I was thinking of writing a book called Pokemon glitch where the boy in Pokemon D/P is the main character as well as Brandon from Emerald. So I am writing a script on something else besides ash. They really need to open the world of pokemon a bit more don't you think.
Agreed, it's always the same old stale bread they've been feeding us: "Ash meets someone. He battles him/her. He goes to the gym. Sometimes he wins sometimes he loses. Says good bye forever to new friend. Repeat."
I also notice that you don't need all of the badges to get into the Elite 4 on the show. What a rip off!

...it's the same requirement in the games. 8 badges. It's just that in the anime, regions often are shown to have more than 8 official gyms. Which makes sense, considering that not every trainer starts in the same town and travels the same route.

Keep Ash. But maybe have a new main GIRL character.
And KEEP her for a few seasons. And have her being the main character
and Ash being the semi-main character/sidekick
along with another male/female.

Switch it up abit.

Also maybe have a new goal. Some kind of epic journey with a point beyond just getting badges.
But fighting and learning to get there.
Dunno.

Trying to find a long-lost friend?

Trying to get an item from a legendary pokemon to cure an ill sister/brother?
SOMETHING? o3o;

Or maybe have a side-series through Ash's pokemons point of view.

ALSO...

GET THE OLD VA'S BACK PLZKTHX!

*sigh* Ill say the same thing I said about knuckles the echidna.

They need to revamp the character and repair the damage done before getting a better VA.

A whole new serie, not involving Ash.

Like a Pokémon serie with all the Rockets involved. With more Pokémon fighting, more 'dark' things and with more than all that ''good'' old Team Rocket.

Why do people want more mature things on the show? To appeal to a demographic that doesn't matter to the writers?

For the love of God people! Someone needs to close this thread!
My opinon is to make new show but this stupid!
Just decied on something!

You do know that " 'dark' things" is something that's not a part of Pokemon. I'd suggest you look into a different show rather than turning Pokemon into a fan fic.

I sometimes get tired of ash being the main character and all, it seems to get really annoying at one point.

You have a point. Pokemon shouldn't be too violent since it wouldn't be enough for the older generation. Naruto and Bleach are more popular than the 3 Grappler Baki series, Fist of the North Star, etc. even though they are much more violent than the former. Pokemon is one of those niche shows for me and I think D/P is the best series so far becuase the Pokemon have personality ie the Croagunk vs Toxicroak rivarly.

That's why that episode called "The Legend of Dratini" was banned in America. =/

For the love of....since when have the trainers pokemon NEVER had personality!?

We've had Chikorita and her infatuation with Ash, Pikachu and all of his quirks, Squirtle and his supposed "prankster" ways, Charmander and his increasing egotism into his evolution, etc. What is it that you guys are not seeing!?

It's been a while since we had pokemon vs pokemon rivarlies though. That's what makes it interesting.

I thought pokemon Special had dark tones...hmm...

Look at the forum name.

"TV Show and Movies."

And even so, the various mangas aren't really "dark." A bit more explicit, sure, but that's because manga is a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT FORMAT intended for a completely different audience. Mangas are aimed more to prepubescent women than children 6-11 (the anime and the franchise's demo), and mangas of any kind don't have nearly the availability that a television series do. Even the most popular mangas, at best, just get a small section in a chain book store. Most mangas in the United States are still in specialty shops right next to comic books, and even more manga (again, not just Pokemon) never make it out of Japan.

To be fair, some of the personalities are easy to forget. Noctowl was said to be super-smart, but rarely displayed any sort of intelligence after it's debut and was largely used as (surprise) a scouter Pokemon. Sure, some (maybe many) keep their personalities lively and consistent throughout their time on a trio member's team, but many just are reduced to "You are the fire/water/whatever type, so you'll act like [previous fire/water/whatever type]."

You said "not a part of pokemon" though, suggesting you meant as a whole.

Im not speaking about the "various mangas" I am speaking only for the "special" which was regarded as such.

Hench the darker tones I believe. (duh much?)

I mean obviously, if it's intended for a different audience then sure the content would be different. Thats basic knowledge.

er...wha?

I forgot about Noctowl, which is a shame cause I loved that pokemon :P

The trios never really acted like their previous gen counter parts (from what I recall) Bulbasaur never had a crush on ash nor did Cyndaquil disobey his trainer (well it never evolved ok). Plus that doesn't really say they never had personalities. Sure they're forgetable, but that doesn't prove they never existed.

It doesn't have dark tones. Japan just has different ways of rating their works. For example, Bleach, a kid's show in Japan, is a teenager's show in America. Hence Bleach is aired on [as] in America and Pokémon is on CN while in Japan both shows air only an hour apart last time I checked.

P. S. Pokémon airs at 7 in the evening in Japan.

What's confusing? Age? Demo?

You were talking about the manga and then went with ticks in parenthesis with little explanation.

And im going by what others (american users) have said about the manga. I don't need lessons on Japanese culture.

The paranthesis said "The anime and the franchise's demo". Before that, I said that it was aimed at ages 6-11. What's confusing about that?
