Some transfer rewards low?

So I've been playing Pokemon Go for about 2 days now and I've managed to evolve a Pidgey and I'm currently trying to evolve my Pidgeotto. I think it's cool that they've decided to just have candies for the 1st evolution (ex. pidgey candies) but when I went and caught another Pidgeotto I sort of expected to get more than 1 Pidgey candie for transferring it. What are your thoughts on this? Do you think you should get a bigger reward for transferring a 2nd evolution? 2 or 3 candies possibly?

I think it's fine for now to have the amount low. It might be a little frustrating because everyone is rushing to evolve their Pokemon, but if the game is going to have any longevity I don't think it can give everything away too easily.

Yeah that makes sense. It would get rather dull if it became to easy.

    Very good point this is.

Whilst it is true that the game may be too easy if transferring evolved Pokémon gave more candy, it always feels like a big disappointment finding something awesome like a Golbat or Pidgeot in the wild and then ending up wishing it had been a 10 CP Pidgey instead. I do wish they'd have some kind of reward for transferring away evolved Pokémon as it feels quite pointless to go through the effort of catching them half the time but I can understand why they don't.

Honestly, I don't catch evolved Pokémon that I already have for this reason. Unless they have a fairly high CP, there just wouldn't be any point. They're going to be harder to catch, use up more Poké Balls, and give the same reward. I just let 'em go.

It's pretty disappointing to be honest. Even Poketubers believe that there should be more rewards for higher evolution stages.

Professor Willow is a scam artist.

At the very least, it should be two candies for a second stage Pokémon, three for a third stage.

I think that you are right, but in that way, should be difficult to find and catch evoluted pokémon

Getting a Gyarados is a bit frustrating... I mean you have to catch 101 Magikarps to get it and Magikarp seems to be quite rare in my area at least... I've only caught 1 so far...

And I also think that trading second stages should give more than one candy (2nd gives 2 and 3rd 3). Wouldn't make the progress a lot faster since you don't find 2nd stage pokemons as often.

I agree that evolved pokemon should give 2 or 3 candies. Especially for the fact i'm lucky if i can find 1 pokemon of a species, forget about 2 or 3 or even 20 you need to evolve some pokemon. Not sure how people already have fully evolved pokemon unless they were lucky enough to find them in the wild.

I did a mass evolution last night and noticed something I hadn't known before.
When you evolve a Pokémon, you do get one piece of candy for that line in return. I've never seen a "+1 [Pokémon] Candy" pop up any time I've evolved anything, so I wonder how many people actually know this.

This does kind of offset the low reward for transferring a Pokémon that you've evolved, but doesn't really address transferring second stage Pokémon that you've caught.

I noticed this a couple of days ago too. At first I thought I was just imagining it but I tried a few times and it always worked. It's cool that there is a small little bonus for these evolutions but feels strange to not even mention it when it happens haha. Makes you wonder if this is actually intended behaviour or if there's a glitch?
