I still can't catch the shiney Zapdos, Ive been looking for 7 days, it's annoying!

You will have better responses to cheating in the Cheater Code threads stickied below this one.

As for your Zapdos of a different color. Remember that you have 1 in 8192 chances to get a shiny. Those aren't good odds, so don't get expect to get one very quickly or even not very quickly. You have to waste A LOT of your time resetting.

Can't get to Saffron!

Well, I've done everything I could at this point. I went into the game corner and defeated Giovanni. Went to the Pokemon Tower and got the pokemon flute, why can't I get into Saffron yet? I have a fresh water and everything, but the guard won't ask for it. He says "I'm on guard duty, gee I'm thirsty though, Oh wait the road's blocked" and I get forced back a step.

Am I missing something? Please help.
 
That is because you don't use Fresh Water in FRLG. You use Tea instead. Talk to the old lady on the first floor of Pokemon Mansion to get it.

Ah, thanks a bunch. I guess the maker of the guide I'm using screwed up a bit. Plus I remember using water in Red.

How and when does Vileplume learn Aromatherapy?

I just evolved my Gloom but it didn't learn it.

I used to try and figure out how my Vileplume learns Aromatherapy, and the way I obtained it was breeding it with a Parasect. I think it's one of those moves where it isn't recieved by leveling up.
 
Hmm. That's strange because I looked it up but it doesn't say its a move obtained by breeding. There was just a dash where the level was supposed to be so I thought it meant it learned it upon evolution.
 
It is not possible to get Aromatherapy on Vileplume from breeding. The only way to get it is to take Vileplume to the Move Relearner, in Fallarbor. With a Heart Scale, he will teach it Aromatherapy. In FRLG, you will need to take one big or two tiny mushrooms to the Move Maniac on Two Island.

The reason why there's a dash is probably because it's an indication that it's a basic move, and that it isn't learnt by a certain level.

@ shanecdavis: That's the first conclusion I came up with, but since this was about FR/LG, I didn't mention it.
 
Why do you want it to know it? i don't think that's possible but pikachu can learn surf in pokemon Stadium 1.
 
That's what i thought. i knew it had something to do with a pikachu. but in the Firered Leafgreen how do you get a pikachu to learn surf?

Pikachu CAN learn Surf. It is a special move that it can get from Pokemon Stadium 1. No Pokemon Stadium 1, no Surfing Pikachu. Pichu learns Surf from breeding with a male Pikachu that knows Surf. Since Surf is an HM move, it will be transferred to the baby Pichu.

Pichu CANNOT learn Surf by itself.
