I have always disliked the premade smilies so when you type in ":D" you get that weird toothy grin.. never liked those.
I do also dislike the ^^ and the ^-^ and such.. but I'm fine with most others. It just kind of makes your how you fell about something clearer. This is good to avoid misunderstandings. (I've had a few)
I stopped using them.. I'll seldom use things like XD T_T <3 and such, but not very often. I find them tolerable as long as they're not overused, and are understandable, so I won't have to search the internet to actually understand what that emoticon means. What I really dislike is people replying solely with emoticons. It's really annoying for me.
I do not use picture smilies, because I hate them with a passion, they're annoying and I disabled them.
I use text smilies a lot, because I love to use them and they show more emotion then picture smilies, in my opinion.
I never liked using smileys in my posts. It just never caught on for me, although, I like to see them in other people's posts (I know this probably sounds hypocritical).
I wouldn't mind using smilies on pc I just don't like the set you guys have right now. Unlike jigglypuff8 I tend to use the mainstream text based smilies more often than their lesser used counterparts. My personal favorites are :) :( :> D: :D.
