3rd Gen Smeargle?

As I have always thought, smeargle is only capable of using sketch, no other moves, no tm/hm's.
But, in the multi-link room at battle frontier(emerald).
Someone used a smeargle with fake out and extreemspeed.
How is this possible?

when smeargle uses sketch, it copies that move. it can sketch more than one with the "move relearner" teaching it sketch again.
so smeargle is capable of learning any move.

It didn't use sketch at all during the match.
And, no one used fake out or extreemspeed.

It learns it permanently when it does sketch, the trainer simply had used Sketch before the battle.

It can only have one Sketch at a time, but learns one every 10 levels, from Level 1. You can also go to the Move Tutor, once you have used your Sketch up, and teach it to your Smeargle again.

Last question, if you link battle and use sketch, will you still be able to use the move you sketched?
