Giovanni was Silver's father...It'll be interesting to find out how to activate that event. It'd also be kind of cool if the manga elabourated on this some.

It was intriguing, because it looked like kind of an emotional scene, which I've never seen in a Pokemon game.

you have to go to the radio tower( Whitney is in there), get the radio card (yes, yes, no, yes, no) and Whitney will go to her gym- pretty straight forward from there :P
