I just finished up evolving a Dragonite this weekend after playing the game for a month. I really didnt agressively hunt for Dratini until I got close enough to finish. Now I'm working on other goals ...

#1 - Find a source for Charmander to evolve into Charizard ... I already have some 2K Flareons, but I would like to add another great Fire Type to my collection.

#2 - Keep finding enough Dratini to keep my Dragonite maxed out

#3 - Keep farming Magikarp for yet another Gyarados

#4 - Find a source for Nidoran to evvolve into NidoKing

#5 - It should go without saying ... keep knocking down those lame arse Mystic and Instinct Gyms!

For now I'm just keeping working towards catching every available Pokemon, I'm on 111 now. I will keep doing gyms at the moment to get coins for incubators to try to get more 10k eggs but since it's so hard to hold gyms then I don't think I will bother with that for a while once I've caught them all.
PvP battles might help get me motivation back after that but all the people I would battle against are a long way behind me so most likely will be not as active until gen 2 gets released

For now i just want to catch whatever i can get, and hit level 30, i am at level 24 now.

Sure, i like rare pokemon, but level 30 is my priority, so i just grind spots where i get many pigeots and weedle and caterpie and rattata.

(I am currently level 20...not far from 21.)

    1. Catch more Magikarp for candy to level up my Gyarados. I just got a Gyarados. The positive thing is that it has 100% IVs and Water Pulse. The disappointing thing is that it has a CP of only 1344. Use the stardust I have, and earn more. The immediate goal is to level it up to 1800, and then more as I can.

    2. Continue to work towards getting the strongest creatures in the game (combined stats). Find nests for Dratini, Growlithe, Bulbusaur, Squirtle, etc.. Find or hatch Snorlax, so I can level my Snorlax up. Evolve and power up my pokemon as I am able.

    3. Continue to add to my pokedex through evolving, eggs, and the wild. I am currently at 78.

    4. Continue to farm my favorite area for pokestops, and to gain mileage for my eggs.

    5. Continue to fight/train in gyms, though this isn't 1st priority. I only have so much time for PG; so, for now, this will take a back seat to some other goals. But I will get in them when I can, for the experience and stardust.

    6. I am not really worried about leveling up. I've stopped using lucky eggs. I feel like now that as I work towards my goals, leveling up will come naturally. It seems to be happening that way now.

Hitting lv. 20. I haven't found many new things to get me more experience and don't want to use a Lucky Egg on an evolving spree yet since I feel I don't have enough Pokémon. Really really close so I should have that today or tomorrow at the very latest if we don't go out again tonight. No goals otherwise... Except get a Lapras maybe but with my luck it won't happen for a while. D:

60 evolutions is realistic for the 30 minute window, if you can click fast. The animation takes the bulk of the time with around 25 seconds. If you are really fast at navigating to the next pokemon and are well-prepared and disciplined, maybe 63 to 65 is possible.

Sending away pokemon for more candy to squeeze in more evolution based on the candy you get from sending them away takes too much time, do that after the egg ran out. It needs to be select, evolve, select next one, evolve, select next one, evolve, select next one, evolve.

So have 65 evolutions ready, activate the egg, and do not feel bad if you only get 60 or 61 or 62 evolutions in. Its a big boost, you obviously want many of the evolutions that only cost 12 or 25 candy. For weedle and caterpie and pigey, obviously only do the first evolution.

Recently there was a bug, i do not know if its fixed now, giving you one candy whenever you do an evolution, so basically they only cost 11 or 24 now.

My first evolve session was something like 8 caterpie, 20 weedle, 22 pigey, and 10 rattata. I had more rattata and candy, but ran out of time after exactly 60.

My last one, after being much more experienced, was 1 spearow 1 zubat 1 oddish 1 paras 1 venonat 1 psyduck 3 drowzee 1 krabby 1 goldeen 6 caterpie 17 weedle 17 pidgey and 11 rattata, in that order. I got in a bit more than 60, even with so many 1-offs, because i clicked faster and prepared better.

To save precious time, you obviously need to write down what you want to evolve and be properly prepared, make sure you have enough of the candy types you need, and not waste time browsing and searching around in your collection.

It is the best possible use for a lucky egg, unless you want to do the whole thing while walking to add egg hatching. Catching pokemon or leaving your collection to spin a pokestop just wastes time. So stop evolving without lucky egg, write down what you want to evolve for your next lucky egg sessions, and farm these weedles and pidgeys and caterpies. Evolutions that add a new pokemon to your pokedex should be added, if possible, for an extra boost.

If you are lvl20 now and have kept all your lucky eggs, the 60-65 evolutions lucky egg evolve sessions will carry you to 25 before you run out of lucky eggs.

So start writing down evolutions that you have ready on a sheet of paper, keep doing it, and once you have 62-65 evolutions ready (just in case you get fast on your first try, anything above 60 is good), just do it. At home, with wireless lan, preferrably late at night when the servers run flawlessly smooth.

Level 20 is rather easy, above level 20 it gets tough, and then you really need the evolve sessions, and between the evolve sessions, you need to catch pokemon in large numbers. So you want to hang out at the spots where 3 or 4 pokestopes with active lures are nearby and where 20-150 other pokemon go players are hanging out, at those spots you can catch around one per minute or one every two minutes.

I'd like to find a higher IV carp so I can finally evolve my first Gyrados (sitting on 550+ candies). I'd also like to find a Dratini nest as I've only caught a half dozen over the last 40 days and at this rate I'll have the dragon in a year or two :p.
