several websites said if u hav a pokemon with hustle as your first pokemon then your chances of finding pokemon of higher level then the pokemon with hustle are raised.

There are two effects to Hustle. One is in battle, and the other outside of it.

Serebii.net said:
In-Battle Effect:
Damage from physical attacks is 1.5 times the normal, but average accuracy is only 80%.

Overworld Effect:
If the Pokémon is in the leading place in your party, chance of encountering a high level wild Pokémon decreases to 50%.

According to SPP, the chances of encountering higher level Pokemon actually decreases instead of increases.

Your quip about my quip is unnecessary as well.

=_= Do you not realize I was talking about how you insulted me?

If you think Earthquake is only mediocre, you probably aren't as educated as you think you are about Pokemon Battling.

And then you just insulted many more people...

Why do you have to be so immature? I thought I said I didnt want to pursue this any further? Or are you so determined to prove that you are right..? If so, go ahead, I dont care.

As for everyone else, Id like to apologize on both of our behalf for flooding this thread with such useless posts ¬_¬

Your quip about my quip is unnecessary as well.

Poison types and Fire types are used regardless of whether or not they are "useful" (they actually are quite useful). Ground still hits them super-effectively, and you cannot omit them from its coverage. Earthquake has more coverage than most moves anyways; Surf hits only three types, Ghost hits two, Psychic hits two, and Ice hits three. The only type that I can think of that actually comes close to Earthquake in terms of coverage is Fighting (Ice, Steel, Rock, and Dark)!

Which Steel-types have secondary types to help them remove their ground weakness? Skarmory, Scizor, and Forettress are the ony ones IIRC.

Surf only attacks both your teammate and both enemies in D/P. This is the R/S/E Simple Questions Thread, not the D/P Simple Questions Thread. Besides, you're basically saying that Surf and Earthquake do the same thing in 2 vs. 2 (again, only in D/P); but why do you mention that?

I never said there was a perfect attack, and I do know what mediocre means. I'm not as stupid as the majority of the members that visit here, you'll have to forgive me for that.

Don't be rude; no one likes a rude person, especially me.

Earthquake is the epitome Physical Attack move, but NOT because of it's typing. Ground is a decent type because not many Pokes are resistant to it (immune, you've got one and one trait), so it's not a bad typing (unlike most other "physical" types, like Steel, Ice (which is actually a terrible attacking type), and Dark. Dark types can take down an Alakazam with ease... but so can a well-packed Earthquake.

Anyway, as I was saying, the only reason Earthquake is so popular is not only a decent typing, but also it's power. It's one of the few well-types moves that has great power, and great accuracy (100/100). Combine that with a high Attack stat, and it becomes devastating, even when not STABed.

Surf, along with maybe Ice Beam, can be considered a Special version of Earthquake. Very few teams you meet will not have both Earthquake and Surf (and usually Ice Beam included), so the two can be compared. But in the long run, Earthquake is better, because besides the immunities, it can hit more types with good damage than Surf could, and same with Ice Beam.

Either way, don't flame the members here again, or else you'll really piss me off.

Okay people, time to stop this flaming now. It's only going to get worse. I'll be keeping an eye on this thread. One of the rules here at PC is to respect all members and arguments like this aren't good for anybody, and only take the thread off-topic. ;) So let's continue from where we left off.

rockslide is taught in the BF and you have to pay 48 B.F

:t354:tatsujin gosuto

Yeah, already found that out. Which is a bit stupid, because I want it to use it in the BF. Ow well, I guess Rollout will have to do the job.

Rollout used to dominate me in G/S/C, with that Normal gym leader. But in battle, it's not the best move. Too weak at first, giving your enemy plenty of time to KO you before Rollout has enough power to KO them. Work up the Battle Points, and get Rock Slide. You'll thank yourself in the morning.

if you don't have enough battle points for rock slide, you can always visit the house south of the battle pyramid (i think) where you can bet on your battle points if you have enough symbols. the hiker person inside will tell you to challenge a specific area, and if you agree, you can give him 5, 10, or 15 battle points. if you win, then you can come back and he'll give you double what you gave him.
(sorry if someone already mentioned this)

Just 2 questions:

1. Where do I get the Deepsea Tooth/Deepsea Scale in Emerald

2. If I reset my Emerald would I be able to trade the starters over to a completed copy of FireRed?

1. After you get the Scanner from inside the Abandoned ship east of Dewford town, take it to Capt. Stern and he'll trade you it for either one, the tooth or the scale.

2. You would need to have the National Dex in Emerald for trading to FR.

Yeah..........you must go to an event to get the ticket. So waiting isn't do anything.

Any tips for finding the legendary dog that appears in kanto in FR/LG?

Also what are the locations of the in-game traders (Jinx, Mr. Mine ect..)

And how do I return to the GS Islands once I have beaten the Elite four?

For the legendary dogs thanks to Shiny Umbreon:
If you are wondering if you should be playing your FR/LG all day to find them, then read this:

As you know, one of the legendary dogs randomly appear in Kanto according to your starter POkémon.
Bulbasaur - Entei
Charmander - Suicune
Squirtle - Raikou

This is an easy way to find them.

Step 1: Fly to Viridian City.
Step 2: Go to Route 2 (North) until the entrance of the Viridian Forest.
Step 3: Enter the routehouse, then go out and walk into the grass for a short time using a repel. (Your first Pokémon should be below Lv40)
Step 4: Repeat Step 3 multiple times until you find it.

This should work because there are only 22 Routes where they can appear (3 are sea routes) so you would have to be pretty lucky to find one. But with this guide, you're sure to find it because its area totally resets each time you warp into a house or building. Finding it should be quick so keep walking just a short time and re-enter the building. This works with any building near the grass, so you can try in your own places. I use this place because I think it's the building nearest to the grass in all Kanto. Remember they will only appear in Kanto, not on the Sevii Islands.

2. Ingame trades from memory:
Abra for Mr.Mime in Route 2
I can't remember exactly what the others are, but you get Jynx in Cerulean City. Lickitung in Fuschia City. And a couple of trades on Cinnabar Island.

3. Do you mean the Sevii Islands? I'm currently taking GS as to be Gold Silver, which isn't accessible.

ok ok, but what is that event¿ an AR code? what do i do? i can always get an AR from ebaY and just type in the code to get him auto, but i refuse to cheat. i want to do the things the right, if hard way. wat is that event?

an event that Nintendo holds in shopping centres, there hasnt been any for a while

hmm, so right now i can't get deoxys at all? what a bummer... so the only thing i can get is an action replay system? can't i get a nintendo event in ebay ATLEAST??

Where can you change the nickname of your pokemon in FireRed?
Lavender Town

No, you can't get Deoxys right now without cheating to get it. It is only available I believe for D/P right now in Japan.

And no, you can't get a Nintendo Event on Ebay simply because a NE is not something you buy. To get the Event, it happens in real life, you have to physically go there to unlock it ingame.
