4th Gen Sour grapes?

    I know there's already a complaints thread, but this isn't exactly that. I've noticed that a lot of people who were wanting a GSC remake are bashing HGSS now. Imo, it's great. So, for supporters of HGSS before and after partial/full playing(I'm still partial xD), what were your disappointments?

    The only real gripe that I can think of off the top of my head is the Ecruteak music. =/. Awful. Ruined my favorite Johto theme from the original. The rest of the music is great to me, though. =D.

    Lol, I havnt got the game yet but from what i've seen there's nothing I dislike about it and im really looking forward to playing it, I love all the music aswell. :).

    No, I'm highlighting certain things that disappointed me, not complaining. There's a difference, believe it or not.

    actually, they are exactly the same unless you dive into it philsophically, which isn't necessary
     
    I get where they were going with the theme, but it's doesn't really fit. Piano would sound a lot better imo. But I give them credit for trying something new.

    Yes, it's just my personal opinion. I get how it's traditional. Just not my cup of tea, I guess.

    Edit: For example, it just doesn't flow as well in the new theme. Having the instruments they used doesn't make it sound nice and melodic and pleasing to the ear. I can't put it into words otherwise, basically.

    that's exactly what i was gonna say- cianwood is like a toned down ecruteak, and it holds the same tune as the old Ecruteak :)

    Although the music is possibly the worst part of HG/SS, there are only a select few route/town/battle musics that sound good. Like Eckruteak I don't even know what that is ... Lugia and Ho-Oh themes I can't even understand what that SOUNDS LIKE, it has no Pokemon feel and I just don't get ... the point ... of their ... battle music .. and ugh the Rival encounter theme hurts my stomach ...

    Whatever enough ranting, this is going to become a complaints thread (damn I just made it one by adding my complaints in =\)

    piano would sound better? i found this music online- do u like this (it's not in the games, but it is piano Ecruteak :)

    Then don't make it one. Easier said then done, but eh.

    Yeah, I get exactly what you mean. I just mean the original melody of the song, the instrument change takes some getting used to I guess. I'd rather have some kind of instrument, basically. But like I said before, I get where they were going making the theme that way.

    I've heard many redone themes with piano, been there done that. and I prefer it over the official revamp.

    Yeah, exactly. I'm not big on nostalgia, which is why I like HGSS, it feels like a fresh game, yet it isn't, and there's still some nostalgia involved. I get how I can hear the 8-bit theme if I'd like, I'm just saying that I was disappointed in the default.

    Maybe, but they would have put Kris back in if they totally listened to complaints, too.

    My only complaint is that there is no built-in time warping device that could be used to make the localization team move faster. I guess they're taking their time for a good reason though. The longer they wait, the more bugs can be exploited and therefore discovered/stabilized for the international releases.

    no complainy- opinions, not complaining- my OPINION is that this game is great- the only thing that actually bugs me is that every time you use an HM, you have to go through the Pokemon showing up on the screen out of the pokeball thing (sorry, not that clear- you know what i'm talking about, right?)
     
    Yeah, I get exactly what you mean. "Easier use of HMs" is what we heard before leak/release? My you-know-what.
     
    i have none the game was ok better that the last one if you ask me i actually ave fun
