after posting a thread earlier and recieving some very good criticism, i have spent the last few days re-breeding my team for perfect IVs. after doing this ive decided i dont like the idea of using an alakazam as my special sweeper anymore and i am open to any suggestions as which pokemon can fit into that role on my team. i am not even set on a sweeper, but would prefer something that can hit from the special side.

some pokemon that i like are Vaporeon, Starmie, and Greninja. this is my team so far

Actually, Starmie might be a good Special Pokemon, being of the Water- and Psychic-types. Starmie has a great Speed rating and Sp. Atk. Perhaps it's also good for using as a Rapid Spinner to clear hazards as well as a good Special Attacker for you. Maybe you can try this?

    Nature: Modest
    Item: Leftovers
    Ability: Analytic/Natural Cure
    EVs: 252 Sp. Atk/ 4 HP/ 252 Speed
    Hydro Pump/Surf
    Thunderbolt/Psyshock/Psychic
    Ice Beam
    Rapid Spin

Analytic is recommended because of Starmie's great speed, as well as the investments put into its Speed here. It boosts the power of most damaging moves to 130% damage if the user moves before the target. Natural cure is good, but Analytic might be better if you're really looking to hit hard.

Starmie must always use a Timid nature to outspeed as much as possible, and Psyshock is the preferred STAB because it let it get past Blissey. Natural Cure is still Starmie's preferred ability because it's too fast for Analytic.

Oh, whoops. I must have read the forum wrong, I thought Analytic took effect if the user moved after the opponent... in that case, Natural Cure is the better one. And you said Psyshock is preferred for STAB, so this is what the set should look like?

    Nature: Timid
    Item: Leftovers
    EVs: 252 Sp. Atk./ 4 HP/ 252 Speed
    Ability: Natural Cure
    Hydro Pump/Surf

Psyshock and Thunderbolt are equally viable options in the second slot. You're right that Analytic makes the user stronger if it moves after the opponent, but Starmie tends to get the first hit in a lot of the time, so it's too fast to really take advantage of the ability.
