In the script section PokemonCompiler, search for the phrase if value.length>10. Change the number.
It's unlikely this limit will ever be raised in Essentials, because many aspects of the GUI depend on the Pokémon species names never being longer than 10 characters. Letting them be longer would require changes to the GUI, and there are at least a few places where it is extremely difficult (if not impossible) to make it fit.
