Hey myrrhman!!! Ill join this challenge too =]
My solo runner is Mareep. I will not evolve it.
Updates:
-chose cyndaquil as my starter
-fetched an egg
-beat my rival
-Sharked a lvl 2 female Mareep
-Caught it easily
-Named it Flice
-beat sprout tower easily
-beat the first gym
-receied egg from Elm.

i play this game alot so i will update almost everyday
=]

Nvm i accidentaly evolved it so i guess ill do an ampharos run =]

@ Hax, as you may be aware, I am doing Monotype runs for every type in every generation. I think that when I'm done with that, I will move on to solos. That will be a pain...

So, I started out the game and picked Chikorita (so I could easily beat my rival with poliwag)

I looked around the route after cherrygrove, since I do not know how to work this gameshark I have (unless you guys wanna tell me how to use it)

Anyways I caught it and nicknamed it Poli-x. I moved on towards Violet city, where I declined battling sprout tower, and instead moved on to training at the gym. I won the battle at the gym with a combination of Hypnosis and Bubble.

I then moved down to Azalea where I trained with Pokemon (what else could I train with?) I then easily defeated Scyther >:]

Hey guys heres another update!!!!
P.S-i was able to beat th whole game within 5-6 hours =]. Funnest 5-6 hours of my life.
-I got my second badge with ease, although i really hate Fury Cutter =[
-Beat my Rival at the passage to ilex forest
-Got my third badge, REALLY HATE ROLLOUT!!!!!! >=[
-Grinded until lvl 30
-Taught thunderpunch to Ampharos
-Went to Ecruteak city after beating the sudowoodo
-Beat my rival in burnt tower
-Got my fourth badge from morty
-Continued down to olivine city
-Went to sandlewood ( or whatever the name ) City and beat chuck and got The sick Ampharos' medicine
-went back and challenged jasmine
-Failed 4 times because the stupid Steelix!!!!!!!
-Grinded to lvl 50
-Lost again
-Grinded to lvl 55
-Lost again
-Figured out a strategy ( i would buy a whole bunch of hyper potions and stall him into using struggle so he killed himself )
-Failed 2 times but it worked the third time and i got my badge
-Now my pokemon is horribly over lvled
-Continued to the ice badge town ( the one with the ice badge )
-Went to lake of rage and OHKO the Gyarados with thunder punch
-Teamed up with lance and infiltrated the rocket radio signal thingy
-Beat pryce ( thanks to headbutt and strength )
-Made my way to the Dragon badge town
-Easily went through the gym and 2HKO 2 of Claires 3 dragon-types
-went to the dragon cave thing and answered a bunch of questions
-Got my eigth gym badge
-now i have to make my way to the Elte four
-I Beat all the trainers that wanted to Challeng ( Got a girls phone number too =] )
-Easily went through victory road
-Took down my rival ( used 5 hyper potions XD )
-Challenged the elite four
-got passed the first guy, but Koga kept kicking my butt with poison
-bought 12 antidotes and took down koga
-But now the fighting type guy has an onyx and i cant do anything to it =[
-So i lost and i taught my Ampharos Iron Tail and beat the fighting type guy.
-The dark type lady went down easil becaus i just used thunderpunch and it was mostly 2HKO.
-Now its Lance and i have only 12 Combined PP:
0/15 strength
0/15 Headbutt
6/15 Iron Tail
6/15 Thunder punch
-but i rememered i have 62 hyper potions.
-So i take out 3 of his pokemon and use struggle to take out the last ones and now im pokemon league champion!!!!!!!!

I cant remember if i have to beat red to complete this challenge... Could u plz tell me?

I saved pictures for Clair, Lance, Surge, Sabrina and Misty but my computer was so crazy that he deleted them. So, after beating Misty, this is where I got Partner to :

:t160: Partner (Feraligatr) Lv. 70 Slash, Surf, Bite, Ice Punch

Now, greater coverage means better chances, right ? So, yeah, my next update will have the analysis of beating Red with comments all over !

PS : The fact that Feraligatr doesn't learn Crunch and Ice Fang in GSC sucks ...

Picked Totodile as starter, went to Mr. Pokemon's house and stole his egg, returned to Elm, got Pokeballs!, then finally caught Scizor :D Named her Rawr! Btw, I love the speed function on VBA, going 4000% speed is super fun :)
Holy crap accidentally forgot to turn off the scizor cheat and found a SHINY SCIZOR! But I ran out of balls trying to catch it! D: Oh well...
Wow my scizor is overpowered, most attacks deal like 1 damage. Easily defeated the Sprout Tower, poor Bellsprouts getting OHKO'd.
Alright, Lvl12 Rawr going to defeat the first gym :D
Lol after one sand-attack Rawr missed 3 times in a row.
Now Rawr is Lvl13:

Beat Kanto, wow what a joke. Rawr is Lvl77 now. Red should be cake.
Or not... that freaking Charizard flamethrower OHKO's me every time... I don't know what to do...
Ok trained Rawr to Lvl90 gonna tackle this again.
Yay got a crit on Red's Charizard and the rest of his team was easy!

*HUGE UPDATE*

- Beaten every Johto Gym
- Defeated Rival in Victory Road
- I have beaten the Elite Four, including Lance.
- I am now in Kanto. I have defeated Lt. Surge with Fire Punch and Psychic
- I have defeated Sabrina with Shadow Ball (hehe :) )
- I'm planning to replace Dynamicpunch with Thunder Punch or Ice Punch due to Dynamicpunch having a 50% hit rate.

- I did not end up teaching Hypno Thunderpunch.

Thank you for this, I had a lot of fun doing this :) I'm going back to play Kanto in Heart Gold I might continue doing Solo Runs, this was my first one :D

Update #1

Spoiler:

- Chose Chickorita as starter
- Caught a lvl 2 Dratini named Wanda
- Spent forever getting her up to lvl 15 to learn Twister (she only knew wrap 15 dmg and misses alot)
- Got Twister and raped all the the trainers thanks to a 10 lvl advantage
- Mopped the Sprout tower all OHKO except the damn Hoot-Hoot
- Beat the gym all OHKO except Pidgeotto
- Went and got swift from the cave and taught it to Wanda
- Cleared team rocket out and Wanda learned Dragon Rage
- Beat my rival with Dragon Rage
- Beat Bugsy with Dragon Rage

- Got Charcoal from some kid for saving his job or something
- Beat a bunch of trainers, and got some lady's phone number which im too lazy to delete
- Evolved Wanda into a Dragonair
- Spanked Whitney so hard that she cried until he friend reassured her that it was ok
- Beat my rival again, wasn't very hard to do, he really can't touch me
- Trained Wanda up alot
- Beat Morty mostly with Twister, used a bit of Dragon Rage too

- Went to Olivine city, was told to go train in the lighthouse by my rival, so I decided to follow his advice
- Went through the lighthouse and got to the top, aparantly there is a sick pokemon that needs my help
- Caught tentacool as an HM slave until I catch red garados
- Forgot to get Strength so when I went to get potion for Amphy I couldn't beat the gym.
- Went back to olivine and gave Amphy his medicine, then decided I didnt want to go back to Cianwood yet
- Went to the lake of rage and tried to catch Gyrados, but he almost fainted me so I killed it instead
- Followed Lance to rocket hideout

- Destroyed Pryce with Fire Punch/Thunder Punch
- Went and cleared the rockets out of the Radio tower
- Smashed the 8th gym (can't remember the name) with Outrage
- Beat the Elite Four without items

- Went to Mt. Silver
- Went to fight this Picnicker Lisa or something who kept phoning me every three minutes
- Went back to Mt. Silver and crushed Red, used a bitter berry to solve confusion from using Outrage
