You know, you could cut the time in half if you have a few Dittos(for nature breeding).

After spending the past 8 hours chain breeding Porygon, I think the insanity finally got to me.

First off, I hatched a Porygon, my 20th today (probably more- I lost count). To check its IVs, I gave it my 24 Rare Candies, and plugged its stats into an IV Calculator. They sucked, so I released him straight off and began to hatch my next Porygon. When the next egg hatched, I saved my game and prepared to feed him my Rare Candies, when I realized that all my Rare Candies were gone. Sure enough, I had forgotten to reset the game after getting my Porygon's IVs, meaning those Candies are gone for good. Fortunately, I have Emerald, so I can clone as many Candies as I need, but I can only import 6 Candies a day to Pearl, so I won't be able to breed until next Tuesday.

Proof positive that I am an idiot.

Thanks alot. (I heard bout that somewhere but forgot. you'd think i would remember something like that)

Tried chaining again today. The best I did was 10 Staravias, till I ran into Pikachu. Next best was 8 Venomoths, until I ran into Roselia and 8 Oddish's, until I ran into Weepinbell.

I also evolved Finneon into Lumineon and am currently trying to evolve Skorupi into Drapion and Pineco into Forretress

Hatched a 31 Speed and Attack-IV Sneasel (Hasty Nature, would have preferred Jolly, but it's good enough for me) and an Impish 30 Defense and HP-IV Leech Seed Tangela today. Sneasel is now evolved and EV trained (still have to level it up until it learns Night Slash and have to teach it Swords Dance) and Tangela has almost been EV trained now; I just need around 80 more Defense EVs. Then I'll have to level it up, evolve it and level it a bit more so it learns Power Whip. What a pain. x___x

*edit* I almost forgot, I also EV trained my long-since IV bred Bronzor, which I've been too lazy to do before today.

I'm glad to see your determination, I got my first shinies and best chain with Doduo, I recommend starting with your swarm so long as it's in an area that you can see well.

Haha funny you should say that.

The swarm Pokemon for today was Swinub, which appears in the route towards Snowpoint, with the blizzard so I had absolutely no chance

I can't remember... is that the route west of Snowpoint? because I have managed a chain there, if it's the blizzard route where you evolve to Glaceon, You'd have to be god to chain there I swear, about as impossible for me in the sandstorm area, but I've been trying there, no luck except my just so happened to step into a shiny patch with Beldum in it, not expecting it at all and bam it's there, It was Adamant too =D!

Alright, time for an update.

Pearl

I spent only two days on Pearl since I got my fifth badge--which was about a month ago...

Day 1: I taught Surf to my Quagsire, then went to Jubilife City and surfed west. Once I got to Route 218 (I think that's what it was), I caught a Glameow and named her Minerva. It's about time I got a replacement for the Drifblim on my team anyways. (Gust and the Stockpile combo won't get her too far...) Welcome, Minerva, to the new team! Anyways, soon after I entered Canalave City for the first time, but I immediately went into battle with my rival. However, I don't really remember the battle as it was so long ago... After the battle, I just looked around Canalave City for a while.

Day 2: This was only a few days ago. I decided to explore Iron Island with my newly changed Pokemon team, which was still between levels 30 and 32. (Minerva was at level 30 when I caught her.) It's a good thing I had that little Glameow hold a Smoke Ball while I wandered through, else she would have been clobbered by the level 35 or so Graveler in there! Anyways, I wandered through the caves, battled a trainer or two (Minerva fainted during one of them...) Anyways, I then teamed up with Riley(?) and his Lucario, and battled some more trainers... and eventually two Galactic grunts. The battle with the grunts was fairly difficult, because not too far into the battle Lucario fainted, and I was left to battle one of my Pokemon against two of Galactic's--not to mention going up against level 34 Golbats and such. Quite a few of my Pokemon fainted, but my Luxray gained two levels from KOing most of their Pokemon... Anyways, after all was done, I received the Riolu egg from Riley... No wait, I didn't--my party was full! I had to go ALL the way back to the Pokemon centre to deposit one of my Pokemon, then head ALL the way back through Iron Island to find him again... But at least I got the egg---I didn't hatch it yet though. Also, on my way out of Iron Island, I received a Shiny Stone. That means I can evolve my Roselia! But I'll wait till he learns Aromatherapy beforehand.

Diamond

Now that I got my third badge, my goal is to get all 41 of my Pokemon to level 30. But the good thing was that badge #3 meant I could now use Fly. So I taught Fly to my Chatot and flew around to grow berries.

I grew berries all over the place for the longest time--most of what I grew were:

-Figy/Wiki/Mago/Aguav/Iapapa berries: These I found made good Poffins, as they have a better level-feel ratio than Spelons and such.
-Spelon/Pamtre/Watmel/Durin/Belue berries: I grew these to buy those rare accessories in Floaroma town. But I was sure to save some for making Poffins. (Good thing these plants can produce up to 15 berries!)
-New Sinnoh berries: Just to stock up on them. I currently have all of them except the Shuca, and I only have a few Occas as I got one just a few days before stopping my berry growing.
-Cornn berries: Because I needed 250 of them to buy a Cape accessory. I'm collecting all the accessories now...
-Lum berries: Just in case I need them. I think I currently have about 50.

I also tried some Super Contests! I spent some time looking through my Pokemon and found some contest-worthy ones... about ten to be exact. Nobody won the highest rank of contest yet, and only my Bronzor won a Hyper rank contest so far.

I finally decided that I wanted a Stunky after all... so I caught one and named her Stinkum. She's proven a pain to raise so far, but I bet things will get better once she learns Night Slash.

Right before getting my third badge, I levelled up a few of my Pokemon in the daycare. One of those Pokemon was my Pikachu, and I got creative and decided to put my Luxio in there as well. So therefore I got a baby Pichu that knows Charge. I named him Ringo and he's my pick for a Coolness contest because of his brave nature... Just recently he evolved to Pikachu.

Lately I've been training my Psychic/Ghost/Dark Pokemon in the Old Chateau, my Water/Grass Pokemon in the Ruin Maniac cave, and my Electric Pokemon in whatever that route is between Pastoria and Valor Lakefront. I've also been training some of the more difficult ones in the restaurant in Valor Lakefront. I also got a lot of money that way by giving one of my Pokemon an Amulet Coin.

But something surprising also happened just recently. I was doing some training in the Old Chateau, and found a shiny Gastly!!! I was careful not to KO it, but putting it to sleep and using a Repeat Ball (because I already have Gastly) proved good enough. Wow, that WAS a surprise!

I just found a shiny Roselia on a chain of 13. I was originally going to chain Porygon, but couldn't find one so I just went with Roselia instead.

Tried chaning again last night. Best chains were 8 Ponytas and surprisingly 7 Chanseys.

After that the highest I got was like 3 so I decided to take on the Elite 4 and my Charmeleon evolved into Charizard

I chained Zangoose up to 40, surprisingly it wasn't a hard thing to chain, as I just had to reset my DS a lot, I'm currently at 40 and reseting my radar hoping a shiny comes up soon >.< I hate having to leave my DS on all night plugged in until I get home from school...

Yesterday night I couldn't get any sleep so I began chaining Ralts. I easily got the chain to 40, found a shiny in 10 minutes and resetted the radar for an hour without finding a shiny. Then I began chaining a bit more and got the chain to 60 before it broke. Same thing happened with my Roselia. I resetted the radar a couple of hundred times at 40 and couldn't find a shiny so I chained up to 90 before it broke. I wish I had a bit more luck with resetting the radar. <.<

I've noticed you two talking a lot about 'resetting the radar'

What do you mean?

Basically it means charging the battery on it by walking 50 steps then using it again.

When you hit Y it will say walk X steps, when you do it's called resetting the pokeradar.

Okay everyone just felt like bragging a little bit, but i just caught regigas in one Quick ball, and i got a 100 win streak in the battle tower. Yay for me :):P

O_O I'm seriously having a "What the heck?" moment... I just walked into a normal patch and BAM! shiny Meditite, I was on a chain of 4 and the patch didn't sparkle... that's just weird...

*jaw drop* it's jolly...

well, the normal patches have the 1/8275(i think)chance of being shiny, so it's possible

anyway, today i chained a Pikachu up to 19, and a patch sparkled, but i forgot to use a Repel again, so i missed out on my shiny
