he i just started diamond agian and i picked chimchar this time and im in orebrugh and what do you think i should do. i have a level 12 chimchar do you think i should
1)evole chimchar to learn a fighting move
2)catch machamp rasie till strong then teach rock smash?

Machamp because he's actually good. But rather than Rock Smash I think Submission or Karate Chop or something like that.

I think you should just do both anyways
If Chimchar is gonna be on your main party i wouldn't teach it any HM moves though o3o

thats what i mean chimchar evoles into a fighting/fire type so it would learn a fighting move anyway but if i train machamp it would mean that i have 2 fightings at the high levels

Evolve Chimchar, I'm pretty sure Inferape is faster than Machamp.

They're both decent. Infernape has a higher potential stat total, though. Comes down to whichever one you dig more, I suppose. Personally, I caught a zubat and beat the game with Crobat easily. Finished out at level 75 or something. Also, infernape has decent sp atk AND atk, whereas Machamp only has decent atk... And infernape is faster.

    They're both still viable, though.

I'd just evolve Chimchar. I don't see the point of raising another fighting pokemon when Chimchar will evolve into one with the move Mach punch. I did that and it worked out fine.

I think if I were you, I'd train that Chimchar up nice and strong and teach it a good fighting move. That's a little easier than trying to get a Machamp this early in the game, and training the Chimchar worked perfectly for me. I picked Chimchar in Diamond Version, too! ^^

I just depends if you like having DynamicPunch never miss at the cost of attacks directed towards you never missing either.

Machoke is practical in foggy areas, at the condition that it has No Guard.

I would just level up Infernape becasue of its speed/attack base stats. And really, there isnt much need for two fighting types.
    Good luck :)
