    No. This isn't a new problem but a moderator said I should bring this up. Some moderators can send me visitor messages while some can't. I don't get it. And I don't know what the problem is. Perhaps I messed up my privacy policy settings? But that can't be it...and any rank above moderator can VM but only certain mods can VM me. I don't get this at all in any way. (And none of them are on my contact list.) Is there any way to fix this?


     
    I couldn't VM you until you sent me a friend request, even after I was modded, if memory serves. So maybe that's the problem. Check your messaging settings here and your privacy settings here. Can normal members VM you?
     
    Which ones can VM you and which ones can't? It should be all or nothing, I think. Your settings are definitely set to allow VMs just from contacts/mods. Maybe when the setting says "mods" it really means smods or higher. Are all the mods (as opposed to higher staff) who can VM you on your list?

    edit: Yeah, okay, I tested it out. Moderators have to be on your contact list in order to see your VMs/contact you via VM. But smods or higher can override that and VM you anyway, presumably because they mod the entire forum (thus have the power to see your VMs to moderate them).

    Anyone who is on my friends list can VM me. And anyone who isn't with the exception of some section mods can.

    Moderators such as Meganium90, Oli and Shining Raichu can. But other section moderators can't because I keep getting Pms from mods saying: "your VMs are closed." And whatnot. I changed my settings to "everyone" in privacy policy let's see what that does.

    I tested it out. Moderators have to be on your contact list in order to see your VMs/contact you via VM. But smods or higher can override that and VM you anyway, presumably because they mod the entire forum (thus have the power to see your VMs to moderate them). If you want mods to be able to VM you, you'll have to add them to your contact list like any other member. (They can still PM you, though.)
     
    Well, I was able to VM them without being on their friend list. Though that may have something to do with the fact that I was modded by Audy, and it seems that the moderators who were modded by Audy were given permissions that moderators who were modded by for example Geoff don't have, like editing VM's, and being able to VM members who have VM's enabled for contacts only it seems.

    Ah, that's a setting you have to check off specifically when modding someone and for some reason we don't have a list of what the settings are supposed to be so depending who mods you, everyone sort of gets different powers to some extent.

    ...I guess that's something we should be looking into! Glad this came up then.
