Smile!

Erm... well, since my old art thread ended up dying, I've decided that from now on I'll just post drawings that I like in their own individual threads. XD (And don't worry--there won't be very many!)

This is one that I was really pleased with, despite the fact that I'd have liked to have spent more time coloring it. I'm also still trying to figure out how I managed to make the moon look so... not round, lol. Still, this is what you get!

The characters are from the animanga series Full Moon wo Sagashite, and they're some of my all-time favorites. :3 I got the idea for the name of the picture from one of the songs that the main character sings, called "Smile". It's so cute!

Kayleigh~ :D That's gorgeous! You have such a natural talent, and I envy it very much. :x I'd like to give you some constructive criticism, but I don't know what I'm looking at besides a pretty picture. So all I can do is request more!

Eee, thanks Abby. X3 I'm so glad that you like it! I know that I definitely made a few mistakes while drawing it, and now I regret some of the color choices that I made... Plus, I can't really see Mitsuki wearing an outfit like that, but whatever, lol.

Nevertheless, your comment made me so happy! :D Thank you, thank you, thank you. <3

Aww, but it's such a cute outfit! Probably something that you'd wear. XD; You can draw people so well. o__o And those wings! How long did that take?

That's true! (Does it even match, though, lol? XD I have no sense of color coordiantion.)

As for the wings... they probably took longer than anything else in the picture to draw, which was about 15-20 minutes or so. x_x; At first I was going to try to make them really detailed like Arina Tanemura does in the Full moon manga, but I sort of gave up after a while. I then just added some silver coloring with a Hello Kitty crayon. 'Cause I only use the BEST tools for artists! XD

Wow. That's amazing! The wings look pretty detailed to me...and Takuto and Meroko in the background look so cute! I love the anime, too, so obviously, great job! <33

What did you draw it with, anyway?

moon? I thought someone was throwing a rock at her~ :x
I'm amazed how I could miss such talent you have, especially just by taking a narrow look upon this forum. I love the detail, shading, white little creatures...

So well, I sadly ignore a lot of things when it comes to drawing critique, but at least I know enough to admit this is wonderful work~ Great job!

Aww, thank you... Lily? XD Cute username! <3

As for what I used, I first sketched everything out in pencil and then inked it with my Faber-Castell pigment ink pen, then added most of the color with the Letraset markers that my friend from England sent me. I added extra detail, especially to the hair, with some coloring pencils... and wrote "Smile!!" on her hand with a red pen. X3 And, of course, used a cute Hello Kitty crayon for the silvery wings.

Once again, thanks so much! :D

I had never really thought about it looking that way before, but... you're right. XD Ack, that looks so weird.

Anyway, thank you so much! Even if you had critiqued it in some way, I'd still appreciate your comment because all of the advice helps me to learn even more. I'm just glad that you do think that it turned out okay--your compliments made my day! =3
