thanks mate, i'll take that into account!!
:)

Wow, lot more posts on here than this morning! Why isn't shuckle used much? I know he has abysmal HP, but EV training can help.

There are quite a few stratergies for shuckle but i dont think it used to much because of the hp and ev training the hp would be kind of a waste

Ok, another questoin. I have a lugia from pokemon XD at level 50 with no training with earthquake, featherdance, hydro pump, and psycho boost (like overheat). How should I EV train it? I want the move aeroblast on it.

Alrighty...questions. I don't know if I plan on battling competitively ever, but just making movesets for Pokemon meant to be used as such looks fun. I have quite a few questions, though...and Serebii.net is hateful towards people who aren't masters of all battling knowledge, so I figured I may as well ask here.

First off, how many types should a single sweeper [Special, if that matters; I like Special attacks better than Physical attacks] be able to hit normally effective? Super-effective?

Next, do annoyers [y'know, the Pokemon that sit there off to your right and deal out status conditions before anything else can move] actually worki in battle, or are they an absolute gamble at best? Froslass has very good Annoyer potential; Paralysis, Confusion and Infatuation.

Thanks to anybody who can help me out here.

Just look at my old team's thread. Aragornbird said: "Anoyers don't work in competitive battles" about 20 times. Aragorn is really good, so I wouldn't use annoyers. Boltbeam hits every pokemon except magneton and lanturn (volt absorb) with at least a normal effective hit. So a physical sweeper with EQ, ice and thunder punches, and some other move would hit every pokemon with a normal effective hit. BTW I'm talking 3rd gen (I'm oldschool) but boltbeam works very well. The punches can sub for them like I kinda stated above.

Yeah, I like 'em too. Oh well. Oh yeah, what about lugia?

I also have a question, I'm breeding for Relicanth, and people have said it should have an Adamant nature, and some have said Impish. I just bred the perfect Adamant Relicanth, but should i use it?

Honestly, relicanth is a really poor pokemon. If you wanna use it I'm not the person to help you with that.

Whatever, Im still using him, but I need to know what nature he needs, and what to EV him in. I was thinking 252 defense, 152 HP, 106 spdef.

HP: 100
Att: 90
Def: 130
Spd: 55
Sp Att: 45
Sp Def: 65

Those are relicanth's base stats. Obviously, a grass move murdurs him and he is slow as machamp. He is good at absorbing physical hits. So if you use him, use him as a physical wall.

Duh, this is his moveset

HEad Smash
Waterfall
Rest
Sleep Talk

I need a little attack boost to give me an edge, I just wasnt sure whether or not to use nature or more EV's.

Impish, he's a decent attacker and a good wall. He is prone to EQ though, so be aware.

It was on a previous post before the subject on annoyers came up. I'm not using it competitively, just for fun.

I guess you could go with a Calm Mind/Aeroblast/Roost/Ice Beam or Whirlwind set if you want to use Aeroblast on it. I personally prefer keeping Lugia as a wall, but it's not my Lugia. EV train it in HP, Speed and Defense. I'm not sure how much Speed and Defense it should have, but Lugia always loves having max HP.
...Lugia? First off, legendaries = eew. Secondly...what does Lugia have to do on the subject of annoyers?
First off, there's a major difference between legendaries and ubers. Second, ubers are just fine in their own metagame, which is actually pretty fun.
