I'm very annoyed, though, KH2 isn't being released here until AUGUST. *kills someone*}

Jink froze. Had they... heard him? He struggled to remain still. The blonde boy had been about to investigate, but for some reason he was hesitating. And the brown haired boy, well, he seemed happy enough just to stare... Maybe he'd get away with it...
At least, he thought he would.
"ACHOO- Oh crap~!" without warning, Jink and sneezed, and swore, and he tumbled out of the potted plant to collapse on the carpet.

Meanwhile, in Koverike City, Maxie had been lost in thought. Fang, too, was deep in contemplation; their expressions were identical, both deadly serious and incredibly sollemn. Both were oblivious to their surroundings; Maxie's eyes were fixed firmly on her hands, and Fang's ears were flicked back - a Zubat's way of closing his eyes.
Then-
"Excuse me?" A boy's voice pierced her thoughts. Maxie's clenched her teeth and her eyes flashed upwards, to fix furiously on her interupter. He looked around sixteen, maybe older, and was dressed similarily to the other weirdos she had seen stalking around. His dark green hair, however, was slightly more wild, and he was dressed in some sort of martial arts costume. To be honest, though, Maxie couldn't care less how he looked. If he had been dressed in golden pantaloons and had handed her a silver platter, when, Maxie wouldn't liked him. She was busy stewing in self-pity, and Maxie didn't like to be interupted while she was doing this. She glared at him fiercely, her eyes darting to his Azumarill and then back tot he boy. what an infantile pokemon...

"No," she replied, her voice nearly a snarl, "I did not see anyone-" she broke off, as Fang nipped her finger perhaps a little harder than usual. She glanced at him, and he gave her an imploring look.
{Be nice~} he urged. Maxie sighed defeatedly, and turned back to the boy.
"I'm....I'm afraid not, sorry." she added, remembering her manners, "I haven't been paying attention..." She glanced to Fang. "Did we?" she asked. The bat pulled a face.
{We might have done... I heard someone follow us in, and leave write before we did.} he muttered.

OOC: Ehh...I pop off to edit my post and hey presto, in you come and make your own. Meh, it's the stupid browsers fault for erasing my original edit. xP Anyways, I was feeling kind of bad about leaving Maxie high and dry back there, so...presenting the real special character person. *Pokes edited IC* xD

"Well..." Rai replied to Zachary's question, "Not anything out of the-"

He was cut off mid-sentence as a loud sneeze followed by a series of weird Bellsprout-talk suddenly erupted by his ear, soon followed by their source who promptly tumbled down on the carpet, the boy dodging backwards out of sheer reflex and nearly losing his balance.

"I-take that back." he muttered, trying to regain his composure now that the initial shock had passed, "Okay..." Rai took a deep breath, "So there was something there. The question is, what should we do with this little fellow, then?" he gestured towards the grass type, "The way it was screaming...it could be hurt or something." he cast a pleading glance at the others, hoping that someone would take the hint and come up with some reasonable plan of action. Battling pokémon and tending to the aesthetic side of things, that he could do, but strangely behaving grass types leaping out of odd places with the apparent intent on scaring the life out of him were quite beyond his expertise.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Aniki took a precautionary step back as the girl in front of him suddenly lashed out in a manner which was quite disturbingly resemblant of a Seviper that had been interrupted in the middle of shedding. How could she have reacted so...eruptively to such a simple question? Had he gone and forgotten something and unpurposefuly offended her? The boy tried to force his mind back at the lessons the elder had given him...hadn't there been something about kissing peoples hands? Was that what he had been expected to do? He cast a sideward glance at the hands of the girl in front of her, or rather, the thick gloves covering them. They certainly didn't look like something that would be particularly pleasant to kiss, and the boy certainly wasn't going to do so on a maybe...for all he knew he could be offending her again, in which case it would probably be best to keep his head as far from her reach as possible.

{Ohh...I told you...} Ruru whimpered, clinging to the boy's arm, {Told you this was a bad idea...told you you shouldn't bother the scary person...told you...}

"Ruru...please, not now..." the boy muttered, trying to discreetly reassure his pokémon while at the same time keeping an eye on the girl. Apparently not going with the hunch had been a good choice as she suddenly began acting much nicer, even though she didn't exactly provide any useful information. 'How strange...' the boy thought, feeling puzzled by this sudden change, 'Is this how all outsiders start their conversations? Should I have been glaring too?' he shrugged the thought off, this was definitely not the right occasion to be rehearsing social ettiquette.

"Well, I'm sorry to bother you, then..." he replied, beginning to turn away but feeling a light nudge on his arm.

{Umm...the scary person's Zubat said maybe..?} Ruru remarked timidly, {Maybe we should..?}

"You...saw someone suspicious?" Aniki asked, turning back to the girl again, "Maybe...did he have a pokémon with him? Some kind of bird...what was the name again?" he directed the question to his Azumarill.

{Erm...Spearkrow...I think?} the water type replied in an unsure voice, {Or maybe..um...Wingmory? I don't know...they all sound the same to me.} she shrugged apologetically.

"Erm...a black bird?" the boy tried, turning back to the girl, "Kind of sneaky-looking? It...would really be a great help if there was anything you could tell."

Zachary
=============

"What the?!" Zachary grunted, surprised as the Bellsprout came hurtling out of the plant. He had been staring at the spot the pokemon had popped out of, so it had startled him almost as much as it startled Rai. A little off-balance from the startling, Zachary had to stop himself from accidently falling on Kayley and Jena. It partially worked, and he had only brushed the two girls lightly before regaining his footing. He blushed a little from his own clumsiness, and hoped he wouldn't recieve anymore slaps to the face.

He quickly apologized, then turned back to Rai and the newcomer.

"Guh... what's the thing doing in that plant anyway?" Zachary said, moving closer to the pokemon and staring at it stupidly.

{Why doesn't someone try talking to it? Ugh...,} Ron said flatly, wobbling over to the little grass type, giving a friendly wave, {Hi! You all right there?}

Zachary frowned at Ron's rudeness, but just shook his head and sighed, "I guess we should wait to find out what's wrong with it before doing something."

The Bellsprout glanced up at Rai began to talk to his friends, completely ignoring him.
{I can understand everything you say, you know!} Jink shouted, scrambling to his feet. Humans - and pokemon - always looked down on him because he was...well, a first stage, terribly mediocre rookie pokemon. Even now, an Aron was wobbling over, giving him a friendly wave. Where's the suspicion? The fear? he thought irritably. If I was a Sneasel... an Umbreon... he trailed off, and turned to answer the Aron's question.

{Uh, no?? I was trying to spy and got discovered, does that look okay to you?} he whinged in his high, geeky, Bellsprout voice.

~+~+~+~+~+~+~

Maxie, meanwhile, flushed in embaressment. She hadn't missed the step backwards the boy had taken, nor the frightened clinging his azumarill had suddenly taken to. She guessed she was pretty frightening, but very few people had taken such precautionary measures. She watched his eyes flick to her hands, and she dragged them beneath the table and onto her lap. Her still felt strangely numb. Her eyes darted to Fang, who she stared at unexpectantly. "Well?" she asked him. "Did we see a Murkrow?"

The zubat shook his head. {It's hard to tell. I heard wingbeats behind us for some of the time - too large to be a pidgey, too small to be a pidgeotto, and the wings were too short to belong to a swellow, but too long to belong to a spearow. Wasn't a farfetch'd, either - normally they fly wonky-like, because of the leek.} He pulled a face. {There's a chance, I suppose, a Murkrow was following us, but never having seen one...}

Zachary
============

{Well sheesh... there's no need to be all rude about it. I was trying to be friendly,} Ron said indignantly. Why was it that there was simply no respect between fellow pokemon anymore?

Of course, the little Aron had no idea how the sprout thought, or why it would act such a way. But who could honestly ever know what goes through another's head? There was one thing Ron was sure of-- the metallic pokemon was not one to keep calm when he felt slighted.

Ron frowned at the Bellsprout from under his metal helmet, {Well if that's how it's going to be then... out with it! What were you doing spying on us anyway, Sproutie?}

Zachary put his hand to his forehead. "Oh that's great...."

OOC: Like, today was supposed to be occupied all the way to midnight by this big school stuffer, but it turned out that it's vouluntary so...here I am. Sorry about not posting yesterday, had to finish some lab reports for Physics *Stabs Physics*. But tis' all good now...I'll have to get offline again soon since I've got Jujitsu practice (Since the school stuffer is now out of the picture I've no justification not to go. ^^) but since tommorrow is a free day for me, I'll probably be able to stay on the computer for an extra hour today. So pwhee for that. xD

And...

I raised my Physics grade by 1 - still crappy, but improved -...and got, on a scale of 1-7, 6 1/2 and 7 respectively on my end-of-term tests in Swedish, and 28 out of 30 points on my Finnish test while the Maths papers, despite my horrendous, clueless teacher, were 4 and 3.

*Deep breath*

YAYNESS!

On a random note, yesterday I ran into a tour guide from a holiday trip my family went on about a year ago, and on the very same day I was about ten meters and three minutes away from running into the president of our fine country. So yeah, small world. You see, I was on a class trip to Porvoo, and just the other day some jackarse decided that it would be a fun idea to torch the local church (One of the few remaining structures from medieval Finland <.<), although luckily only the upper roof was destroyed, apart from smoke and water damage which, according to experts, can be repaired, and wouldn't you know it, the president had picked that particular day to come and pay her respects to the damaged church (You know, usual politician stuff...), so yeah, freaky coincidences. o.o

IC:

As the conversation between Ron and the strange Bellsprout began escalating, Rai was starting to feel more and more clueless about the whole thing, not being able to understand a single word of what the pokémon were saying now that Ashura wasn't there to translate for him. Judging by the agitated tones in use, it seemed pretty obvious that the two were arguing about something, but that was about where the boy's understanding of the events ended. Further adding to his confusion was the peculiar thought that had flashed across his mind the moment he saw Zachary brush against Jena...and Kayley of course, yes, Jena and Kayley. Of course he knew that it was an accident, and that the boy had never intended to do such, and of course Zachary himself was quick to apologize about the matter, but this was still insufficient to keep the boy's right hand from clenching slightly, as if preparing to punch, but luckily such actions went very much against his nature, and the urge passed as quickly as it came. Nonetheless, it was a disturbing sensation. Why was he being so...protective - or would that even count as possessive? - about Jena? They had only me yesterday, they hardly knew each other and what little she had told about herself could just as well be lies. So why?

He shook his head slightly, quickly clearing the girl away from his thoughts as he was afraid that he'd start staring again, which certainly wouldn't help. Luckily, another intervention came to divert his attention...namely, the return of Amelia.

"I'm sorry it took so long." she began as she walked into the kitchen, holding a tray containing a number of containers carefully covered in aluminium foil, "I just had to wait for a bit so Gwendolyn wouldn't-" she stopped as she noticed the peculiar scene in front of her, Kuro, who still looked considerably sulky, slowly following in her footsteps.

"Umm..." Amelia began, her gaze travelling from the confused-looking Rai to the two pokémon facing off on the floor and then to the still rather flustered-looking Zachary, "...what's this about?" she finished, unsure of how to phrase a better question.

OOC: And the IC is done. Well, half of it anyway, I'll finish the other part once I come back from Jujitsu practice. Please do not adjust your sets. ^^

{ooc| YAY ALTER! That's awesome, good for you!
I've been predicted A grades in every subject save maths, but I'm only getting Bs...I need to buck my ideas up and stop reading Harry Potter. And attending wild parties. Yay.
Well, I have a week off school so I've been working on a massive canvas project thing... which I might use for my Art course. Might not. Inspired by a saying; 'wolves can't breathe in cities.' I don't know where it's from, but there's a pretty good chance I didn't make it up.}

The bellsprout licked his leaf - sorry, hand - and sleeked back his imaginary hair, a movement that would have been distinctly slimy if it hadn't come from Jink; with his cute button eyes, gaping mouth and distinctly innocent expression, he looked just like a child mimicing his father, trying to look more mature.
Which, technically, was what he was.
Jink's trainer might not have been of the intentionally lousy sort, but he certainly worked for them, and young and impressionable as he was, couldn't help picking up odious little habits - and couln't help passing them on to his assistant and pokemon, Jink.

The bellsprout narrowed his eyes, looked down his nose at the Aron (he was distinctly taller, after all), and exhaled sharply. {My name's Jink. 'Snot too hard to cope with. And as for what I'm doing...} he stroked yet another imaginary body-part, this time a chin, {well that's top secret!}

OOC: Hooray for upping grades! Even if it is still crappy! XD

That's cool that your president was so close. I might be slightly awed if the US president ever was near me, but I'd probably be too busy holding back my parents from punching his lights out to think much. ^-^;; Not that they'd ever get more than 50 meters from him considering he tends to surround himself with supporters only. /political rant

Anyway! Welcome back to posting, it has been a bit slow around here. Especially since Yibber and Plushie are so busy.

Heehee... Rai's jealous! XD And Jink is like the cutest ever! Bellsprout are adorable. ^-^

Zachary
=============

As much as the Bellsprout before him was trying to look suave, Ron just couldn't see the thing as anything but a small, frail plant pokemon. He had to utilize all of his self-control in order to prevent the torrent of laughter that was tickling at his insides.

Zachary looked over to Amelia as she had just walked in.

"Oh... we-- I mean, Jena-- spotted this Bellsprout snooping around that plant over there. From what I heard Ron say, it says it was spying on us. I can't think of why though," he shrugged, and then suddenly noticed the food, "Food! Thanks so much Amelia...!" He smiled at the trainee, taking a few steps closer to her and looking over the tray.

He was about to turn around and tell Ron to forget the sprout and come get a taste of food, when he heard Ron's tiny Aron voice speak.

{Very well then Jink I guess--I guess--!} the steel pokemon paused, his face twitching under his helmet, {Guh... I can't--! AHAHAHA!! You're too funny!} Boy did it feel good to let out laughter after holding it in for so long! Zachary stared at the pokemon, suddenly feeling quite embarrassed.

"Oh man...," the boy said, shaking his head.

Jink's expression went from prideful to utterly destraught in less than a second. As Ron's laughter rose, the bellsprout felt the colour rise to his cheeks. Blushing like a schoolgirl, Jink's little beetle black eyes began to wobble, and with his lips pursed and his skinny plant frame wobbling dangerously, he looked distinctly pathetic.
{That's...} he sniffed, {That's n-not...} The bellsprout wiped at his eyes with a leaf, {NICE!} He shouted suddenly, and suddenly Jink was launching a powerful razorleaf attack, with bladed leaves sharp enough to cleave rock. Jink expected them to do nothing more than bounce off Ron's metal coat, but that wasn't the point. It was a distraction. They skimmed past the humans harmlessly.

The next thing anyone knew, Jink had thrown himself head first back into the potted plant. The distintive sound of a vent-guard hitting the ground soon followed, and then the pitter-patter of rooted feet on a steel floor.
Sure enough, behind the plant, was a vent. And Jink was now scrambling around the poke'center's airways.

Zachary
============

"Ron that's enough! You've made it cry for goodness' sake...," Zachary heard himself say aloud, in a slightly angry and bewildered tone too. He was surprised at his pokemon, laughing at the thing. Granted, it had been spying on them, but that didn't give the Aron the right to make fun of it!

The steel pokemon had been caught off-guard by the Razor Leaf, and though they did indeed just clink off of his armor, it was still an attack that had been aimed at him.

{What the--?!} he grunted as several of the leaves hit his helmet, {Hey! There's no reason to get all freaked out by-- huh? Where'd he go?!}

Zachary sighed, and shook his head again. "Ron... I'm really disappointed in you...," he said to the pokemon seriously. Ron looked up at him with a shocked expression.

{Aw come on Zach! It was just a bit of fun! Some people don't know how to take a joke!} the Aron said with a frown, unable to understand what the big deal was.

The boy continued to stare at Ron with a slight frown and didn't really know what to say to that. Ron had always seemed light-hearted, but sometimes his joking went too far, and it was almost mean at times. It reminded him of people he used to be 'friends' with, and it worried him to see his pokemon act that way.

OOc-

Eheh.. ^^;;;

Haven't posted here in a while. Bah, I had to go away for a bit, since I had an NP camp-thingy-thing going on. I just came back home today, so yeah, decided to finally get a post up. X3

Ic-

Jena blinked, before realising that now, an odd little Bellsprout had joined them. The girl managed a relieved smile, amazed, and, all too glad that she had been correct.

She shifted slightly, as Zachary looked like he was about to fall over on both her and Kayley, turning her attention back to the Bellsprout once she was sure that the boy wasn't going to fall over and hurt himself. The coordinator fell into silence once again, as it seemed like there was heated discussion between Ron and the grass pokemon, noticing that Amelia had returned, with food on a tray.

"Ehh-!! I really didn't spot it or anything, it was just dumb luck..."Jena quickly said, scratching her head with one head, feeling rather embarassed. Yet, at the words phrased in Zach's sentence, it did make her feel a bit fuller for some reason... Maybe she didn't need something to eat.

The girl had to look away from the trainee, staring at the Bellsprout which had released a razor leaf attack onto Ron. As the leaves made a harmless 'clink' sound as they came into contact with the Aron's strong armor, she let out a sigh of relief. Was she overreacting? She should have known that the leaves could never hurt a steel type like Ron, and yet..Maybe she was thinking too little, again. No doubt about it. Not to mention being absent-minded and forgetful.

Whatever pride or relief, if there was any, that the girl had accumalated from the fact that she had been right about something, even if it was finding an odd pokemon, vanished on the spot. Jena was thinking too much to notice that the Bellsprout had escaped by using the vent beyond the plant, a worried look on her face.

OOC: Like, yay for my L33T posting speed...sorry for the lateness, but I've been having these ridiculous writing blocks, blame it on the warm weather, I guess, just can't seem to get my thoughts together and write...<.<

IC:

{Ohh! Murkrow! That's the one!} Ruru exclaimed at Fang's explanation, unable to contain the excitement of the discovery, {Erm...sorry...} the water type added sheepishly, blushing in embarassment as she realized that she had been interrupting. Still, the scary lady was looking a bit less scary now, so the Azumarill was feeling a bit more confident than before, although not nearly enough to release the grip of her trainer.

"So...a maybe, then?" the boy concluded, nodding slowly as his brow furrowed in thought, "I wonder, though..." he added for a while, "Why would he be following you? I mean, I can think of many reasons why someone would want to steal my emblem, but...you-you're not carrying anything particularly valuable, are you?" the boy added just in confirmation, "That is...if you don't mind me asking all these questions." he concluded, offering an apologetic smile.

{Too small to be some mangy Pidgeotto? Why the nerve...} muttered the barely audible but decidedly offended voice of a Murkrow currently hiding behind a potted plant in the pokémon center and staring at the small group, she briefly turned to inspect her ragged wings in a self-conscious manner, {Shorter than a Swellow's?} she scoffed, {Not likely...I'd like to see the Swellow that could out-perform these...} this was all done quietly of course, although judging by the continuous self-talking, it was doubtful wether the flying pokémon was even aware that she was saying the words out loud, which, incidentally, she wasn't.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Oh, you're welcome." Amelia replied at Zachary's comment about the food, unable to resist smiling at the boy's enthusiaism as she carefully deposited the tray on a nearby table, "It's the least I could-"

She never quite got to finish her sentence as the Bellsprout suddenly burst into tears, only to follow it up with a Razor Leaf attack which, although seemingly harmless, was certainly quite shocking.

"Is-is everyone allright?" she asked, her natural caretaking reflex causing her to rush over and perform a quick inspection of Ron's health, although she quite soon deduced that there had been no harm done. Well, physical anyway...

"Well, that's a relief at least..." the trainee commented, rising into upright position again, "But...that little Bellsprout, though..." she added with a hint of concern, "It-it could be hurt or something, they often do things like that out of panic, you know. Maybe...we should send someone just to check if it's allright?" her eyes quickly travelled to the plant, behind which, she knew, one of the many air ducts of the building was located, and then moved on to Kuro, the Meowth's expression turning even more displeased as he guessed what the girl was about to suggest.

{No way no how!} the normal type protested, {I ain't going!}

"But...you used to do it all the time when you were chasing Rattata around, remember?" she interjected, "I'm not asknig you to hurt it or bring it back or anything, I just want you to go and see if it's allright....please?" she shot the cat pokémon a pleading look.

{But Ameeelia...} Kuro protested feebly, sighing in forfeit at the look he was referring, {Allright...} he concluded, grumbling, 'I'll just walk around a bit and then say I didn't find the thing...' the normal type added in his mind as he slipped past the plant and into the vent, , 'And she'll probably be all grateful and nice to me when I do it too.'

"So...you're all still in for eating, right?" Amelia continued, adressing the others as the Meowth finally dissapeared from view, "It will be better while it's warm, I'm sure. And don't you worry about Kuro, he knows those vents like the back of his hand...erm, paw."

Rai nodded in response, casting one last glance at the vent before turning his attention elsewhere. The boy didn't approach the food straight off, though, after all, it was rude to butt your way into such things, and instead, he once again found his gaze drifting over to Jena without him even intedning for it to do so. After her brief expression of modesty, the girl had fallen silent again, and yet again she was looking so...troubled, and judging by the absent look in her eyes it didn't seem like the Bellsprout's dissapearance was the cause. 'Maybe...' he thought for himself, 'Maybe if the others go for eating straight away there will be an opportunity for me to ask more...discreetly. Still, I'd better stop staring.' he scolded himself, turning his eyes away, 'Otherwise she'll start to think that I'm some kind of lunatic, I'm sure.'

OOC:

Well, I'd better announce a short leave of absence that's about to happen with me. My cousin Wendy has a wedding coming up and so my family planned a small trip around it. We shall be going to Los Angeles, where most of my extended family lives, and we'll be gone starting Friday the 9th till Tuesday the 13th. I don't know what kind of Internet access (if any) I'll have, so I most likely won't be posting. ^^; Just a heads up.

On a side note: HI YIBBER! ^______^

Zachary
============

"You're right," Zachary said to Amelia, nodding, "Poor Bellsprout, I should have made Ron go after him... though he'd probably just make things worse!" He gave a chuckle, meaning his comment to be a joke. Ron huffed a bit.

{Hmph! Poor Bellsprout? He was spying on us! What if he knew something about Sephy?} the little pokemon said in a grumbling tone. Ron didn't exactly look as if he agreed with Zachary's choice of joke.

Looking at the food before him, Zachary didn't hesitate to get something to eat. He looked over to Kayley, Rai, Jena, and Silver and motioned toward the food. "You guys want some? Come on!" he said cheerfully. He then looked up at Amelia with his usual smile, "Have you had something to eat yet?"

OOC EDIT: OMG! Hey Alter, remember when I mentioned seeing an add for "Alter Ego Shopping Mall" in a PM? Yeah well I saw it again! And I took a picture of it. Clickie. I know it's silly, but it just makes me giggle. ^-^

Fang quickly translated the Azumarill's words, his screeching voice dropping to a scratchy whisper. Maxie smiled to herself at the pokemon's words, ever so briefly, before setting her face in a stern glare.
If someone's watching... she thought suddenly, I can't let my guard down...not even for a moment. She glanced at Fang, who seemed to sense this unspoken descision; he sat up a little straighter, his eyes now straining for a sound.

Maxie turned to the boy. He reminded her of Zachary, for some unknown reason, and it took all of her self-control not to return his smile. "No, nothing of value... But I wouldn't bother yerself about it. He probably wasn't following, just heading the same way."

However, Fang's wing flashed out to jab Maxie's thigh. {Shhh!} he hissed. For a moment, he sat very still, his ears rotating like a radar dish. Then they twitched. He could hear a voice, skawking and indistinct from this distance all the same, but it was coming from behind a potted plant. And it sounded like a Murkrow.
{Can you hear that?} he asked the Azumarill, {Sounds like some bird's talking to herself.} He had heard Azumarill's possessed good hearing; apparently he was about to find out just how good.

Meanwhile, Jink was scurrying through the Air Vent at a frantic pace. His echoing footsteps - slap, slap, slap - were not exactly hard to follow. He had gone about a metre when he realised he was utterly lost - he couldn't remember the way he had come in. He stopped at a set of crossroads, concentrating fiercely.

OOC: I swear, this is the first time I'm typing this OOC up, although this time I actually managed to post too. Tis' jinxed, I swear. <.< Anywho, it's still important. You see, I too will be taking a leave of absence, but unfortunately...it's going to be an extended one. Two weeks and two days, starting from next Tuesday. You see, we (as in me and my family) are going on a trip across Europe, involving numerous complicated travel arrangements which I can't even begin to explain. Unfortunately, I do have the distinct feeling that internet connections haven't been factored into said plan, so...could I once agani ask you to look after my RPs for me? =3 I know it's a pretty long time period, but with forum activity being what it is, it shouldn't be too hard to handle. Like last time, I'll try to leave you with enough inside info on the RPs to have something to do. So...pretty please? ^-^

IC:

"I guess you have a point." Aniki commented at Maxie's reply, nodding, "But still, I'd suggest being careful...just in case." the last part seemed a bit redundant to him, though, as, despite the girl's talk about not bothering with it, both she and her Zubat already seemed to be more on the alert than before, and Ruru had apparently taken to the same as well, quickly nudging the boy and giving him a discreet 'keep quiet' signal, which left the boy just standing there and feeling quite much like an outsider in the whole situation.

{It-it could be the one...} the Azumarill replied at Fang's comment, trying to perk her ears up in a discreet manner. It was true that she could usually trace down even the smallest of sounds with ease, but to do so required some rather...unusual maneuvering on her part, and it would certainly seem quite conspicious to anyone watching. This watcher already seemed to have other things on her mind, however, continuing to rant for herself while seemingly only keeping half an eye on her targets.

{No respect, no respect at all...same thing everywhere...years of faithful service, but does he even give me as much as a 'thank you, Akari?', or even call me by my name? Oh no. It's always Murkrow do this Murkrow do that, trail the ugly bird and her freaky old-man friend, watch out for the mangy little Zubat who's supposed to be ever so alert, snatch the shiny thing but oh no, you can't keep it. No, never...}

Ruru had to physically prevent herself from gasping, {It-it's that Murkrow from before, I'm sure.} she whispered, chosing to relay the message to Fang rather than her trainer in this instance. After all, it would become pretty obvious that they had caught on if the Azumarill suddenly started to have a big conversation with her trainer, and she doubted that the boy would be able to keep his cool, {What do we do?} she inquired anxiously, hoping that someone else would form a plan. This was precisely why she hated leading in any situation, there was just so much responsibility.

Meanwhile in the pokémon center air vents, Kuro was facing some responsibility of his own, although the dilemma on his part was wether or not to bother catching up with his prey. It certainly wouldn't be too difficult to do so, as the Bellsprout was not only ridiculously loud in his movements but was also, by the sound of it, going around in circles.

'It would be such a bother to start playing friendly with it, but...' the Meowth took a pause, 'I suppose I might as well, better than just skulking about for another fifteen minutes. If anything goes wrong I'll just say that the crazy sprout jumped me.'

With that, the cat pokémon proceeded onward towards the source of the noise, but unlike Jink, he did so in a smooth and silent manner, the sound of his paws barely audible as he approached, soon spotting the confused Bellsprout at crossroads, if that was the correct term when talking about air vents, apparently in deep concentration.

{Boo.} Kuro remarked dispassionately, tapping the grass type on the shoulder - well, the spot where his shoulder would have been - in a very light manner.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Oh, I did, actually." Amelia replied to Zachary's question, "The nurses' serving was just a short while ago, so don't worry about me." she smiled, "Thanks for asking, though."

"I-" 'Probably won't be able to execute this particular plan' Rai concluded as he too was asked to join into the eating. Still, there was one concern which weighed down on him even more heavily than food, "I'll have to go wash myself first." he replied, casting a glance at his dirtied attire, not that the rest of him was in much better condition, "I'll join the rest of you soon, okay?"

He offered a quick, apologetic smile to them all before dissapearing up a nearby staircase, rushing towards the bathroom for the second time this day.
