Exactly. But I'd love to see someone else ride on the legendary pokemon's back. First it's Lugia, now Giratina. >.>

Isn't this thread, like, ancient? :/

But anyway, I agree when you guys say other characters need more screen time. That's why I like Dawn-she's not just there in the background. I don't mind Brock that much either, since he's just there for medicine.

But how can some of you guys say the first season was the best? There was more humor that anything else; so much that Ash pratically got all his badges as gifts. At least in Hoenn he started to actually fight and earn them. *correct me if I'm wrong*

I rather like Ash.
I don't think I will ever be sick of any of the main characters of Pokemon. [Brock, Ash ect]
Though I have gotten a bit sick of his Pikachu.. I don't know why truly.

I really think Ash has overstayed his welcome. Hopefully come Generation V, they'll make a new central character, instead of Ash in different clothing. He hasn't been all too interesting since he stopped wearing the official Pokémon League hat.

I'm not sick of Ash, he has his funny moments and whoever is the main character would probably end up the same as him

Yeah, I've been waiting for the day when it's been 1 month since it hasn't been posted in, but it keeps being revived just days before the month is up...blah. One day this thread will die...one day, one day. I have to keep telling myself that XD

Yeah, or even worse, Richie, blah. Although, Jimmy was a little different since he was actually attracted to a girl (which Ash hasn't been since episode 9 XD) Jimmy's kind of a *lot* more confident, too, I suppose

Ash could still stay a main charecter, but be as much invoved.By the way,he's supposed to be 20 by now

Have you ever watched animated television at all? Tons of characters exist in a relatively ageless environment (Simpsons, Flinstones). Thinking Ash is 20 is nothing short of delusional.

A little. He's kinda immature sometimes, and he's so predictable.

Just make him a Pokemon Master and then switch to an all new character on the other side of the world.

Actually, Ash should be at least fifteen years old by now.

I know this might be original, but the producers and writers should at least make Ash the Sinnoh Pokémon Champion. They've been slowly building him up since his first try at the Indigo Plateau.

Also, once Ash becomes a Champion, he could make a prolonged adventure that would take a season or two. That doesn't mean the total end of Ash; he could always be spotted in an episode or two.

Even though I'm indifferent to whether Ash leaves or stay, it's best if they continue the partnership of Ash and Pikachu.

There isn't a single quality about Ash that makes him interesting which, seeing how he is meant to represent all the lil' kids who want to be Pokemon trainers, says a lot about what the producers think about the youth of the world.

Again, are you new to serial fiction? Television shows such as Simpsons and the Flinstones, comics based in the Marvel and DC universe, and many movie series like James Bond pretty much exist in an ageless environment. Time passes but at such a slow rate so the characters are essentially ageless.

And all of those have been around LONGER than Pokemon, and you never here someone say "Well Bart Simpson should be 30!!"

The show isn't aimed to you. You're outside of the demographic. It's aimed at kids at Ash's age, around 10, with the core demo being 6-11 boys.

As a 20something year old, I can see the appeal of Ash. I'm not deluding myself that Pokemon should be more mature/violent/gory/fit to my taste. I take it for what it is, a simplistic franchise aimed at kids, and I still manage to enjoy it.

Well, since he started out as a ten year old in the first season, I thought that he would age a bit.

Logic would dictate that, but we're talking about a cartoon of a huge video game franchise. It is not unusual in serial fiction for time to pass in a relatively low fashion, and as the many examples I've cited, it's certainly nothing new. Probably because the audience tends to "grow out" of Pokemon and is replaced by a new, young audience, so continuity isn't really a big deal for 99% of the viewers out there.

tHE ONLUY REASON THE ACTORS DON'T HAVE THE SAME VOICES IS BECAUSE 4KIDS ENTERTAINMENT STOPPED MAKING THEM AND THE POKEMON USA MADE THEM AND GAVE THE CHARACTERS DIFFERENT ACTORS TO VOICE THEM

What about the other 1% of the viewers out there?
