What Pokemon do you think shouldn't have been Flying Types?
I'm not really sure which Pokémon that should've been flying types, but I can mention a few I think shouldn't.

The birds that don't have wings, or whose wings aren't big or strong enough to carry them wouldn't really have any possible way of flying, and therefore they don't really qualify for flying types imo. The ones I'm talking about are Doduo, Dodrio and Delibird. Doduo and Dodrio may have enough reason for being Flying types, as the Flying types were originally Bird types in the first games, but the typing was changed to Flying for some reason or another. Now I'm not sure about this, since the only evidence is in Missingno, which was a Bird/Normal dual-type.

Another one is Scyther, which also is a reasonable Flying type, but I honestly think it would be better off as a Grass type :I

I guess Mantine, Mantyke and Gyarados shouldn't be Flying-types.
Gyarados 'cuz I think the Dragons can fly too, don't you?

And why is a Manta ray a flying-type?

it's kind of a pity that it's a flying type.

Most definitely true on this one. Gyarados should not be a flying type, but he is because in Gen I they didn't want a Water/Dragon because they thought it would be overpowered... since it wouldn't be weak to any attacks, since Dragon Rage (the only Dragon attack in Gen I) does a consistent 40 damage. They didn't change this in Gen II because they introduced Kingdra, who is Water/Dragon and didn't want to change Gyarados into a Kingdra clone.

Name: Jellicent♀
Partner Pokemon: Valentine, the Pidove

I have this hidden love for flying types. So useful, so speedy, and very graceful (most of the times).

I agree fully with Gyarados not being a Flying type. It's a terrible combo with it's water type, and not only that, it's much more of a dragon than anything.

Whimsicott seems like it should be a Flying type as well. I have always gotten a Flying type vibe from it.

Really? I have that feeling too! I guess Whimiscott is like Hoppip, a flower/piece of cotton flying xD

welcome jellicent :DDDDDDD
its good to see that you love lying types so much c:
I KNOW RIGHT gyarados's typing makes it 4x weak to electric attacks :o
i agree with you about whimsicott (: i mean even hoppip has a flying typing.

@greg sorry i haven't been doing my job well OTL

That pic is so cute!
And exactly on the Whimsicott thing. When I first saw Cottonee I actually got excited for a new Grass/Flying! But oh well, it's still adorable.

Another Pokemon that confused me was Dragonair. before I even found it's type I watched the movie I saw it flying HIGH in the sky. So of course, I immediately thought it could learn Fly. And with Clefairy and Clefable being able to fly in the anime and manga, again, I thought they could, too. All I gotta say, is that if they're going to show them flying, let their type be flying, or let them learn it. :c

pidgey evolution line, of course! :D
first bird pokemon i ever used. they're the best and will always be \(OuO)/
*whispers* staraptor is really cool too :DDDDDDD

I like the Starly line the best. Staraptor just plain looks awesome and is quite a powerful fighter, unlike... pretty much every other bird. I find Pidgeot and Unfezant to be quite weak, but Staraptor actually has a place in competitive battling, even if it is BL. I find its ability Reckless to be quite useful with Brave Bird and Double-Edge while holding a Life Orb. Of course, it won't last that long, but boy does it hit hard.

I like these little cuties better. I love their movepool, their natural ability to learn Attract (one of my favorite moves), and their design. Butterfree is adorable, too, but I prefer Beautifly. c:
Plus it gets Giga Drain naturally, which has become a beat-mode move in Gen V.

Basically the same as ikaroschase here. I'm a big fan of the first generation Pokémon and I love Butterfree's design so so much. I don't really like how Beautifly just seems to be stealing Butterfree's concept and I never particularly cared for Mothim, so I'm going 100% with Butterfree ;)
