For some reason, my dad can't seem to get my sound working. He tried to download the sound software but it still says there is no sound. I don't understand why it wont install.

Here are some screenshots that will help you understand what I'm talking about:

I mean maybe I need a new soundcard...but I doubt it. Does anyone have any advice on how to solve this problem?

Oh...and no, Dell only made things worse...but that's another story. XD

Let me ask you, what sound peripherals or features came with the computer or do you use?

I'm going to ask a few specific questions.
    1. Are your sound ports directly on the motherboard its self or does the sound ports come from something that looks like it's a card. The card would be located where your expansions slots are on the back of the computer.
    2. Did you check all your media players that the sound might be turned down? Did you check windows sound.
    3. Is the plug for the sound in the right port/hole.
    4. Do you have another pair of speaks you can try?

    Um...that I wouldnt know. I'm not much a computer person. x_x

I'd hafta ask my dad about it. =/

Mewthree: I can turn up my music. If it had to do with my media players...then it wouldnt look the way it did in screens one and two.

Have you tried running your serial number though dells website and pulling the driver from there? I have a Dell I saved from scrap and found there websites help/driver area helpful. Also there forums are good for odd questions.
