Okay. What if i said that i started with a Torchick (or however the hell you spell it), and that i particularly don't want to start the whole game over? Ohh, and i can't trade for it.

A fire move could prove useful, but don't forget that Combusken is a duel fighting type. And fighting moves are super effective against Steel types... if your Combusken has a fighting move, that will take out Maggie in no time, due to his piss poor defense and HP.

Or if you feel really motivated, go back to the Island with Brawly, go into the cave and pick yourself up an Aron. He learns Mudlsap early on.

As a former Magneton user, I can say with confidence that he is not hard to take down. Especially at the early stages, where his movepool sucks worse than the late stages. Water will also kill him pretty quick (TERRIBLE special defense). The key is to not use moves that are "not very effective".

yeah i have difficulty defeating wattson too...i stop playing for (i think) for a month...anyway i chose torchic too and it forced me too make my torchic evolve ito a combusken and i didnt even used combusken!
well...my suggestion catch a sableye and train it into a high level use night shade on wattsons pokemon..it could be very annoying when using it on his menectric because of the hold sitrus berry and let sableye hold a cheri berry..so you wont waste time making sableye unparalyzed

then it will be harder, but my combusken was level 32 by then, so i breezed through it. and can't u find a mate who started with mudkip? if u send me a stamped envolope, i'd trade u one of my mudkips (i hatched, like, 12) lol.

YOU CANNOT TRADE POKEMON BETWEEN GBA GAMES USING A DS. NO. NO. I DON'T CARE ABOUT ANY OTHER CIRCUMSTANCES. THEY SIMPLY ARE NOT COMPATIBLE. PERIOD. END OF STORY.

Besides, that's not what I was talking about. You're not the first person to ask, nor anywhere near the first person to be answered. Here's one of the more recent examples:

living_in_doubt, pay no attention to the above answer--they're just trying to confuse you. The truth is that you CANNOT use the DS to trade directly between GBA games in any way.

That was about two months ago in this thread. So, next time, be more careful before you start trying to flame someone, okay? And someone that answered your question, nonetheless...

You should give a bit more information. Asking such a general question usually wont give you an answer. Are you wanting to teach dig to a specific Pokemon on your team? Dig isn't a good move back in 3rd gen, in D/P it's better as it's attack's been boosted, but not a recommendation for a move in your team. Go with EQ or Rock Slide.
