Silph. Co is a huge building in Saffron City that developed the Master Ball, and other technology throughout the Pokemon world. In Generation I and their remakes, you go through the company to stop Team Rocket, but in Generation II and their remakes, however "the elevator is broken" so you can't travel through the company.
What did you think of Silph Co.? I think it's cool that they manufactured the four original Pokeballs, honestly, and the original potions, repellents and other items first found in Kanto.
