I always thought that ash was a little butthole but that is just his character, I wish they put Misty back these new chicks suck and have no moxy like Misty does.

If Kasumi stayed, we'd have no one have character development at all though. She didn't have to be the one to go but somone did.

And the all-water aspect of her team really limited what she could capture. I mean cmon, Starmie and Staryu?

At least with the other girls, we have more diverse Pokemon.

There's more than one comic so Pokémon Special shouldn't be called "the manga". In this case it is. Team Rocket seems to be more established than Takeshi (Brock).

Yes, but how many times has Team Rockets Origins been reset or changed now?
and I guess I do have to take myself back a few steps, I'm assuming that we were discussing the American release of the anime, but it seems like this converstation is more concerned to the Japanise Original, in which I have no experience in. (Time for youtube) So I guess after I watch the orginal I'll be more apt to argue/agree

Why would any of you want Pikachu to go? It is the mascot of the Pokemon frachise and has appeared in the anime since the very first episode as well as in most of the Pokemon games, mangas and even in crossover video games.

Their bakgrounds have never been changed, only added to over the years.

Burn the never-will-be-Poke Master! (Got that of YGO the abridged)
Add more characters fools!

I don't care for Ash anymore. He just annoys me now. But, my real problem is with Pikachu.

Don't get me wrong. I'm a Pikachu fan, in fact probably one of the biggest out there. But, the Pikachu in the anime just isn't right. I get the 'all-conquering hero' thing, but a PIkachu shouldn't be that strong naturally.

That's one of the main reasons I stopped watching; because an ordinary Pikachu is WAAAAY stronger than it should be. I'm all for the super-powerful Pikachu but at least give a good reason for it to be that strong. (Genetic manipulation, maybe? Imbued with some sort of otherworldly power?)

Pikachu's been with Ash since day one. Of course it's stronger than average....

But even so, it's power is almost god-like. It's won situations that even a fully-trained lvl 100 Pikachu couldn't win. It doesn't matter how long they've been together, how hard they train, or how close a bond they share, no normal Pikachu should be that powerful.

I think that there might just be something more to Pikachu than meets the eye...(see comments at the end of previous post)

The games and the anime aren't the same.

I have to agree with Epilogue's concerns. The Pikachu in the anime has even managed to take down ground pokemon with an electric attack (something I raise my eyebrow to). It has defeated fully evolved pokemon very easily and even trainers pokemon you can already tell have been trained far longer and pushed harder then Ash's is.

Remember that one episode when Pikachu got something from Groudon... Maybe that explains something. Just throwing that out there. I mean, couldn't Groudon gotten another electric type to do its bidding?

Again, the games and the anime aren't the same. Game mechanics are, at best, vaguely referenced in the anime (like levels). But usually, they're very different or non-existent.

True. But certain advantages still exist in the anime. Like how rock pokemon are weak against water and how fighting pokemon are weak against psy (though Psy are portrayed almost godlike in the anime, look at Sabrina's Kadabra). The anime manages to keep this rather consistent except when Pikachu is concerned who can actually defeat any type of pokemon that is in it's path.

Pikachu defeated dozens upon dozens of pokemon that would normally not be a match for a regular pikachu before Groudon was mentioned in the anime. (Exaggeration of course but you get what I mean)

I love the fact that an episode wants to talk to me. If you want to say how tey contradicted it, it would be greatly appreciated.

Well, let's see, the events of the episode implied that Jessie and James met when they first joined Team Rocket, despite it being implied that Jessie and James were students together(School of Hard Knocks), Legendary Bikers in the same bike gang (The Bridge Bike Gang), and a few other episodes stating that they've known each other since they were kids. It also contradicted the notion that Meowth preceeded Persian as Giovanni's "Top Cat" (It was implied in "Battle aboard the St. Anne" that Persian "replaced" Meowth as being the Top Cat because of the TRio's failures, AND the subject was brought back up (either explicitly [such as in the dub], or just subtly implied [such as the Japanese raw]) in Bye, Bye Butterfree.).
