    I don't see this challenge around (or active) so here it is!

    Pokemon Speed Challenge


    Requierments:

    • Any Pokémon Game OR Rom, this includes (R/B/Y/G/S/C/R/S/E/FR/LG/D/P/PT/HG/SS/B/W)
    • Emulator OR console (Speed button NOT allowed as it's an unfair advantage to those using a console)
    • Patience :).
    Basically, the aim of the challenge is to complete your chosen game in the fastest time.
    Due to the different lengths of storylines I will catergorize games into each reigon

    I think "no TASing" should be added. The final time should be real-time, not in-game time, to prevent soft resetting and/or TASing. Colosseum and XD should be considered for speedrunning as well.

    BTW, what are the exact completion points for each game? FR/LG are separate, so I assume Sevii counts toward the final time for them. What about the Battle Frontier in E/Pt/HG/SS?

    It's basically when you enter the Hall Of Fame (Defeat the Elite Four)
    You can carry on Post-storyline past the Elite four (Sevii Islands, Battle Frontier Ect.) which is an optional choice.

    Also, can you explain what 'TASing' is please?

    And about Colosseum and XD, I might add them once people start to sign-up for the Challenge.
    I may also add Spin-Off games (MD, Ranger ect.)
     
    TAS stands for Tool-Assisted Speedrun. It basically means a speedrun that uses savestates to finish the game faster from the view of the in-game timer. In the case of Pokémon, this means catching a mon on the first Poké Ball, getting critical hits when you need them to OHKO, or anything else that needs luck-manipulation. An example TAS of Sapphire can be found here.
     
    This seems nice
    I've once tried to make a Speed+Starter only, i guess a time of 12 hours, gameplay-time, should be enough for Emerald (i've made it 9h54min with mudkip, with little-to-no soft reseting, it ended up at level 73)

    I just realized that the OP isn't participating, which is against the rules. :( I won't lock this, I'll let just this one thread slide, but next time you make a challenge, just remember you have to participate. Now, if you'd like to go ahead and sign yourself up on this one...

    I know, I was waiting for a few people to actually sign-up before I actually signed myself up.
    I wasn't aware that I had to sign up either :nervous:.
