Pokémon Valley is a Pokémon fansite that has been running for the past two and a half years. We have had our ups and downs, but currently I know that not many people are viewing the site. It would be great to get more people to look at the site, and comment on the work we have done. We do not have a lot of content up currently, as my main focus was to get the layout looking nice in order to then work on lots of detailed content.

The content we do have on our site is very detailed, and has taken a lot of time and effort to write. For instance the Sinnoh Underground guide is a very large guide that took two hours to complete, but when I finished creating it I was proud to see the end product. We are currently working on a project that is taking shape very well, and should be done in February next year.

In this thread it would be wonderful if you could comment on the site, and the content. And maybe give us a few ideas on how to improve the site, and improve our content. You may also want to request a piece of content to be written, as we will take all suggestions in to account. Thank you for your time.

I like your ideas for the website. (7/10)
And your layout is pretty good too. (8/10)
Hope you finish soon. Overall (8/10)

    The site overall is fine.

The layout is fine... but it just looks really dull. That makes it not very welcoming to people. It's boring.

Your content seems nice though, and I see that you're taking the content very seriously. That's good. Just remember that aesthetics is a big part of whether your viewers like your site or not. It's a big part of what makes them "keep coming back to there". :3

Think of things that other sites of the same nature do not have. For instance, what would make people want to come back to Pokemon Valley instead of Serebii and those other Serebii duplicates?

    Overall, nice site.

all i could say is to finish your content
everything else is pretty solid - including your layout

Cherii: Thankyou for the tip, I think the project that we are working on will be one of those things, as I know Serebii don't have it. They have a variation of it, but we will be supplying a lot more information compared to what they are at the current moment in time. Although I am constantly thinking about what will add uniqueness to the site, so sooner or later there may be a great idea popping into my head, well that is defiantly something I hope for.

PokeMartCorp.: I will get straight on with it, I feel determined to do things when I know other people will like it. And you have made me more determined to complete more pages now that I know people are looking at the site and they like it.

Thank you to both of you =D.

    Hooray, a site to review. :D But not with stars this time - I cbb uploading them again. XD;

    Layout
Your layout is very clean and clear. Your navigation isn't confused, and the top blends in with the rest of the layout very well. Now, it is not a brilliant layout that will make visitors go "holy @#&!", but don't feel disheartened: that's not at all necessary. Ultimately, your layout serves its purpose: to give an aesthetically pleasing, clean framework for your content.

    Atmosphere
There are a few grammatical errors in the site, but they don't really detract from the atmosphere. One example of this is on the Johto Pokédex page, when you say "Below is a long list of all the Poémon inthe new Johto Pokédex", when it should be "Below is a long list of all the Pokémon in the new Johto Pokédex".

Although you manage to convey your site in an informative manner, I can't help but think that a little more personality in your writing wouldn't be amiss. Now, since your site is mainly informative, this is only an extra to add on - not a necessity.

    Originality
Now, a lot of your content is easily available elsewhere, and this is where you fall down a bit. The trouble with informative sites is that they immediately pit themselves against giants like SPP and Bulbapedia. You do offer a lot that start-up sites don't offer, and that gets you bonus points here, as well as having a reasonably original layout. But you need to figure out what you can offer that no other site can, or be able to offer it in an original way. You're not alone, here: many Pokémon websites suffer from this problem.

    [ 2½ / 5 ]

    Informative Content
You're doing well here. You have a good amount of content, and the quality, originality aside, seems to be pretty good. You do need to go a little bit deeper, but a lot wider. This is OK, though - for a startup site, you're doing well so far. ^^

    Overall

Don't worry about the two 4s I gave you - in my rating system, a four indicates that for a startup site, you're doing well. Fives are only given where they are truly extraordinary. You're also doing well in the content section. The most pressing issue for you right now is to up your originality so people will have to come to your site in order to see a certain thing, because they can't get it anywhere else. But overall, you're doing well. ^_^

    Skylar: Thank you =D.

Citrinin: Thank you for the time you took to do a review of the site, it will be really useful in helping me create more of what people want to see.

I see that the main thing I need to work on is something original, I'm up for any ideas from you guys, but I will also be thinking. Thanks =D

Skylar: Yeah I am the owner =D

UPDATE: Content will be added today, I am working on some now. Would everyone be able to say what content they would like to see on pv? Thanks

    Sorry for the double post.

BJ088: Thank you very much =D

Piplup Trainer: Thank you for the offer, but we currently have enough writers for now. Also we got hosting by contacting Eevee-Chan of Eevee's HQ. Thanks for the interest =D

    No prob!
I might need some help >.> Did you see Sora Mararu's site page on here? Eternal Pokemon? Check it out and you will see. I am helping him run it. [Lucario is my username]

Youji: I sure do, thanks for getting us where we got today, as I doubt it would be as cool without you're ideas =D.

I have updated with HGSS news, we will start our coverage very soon, and pages will start going up later tonight. I have completed a PokeWalker page ready to go up. There is also a Additions and Improvements from G/S. And eventually I will have the legendary Pokemon and Gym Rosters. Thanks
