Does anyone think that some pokemon should be only one gender.....Like Blissey.....But The whole Machop-Machamp evolutions are just awkward......So is Golem.....Any one have ideas?

I was kind of shocked when Scyther was female... But that's not really too bad a choice.
    I dunno...
I thought Volbeat should be both sexes, because I do not like Illumise.

Blissey is female-only, and I think the Machop family is male-only (either that or primarily male)

Here's a fun one: Despite its feminine appearance, Hitmonchan is a male-only pokemon. :P

    Lopunny. Lop-freakin'-punny. Female only!

Unfortunately (and rather ironically), this would devalue Lopunny in the breeding field, as it would only be able to produce Buneary.

I never thought Hitmonchan looked all that female... maybe just me.

Male Kirlias shouldn't exist, I think. Ralts is still okay.

I think Gardevoir should all be male. That way, there are fewer deranged fanboys who write fanfics about them and their forbidden love with that... Thing.

Lol KINGdra, seaKING, both these pokemon are both sexes but does anyone think they should just be male for their name, like the Mr.Mime crisis?

Mr. Mime doesn't have the gender-suggestive moniker in other nations, only here. So it's not really a big issue, and with some work a female Mr. Mime with obvious gender differences would be easy enough to produce. (I thought for awhile that Jynx was the female counterpart to Mr. Mime)

The term "king" is not gender-suggestive. A king is simply a monarchic ruler of a particular nation. It is only in recent times that it came to suggest males, since only recently have females lost much of their rights and equality granted in ancient cultures. Note that many women took the throne of king in ancient Egypt, but you don't see them called "Pharess" or anything.

When I think of a female Machoke or Machamp, I picture it having breasts and wearing a one-piece bikini type of deal. GF just needs to have the guts to make a radical gender-difference like that, or go all-out and ret-con the past games so they were all male and make female counterparts.

All of these should be true, except the male Gardevoir. Yes, I want the sick fanfics to stop. No, I don't think Gardevoir should be male at all. Oh, and the male volbeat thing. I just don't really like that idea. Let's see. I think that Hypno/Drowsee's line should just be male(I have a hard time imagining them female), Igglybuff's line female(They just all look female. And not just because they're pink), Slowking should just be male(Slowking) Slaking only male (as I just said), maybe Mawile only female(Mawiles remind me of Kirlia for some reason), and Roserade only female(kind of like Gardevoir) .

A response to your bolded claim above your own post.

I kind of knew that as I have seen what I posted in a different thread, though it does kind of seem natural that they refer them as male, as of Nidoqueen and Nidoqueen, all the one gender.
And I think that maybe the people that name the pokemon should be more careful on calling the pokemon names that don't confuse genders.

Guys, parthenogenesis is not a very efficient way to give rise of offspring.

Oh. Well, they just look male too. If they looked unisex, then I guess I wouldn't have a problem with it.

    EDIT: Wow, ninja'd twice.

Consider yourself lucky that you weren't around PC when it first began. There was a fan artist around here, Iveechan, that specialized in drawing such gender differences oin her favorite pokemon. As creative and artistic as it was, it came off as kinsda...fetishist when I looked at them. XD

I've always thought that Gorebyss and Huntail should be gender-specific evolutions of Clamperl. Males evolve into Huntail and females evolve into Gorebyss. XP

On the contrary, I for one would like to see a female version of Machoke. [/shot]

    *ahem*

As well as the Pokemon that should have one gender, there are some that really should have two. >_> Some of them including Darkrai (obvious counterpart to Cresselia which is female only, plus Darkrai's more masculine characteristics)

That actually makes sense. People are always going on about legendaries not having genders, but I feel some of the newer ones should.

They're not really Pokemon so much as actual gods or titans, and myth is rife full of sexual symbolism and everything. For Cresselia and Darkrai, it would be a duality akin to "sun" and "moon", which is fitting. Others, like Shaymin, could be "male" in the sense that they "have sex with the earth" (fertilize it), while Manaphy could be "female" in that is gives life to the earth (water gives birth to life).

I also think Mew should act like Ditto. I mean, why not? Be another feature to make him worthwhile, and the same rules would apply: no breeding legendaries.
