I'll probably download the Days ST to iTunes via my magical, non-Limewire methods. 8D I'm so psyched for this game- only Larxene days left until it's released over here. o:

My Mp3 Player is over 80% video game music. 15% is anime openings/endings, and 5% American Music. So I've got some Kingdom Hearts on it, particularly Simple & Clean PlanItB Mix (Full Version), Sanctuary, The Other Promise (KHIIFM Roxas Battle), Rage Awakened (KHIIFM Terra? Battle), Fate of the Unknown (KHIIFM Birth by Sleep Secret Video). I have the entire OSTs for Kingdom Hearts & Kingdom Hearts II, including the Final Mixes. I don't have CoM/reCoM because most of the songs are just recycled from Kingdom Hearts I & II. I do plan on getting the unique songs from it eventually.

AkuRoku, if you find a place to download the OST for Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, please send me a link to it.

Also, on a fun little note, in celebration of 358/2 Days up-coming release, I set my Roxas Play Arts Figure in a special pose based on the cinematic battle between him and Sora in Kingdom Hearts II. He has one Keyblade stabbed onto the ground with the other pointing out, like when he disarmed Sora during their battle. However, it isn't perfect since he isn't in his cloak and I don't have the Oblivion & Oathkeeper Play Arms so he just has the Kingdom Key he came with as well as the Kingdom Key Sora came with.

Speaking of which, I noticed that Oathkeeper is a different size in Kingdom Hearts II & 358/2 Days than it is in the original Kingdom Hearts. In KHI, it is noticeably shorter than Oblivion while in KHII & Days, it is the same size, or closer to it.

I've got it. It's the one titled 358-2 Days.rar. :>

I don't feel bad linking to it because it's just a rip (and someone else's arrangement of Dirge of the Fourteenth) and I don't really expect Square-Enix to ever release it. :< They didn't release COM's original soundtrack, after all.

I simply use a program that takes the audio from YouTube videos and converts it into an mp3 file- the quality isn't as good as if you bought it, but it's still pretty neat. ^_^

And hmmm... I never noticed that. o:

Thanks Lightning.

They didn't release CoM's, but they did release reCoM's soundtrack as part of the KH Complete Soundtrack, which had every song in or created for the Kingdom Hearts series up to Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix+. The most likely reason that they never released it alone is because of the reused tracks.

Actually, I figure the reason they didn't realize it is because the music is just so tinny compared to the other OSTs they've ever released. XD; I do know about Re:COM's OST release though. :P I remember flipping out when I was listening to it and realized they'd added an extra track for Marluxia meaning there was probably an extra fight in the battle. (I hadn't quite beaten Re:COM yet when the OST was released.)

I managed to get ahold of the English ROM for Days, which somehow got leaked, but I'm really trying not to play it. I did the first three missions or so - which lasts around 5 minutes each because it's all tutorial - and then stopped because I don't want to go any further until my real pre-order comes in on Tuesday. I will say though that at the start of the game the default camera settings sucks. Ether you use the touch screen the swivel the camera, which sounds nice on paper but is actually incredible hard to control the speed of or move while doing it. You could also press Select and move it that way, but you still have to stop moving. After the 2nd mission or so though the game lets you use Config Mode where you can switch to Camera Mode B and move the camera with L and R just like you would in Crisis Core or KH1, which is a ton easier. Then to Lock On, you press R twice rapidly. Then it's really easy to manage and feels like a normal KH game. I stopped playing after that and I'm not going to load the ROM until I have my actual precious copy in my hands on Tuesday~!

...they changed the default camera? o_O I swear the Japanese uses the L+R mode as default since I don't remember changing it. You can *also* use the touch screen to change it since both work but... idk. That's weird.

v_v I'm tempted to grab the ROM too and if I hadn't lost my R4, I would, but I'm content to wait. Fidgety, but content. XD

I don't feel so alone. :D

I just watched the first part of the English Days, and I'm kinda disappointed they got lazy with the mouth movements again, like in Re:Chain. I like where in the first two games they actually bothered to edit the lips to match the speech, but now they don't seem to do it anymore. It looks kinda awkward (especially because I can look at their lips and see the Japanese words they were saying). Oh well, I'll get over it.

It might just be that it's really hard to do. D: In KH1 and KH2, I'm pretty sure all the nice cutscenes (ie, the voiced ones) weren't pre-rendered at all so if they did want to change the lip movement, it wasn't too much of a problem. They could just change a few variables in the game's code or... however it works. XD; But I think in Re:Chain, the cutscenes were all pre-rendered, so they were just movie files that would have to be completely reanimated in order to change that. It's hard to explain but I know for certain that 358/2 Days' cutscenes are pre-rendered because the DS doesn't have the technology to serve graphics like that on its own in real-time. D: So it's not nearly as easy to tweak the cutscenes. I'm not surprised that they didn't since it'd delay the games even more. (You'd have to do all sorts of extra quality testing afterwards again and I'm sure their handheld budget isn't the same as their main game budget. D:)

Lightning's right, the cutscenes for 358/2 Days are all pre-rendered, meaning that they would have had to re-record them rather than just edit the lip movements as they can do when the scenes are in real-time, just with the Higher Resolution Character Models. I don't really know with reCoM's, although it may be that they wanted to quickly release it since the PS2 was at the end of its lifespan and they probably also wanted the game released by the Holiday Season to increase the sales of a game released for a "Dead System". I didn't really notice or mind the out of sync lip movements usually.

Also, I just got my call from GameStop about picking up Days in the morning, I'm so excited!

Thanks for the clear up guys. That does make sense, seeing as how they are pre-rendered. But how were the cutscene texts changed? Is it just a simple text layer on top of the cutscene that can be changed in the coding? Because if not then they would have to go back and change the whole cutscene, requiring the source file. Ughhh technology is so complicated.

They texted me. I guess they got too lazy to get "Ashley from Gamestop" to leave a message. Or maybe they'll do both. :D
Edit: You said morning, yes? What time does your Gamestop open? I don't know if all open at the same time or not (they most likely do)

I assume it's a text overlay. Regardless, it'd be much easier to change something like subtitles over animation.

:< I haven't gotten a call from EB yet. Still gonna head over there tomorrow regardless but I'll be v. sad if it's delayed. ;o;

It better not be. I didn't get a call but I pre-ordered it and payed the full price so it better be there.

In Crisis Core they fixed the lip-syncing, so I guess those weren't pre-rendered. However if you take FFXII, some parts are fixed while some other parts are not. it's hard to notice, but there. In AC, the whole thing wasn't fixed. However the translators often pick the words so that they sound good and at least sort of match the japanese mouth movements. It's kind of hard to do, but they've all been okay so far.

the non pre-rendered scenes in The Last Remnant sucks, because although there are no, shall we say FF quality CGI scenes, half of the game they sinc the lips, and the other half they just move up and down like in FFX. It annoys me to hell, especially since TLR is on a current-gen system(360, and PC's). Maybe they fixed this for the Pc version, I dunno. Back on KH, I'm going straight to to Gamestop after school tomorrow carrying my metal mini-keyblade and wearing my KH2 shirt. I can't wait! :P

You guys don't know how jealous I am right now. ;-; Seriously- the next ten days are gonna be torture for me. XD;

Well, the subtitles aren't part of the video, they are laid over the prerendered movies in the same way they are laid over real time movies. Not to mention that most companies in video games & anime have wordless versions of movies, such as openings and endings, for when something is released in another language.
My GameStop opens at 10:30 am.

Its usually simple to tell the pre-rendered scenes from the in-game ones, such as CG graphics or graphics not used in-game, like the PS2 quality graphics used in Days' cutscenes. However, others can be hard to recognize, such as the scene before the 1000 Heartless Battle in Kingdom Hearts II, although it looks like real time, it is actually prerendered so that all the character models could fit in the scene. You can tell its prerendered because of Sora using the Kingdom Key no matter what Keyblade is currently equipped. On the PSP, there are telltale signs of prerendered scenes using real-time models because they will look "JPEGie" for some reason.

Also, don't fret over not getting a call. I didn't get called at all before Dissidia Final Fantasy came out even though I had it reserved.

Wow. Ok that makes alot of sense. I never realized that 1000 Heartless thing. All the other cutscenes match your current keyblade, and since that one didn't, it was definitely pre-rendered.

Don't worry. I won't brag about it. Too much.....:D

Yeah, they had to have it as a prerendered scene because there were too many character models appearing on screen at once of differing sizes, not to mention that Sora used his High Resolution Model, which takes up more space. Also, if you watch the scene, you'll notice two models of enemies that don't appear at all during normal play. One, very obvious, example are the two unnamed Behemoth Heartless, although they appear in the game's code, when activated, they simply stand there, but can still be stood on. Another enemy type that appears in the battle, but not the game's code, are the Wyvern enemies from KHI & CoM/reCoM. Here is a pic showing the Behemoth enemies, although the Wyvern's aren't in the picture, as far as I'm aware.
