I'm having trouble with my gardevoirs move set

Gardevoir@Leftovers
Modest
Trace

Calm Mind
Thunderbolt
WoW
Psychic/Shadow Ball

Is that a good set? And should i run shadow ball or psychic?

Gardevoir@Leftovers
56 HP / 252 SpA / 200 Spe
Timid nature
Trait : Trace
~ Calm Mind
~ Psychic
~ Thunderbolt / Focus Blast / Shadow Ball
~ Will-O-Wisp / Wish

Calm Mind Gardy

This needs Timid though.

Gardevoir@leftovers
252 HP / 48 SpA / 176 SpD / 32 Spe
Modest Nature
Trait : Trace
~ Hypnosis
~ Will-O-Wisp / Thunder Wave
~ Psychic
~ Thunderbolt / Focus Blast / Shadow Ball

Double Status , this is a great set.

Gardevoir@leftovers
252 HP / 48 SpA / 176 SpD / 32 Spe
Modest Nature
Trait : Trace.
~ Will-O-Wisp
~ Wish
~ Psychic
~ Thunderbolt / Focus Blast / Shadow Ball

Wish and general Support Gardy.

Needs Psychic on ALL sets or you dont have a reliable STAB move.

Thunderbolt covers Gyarados and Skarmory; Focus Blast is a more proactive solution for taking care of Weavile and Tyranitar, plus it dents Heatran pretty badly; Shadow Ball helps against Azelf and other Psychics and Ghosts if you predict one should switch in.

its up to you what your team lacks based on your decision of what you should choose as an attack move to go along with Psychic.

*Sigh* If only the move Pursuit wasnt invented.

Well Garchomp problem, I don't know what of these 2 should use:

ScarfChomp@Choice Scarf
Nature:Adamant
252 Atk / 32 SpD / 224 Spe
Outrage
Earthquake
Crunch / Stone Edge
Fire Blast
Easy, Good Starter, is freakin fast!. Outrage and Eq for stab. Crunch is for Cresselia and Stone Edge for Gyara. Fire Blast is for Skarmory and for Ice.

and the another one the surprise:

Chain Garchomp@Life orb
Nature: Naughty/Rash
Ev's:16 Atk / 252 SpA / 240 Spe
~ Swords Dance
~ Earthquake
~ Draco Meteor
~ Fire Blast

This moveset can surprise more than one, cause u use the Sp atk since the mighty Chomp 130 Atkn, but it's a good idea for one who use counter. EQ=Stab. Draca Meteor for kill, fire Blast Stays the same that the other Chomp. Sword dance for atack when ur SP atk low t much. With this chomp y will use as starter mu T-Tar so I can miz both ability's makin the Sword Dance a little bit secure.

So I need help, witch of this ones shall I use?

Depends on your team. If you need speed and/or a good revenge killer, ScarfChomp is tremendous. If Skarmroy and/or Blissey is your prime concern, Chain Chomp is better.

Also, you'll have the element of surprise on your side if you use Chain Chomp, since nobody uses or expects it anymore.

That's right but really i don't have problems with Blissey (Tar eat him/her) and also I don't have problem with cause i can use Fire Blast or my gengars thunderbold. But thnks

Then use Scarfchomp ;) though, in all honesty, the SD set is better.

I don't get the point of ChainChomp at all >.>

Swords Danced LO Outrages from max attack Garchomp should come close to 2HKOing even Skarm.

The point of the ChainChomp is surprise the opponent, many when see a chomp change to a wall or Tank like Brozong or cresselia, so u surprise them cause u can take phisical and Special Tanks/Walls. It's the surprise factor ;)

Another think, so many times i face a poke with counter (alakazam) but that's surprise me, so with Sp.Atk's they can't surprise U so easy.

the beauty of Chain Chomp is in the deadly Draco Metoer it dishes out. Fire Blast is meh, basically for Bronzong and skarm. The effectiveness of that set is hitting the likes of Donphan with a big, fat Draco Meteor. BAM.

And actually, Cresselia walls Chain Chomp really bad >.>

Quick Question
Say I start with a Pokemon at the beginning of a battle who, with superior speed status, sleeps the opponent's starter. Now, I'm obviously predicting the opponent will switch, and I switch myself. However, since my Pokemon is faster, would it switch first? And if so, if I switched to a Pokemon with the Arena Trap ability (not allowing switches), would that Ability work and not allow the Sleeped Pokemon to switch; subsequently staying on the field at the mercy of my new Pokemon?

Thanks in advance.

no because it would already be in the process of switching you cant just cancel it

I don't know about the order of switching but I doubt Arena Trap works in this case. Both should be able to switch that turn.

I have a noob question: What's a Chain Chomp? :paranoid:

I have a noob question: What's a Chain Chomp? :paranoid:

IT HAS A HUGE SURPRISE FACTOR , IT USES sd FIRST so they swicth to approiate counter then use a special attack ;) (Please reverse order of caps :] )

Mix sweeping Garchomp

Garchomp@Life Orb
252 SP.ATT / 240 SPEED / 16 ATT
Naughty nature
- Draco meteor
- Fire Blast
- Sword Dance
- Earthquake

Takes out stuff Fully physical Garchomps cant.

First, use Swords Dance. Swords Dancing may lure an opponent into a false sense of security, as nothing tells them you are not running the standard physical sweeper, whereas any other move would give away the surprise. Yes, Earthquake as well, since it would do less damage than a usual Life Orb Garchomp would do. After Swords Dancing you should take note of what your opponent brings in to counter Garchomp. If it is one of these Hippowdon, Starmie, Slowbro, Weezing, Donphan, are merely examples, but Draco Meteor them on the switch in and they are 1/2hko'd.

Even after the attack drop on this set Draco meteor will do more than earthquake.

Swords Dance and Earthquake so it doesnt completely get lol'd at by special walls.

Fire Blast takes out steel.

.____.
Whoever made ChainChomp must have been smoking green leaves.

Being walled, by Cress is pathetic, seeing as how Garhcomp is one of those sweepers that doesn't lose to Cresselia.

Garchomp @ Leftovers / Bright Powder / Life Orb
Trait: Sand Veil
EVs: 16HP / 252Atk / 240Spd
Adamant nature(+Atk, -SpAtk)
- Outrage
- Earthquake
- Substitute
- Swords Dance

Out damages ChainChomp in every way possible. In SandStorm w/ Bright Powder, you've got yourself a miniature Uber. Outrage should come close to 2HKO Skarmory after a SD. Everything else is toast.

Simple and probably stupid questions (although I´m new to the added depthes of training and breeding)

How do I keep track of a pokemons EVs? Assuming I´ve bred him for the moves and natures I want out of them..

Does each hatched pokemon start with 0 EVs in each stat ?
Is there some kind of a guide that can tell me what each pokemon gives as EVs at the end of a battle?
Does exp. share split the EVs or do both pokemon get the same amount as one would normally get without exp. share?

Is there an easy way to predict IV values for higher levels? I´m not sure if they would become a constant variable since they are effected by the EVs earned (as is my understanding)

Yeah it´s a lot of questions but I´m new to this and any help is really appreciated :) I want to raise a good team so I can kick my friends psychic-loving ass :P

Writing it down is best.

Is there some kind of a guide that can tell me what each pokemon gives as EVs at the end of a battle? Yeah, Serebii has one.

IV values can be measured by Metalkid's calc.

Yeah it´s a lot of questions but I´m new to this and any help is really appreciated :) I want to raise a good team so I can kick my friends psychic-loving ass :P

Get a Weavile and you'll6-0 his team most likely :P

Yeah, yeah, answers in bold...breeding is easir once you get the hang of it.
