Is there any point to this move?

I think its just to make magikarp as useless as possible and hard to train

it makes Magikarp, Hoppip, Skiploom and Jumpluff feel very special

    :t354:TG

There was a rumour back in the day that Splash was the only move that was super-effective or OHKO'd Mew, Mewtwo, or various (unreal) Pokegods.

Its there so Magicarp can actually learn a move so you dont battle it and it knows nothing

its like free EXP when you vs a magikarp/hoppip etc in the wild... lol

    Wee, 23 EXP. :O

Its just to make Magikarp hard to train until he gets Tackle, and later Flail, or he evolves. I think it's probably a space filler, so that Magicrap isn't completely useless. (Though I'd prefer Struggle imo)

splash doesnt have to be useless. its better to have splash than no move (-> struggle) in some situations, since you dont hurt yourself with splash. f.e. if your enemy is poisoned or burned, you can theoretically kill him only using splash from this point and lose a lot less hp since pokemon that know splash wont do enough damage with struggle to kill the enemy faster xD
but apart form this, i have to accept the fact that splash sucks =[

Hay guyz, i herd taht if u use splash 40 times in teh same battle, it creates a titalwave taht destroys all teh pokeymans on teh feild. :DD

...or something to that effect. I heard a lot of crazy rumors when I was a kid. XD

You can't believe that can you, no matter how many times you use splash it does NOTHING, not even if you use it 40 times, IT CANT DO ANYTHING, besides when it runs out and the pokemon uses struggle than its not really useless, until it dies.

If i every want to get a garydos when i have a magikarp that only knows splash i just put it first in the party and then withdraw it so it gains some exp until it learns tackle...

ZOMG, you're genius, how'd you think up that techinique T.T

Hmmm...idk...where did you get you stuck-up prickish attitude from???

I think i got the technique from the same area as your attitude....or maybe the area next to it...hmmm.

Woah kiddos. Let's not fight. (:

But back on subject, splash was probably just put on to make it that much more tedious to train a Magikarp. xD

That is true but i never had much of a problem training magikarp... hmmm
