How many of you enjoy sleeping? Better yet, let me rephrase that, how many of you enjoy finding time to sleep? For me, I always try to find some time during the day to take some form of a nap, whether for a few hours or just a few minutes. As you can probably guess though, that really throws off my sleep schedule and at times will keep me up till the wee hours of dawn or has me in bed at 8 at night as if I'm an elder (no offense to those elders out there - got things to do, people to see)

    Spoiler:

Sleep is a natural phenomenon; our bodies run on a 24 hour-circadian rhythm - almost like a recycling metronome - where our body goes into sleep mode to allow our muscles to recuperate and to restore our potential energy levels. However, my question to y'all (you'll figure out very quickly that even though I am from Boston, I do like to say "y'all" a lot) is what if we could eliminate this need? What if instead of only being up for say, 14 hours a day, we could stay up the full 24 hours with no need to reboot?

    Spoiler:

Of course, this is all hypothetical. There is physically no way we could constantly stay up. Our bodies would physically force us to sleep due to fatigue, but this is a great question to ask. Personally, I feel like there is way too many things that need to be done - shows to watch, skills that I wish I had the time to acquire (I'm looking at you you damn acoustic guitar that's sitting in the corner). As a second year college student - and I'm sure many adults feel the same way - I feel like I'm stuck in a vicious cycle; wake up, go to class, come home, eat, do homework, rinse, repeat. I find that the balance between work and fun is generally skewed, and I honestly believe that many of us miss the little things in life due to our inability to manage time, sleep, and our social lives.

    Spoiler:

So I leave you with these questions. If you had the ability to eliminate sleep, would you? Or do you feel that sleep is something that is not just physically necessary but therapeutic as well? How would you spend your +8 extra hours if you could eliminate sleep? Any traits/skills that you wish you could hone? As always, post your comments how you feel below!

Come on back tomorrow as this is a daily thing, where I spew whatever nonsense I may be thinking about at the end of each day. Hope you guys enjoy, and if you want me to touch on a specific subject send me a PM and I'll glady do such! Peace!
