Stall Team: My First Attempt

The underlined contradicts itself.

85 Defenses are decent, but in T-Tars case its defenses are above average.

May I ask how they contradict themselves? That's hypocritical. Averange and decent are two DIFFERENT words. :/ It's defenses ARE great, 110 and 100 base defenses? Seriously.

You said initially, that its defenses are average and then went on to say its defenses are not decent, which implies they are bad.

85 base defence last time i checks is not "zomgsuxorz n shud nevar be used evar". its actually decent. Dugtrios defenses are phail however, there is a monumental difference here.

Above average actually means great or good.

You also said that it doesnt have a "stall move" so doesnt fit on a stall team, Richard Steel runs a stall team and he used a Metagross =/.

Meh. I'm just saying that should be the LAST thing on your mind with a stall team in play. But yeah, they are bad, which is what's I'm trying to say. Bear with me here.

Frankly, this doesn't look like a stall team at all. Actually, other stall teams will stall the hell out of you. I support getting rid of Slowbro for Starmie, as it gives a better answer to some of the common threats, and you really need the speed. You can consider using a Scarf Starmie if you're that afraid of Weavile, but I wouldn't do this.

Im not trying to be an ass here, 85 base defense isnt bad, i dont know why everyone seems to be saying this, it can take more hits than people expect. Its by no means bad, and its not suckage, however i agree its not "Skarmory or Blissey" like. Thats my point, its "reasonably bulky" is maybe what i should have said and with recover starmie is a pain to take out, mine for example took a Dragon Danced Life Orb'd Fire Punch from a D-Nite AND then and DD'd Life Orb'd Earthquake from the same D-Nite. Heck i even survived a Pursuit from a CB Weavile, granted i didnt switch out as i predicted it, but if that doesnt say something, i dont know what will...

Dugtrios defenses are bad for example, but starmies, definitely not.

My main point is that its good on stall teams, its a Garchomp, Gyarados, Mixape counter, which stall teams have great problems with and it can spin, no other pokemon can counter those aforementioned threat and spin with the same moveset.

But is it just me or is he taking no notice of advice, still no spinner, unneeded replacements and just general lack of any walling power to common threats. Which all in all is fail tbh.

Uh, maybe because I haven't been on? And I don't understand how these are "unneeded" replacements when I have barely made any yet. My actual team hasn't even been touched yet; those were just some ideas. BTW, I don't see how having a Blissey is "general lack of Walling power".

Well, since I still lack any real Physical Walling, I could add a Forry or Donphan for spinning.

In the meantime, I gtg now. I haven't read through all the suggestions yet, but when I do, my team is going to go throught some serious editing.

BTW, if you're going to make changes to my team, please read the whole thread, otherwise I get the same suggestions sometimes.

Dark_Azelf...calm...:P

What we're trying to say is that by a stall standard its defenses are not going to cut it, it's as simple as that. On that scale, it IS frail (though in general it isn't).

As for your claim that it's good on stall teams, I see where you're coming from as it can counter so much, but I would disagree. It dies to SO much and can't stall, it's practically counterintuitive. I like Starmie on about every team but a stall team. You could say it's personal preference and all, but on every stall team I've put it on, it has seemed really out of place. Maybe it's just me, but Starmie has been total suckage on stall teams for me.

Also keep in mind Tentacruel, Forretress, Donphan, or even Blastoise can fit into stall teams very easily and spin and do a fair share of countering things. Actually, Blastoise can beat Mixape and if you alter its set and EVs, Gyarados and Garchomp as well.

But yeah, we'll have to wait until darkknight responds...

EDIT: And he did while I was posting this. How about that.

And about Forretress, I can tell you it's awesome for stall teams. I run a Forretress on almost every stall team I make, 3rd or 4th generation.

I apologize for that, i got a little overheated.

Its just that the first post didnt seem updated since i saw it. Bliss needs help btw so dont just rely on that.

Forry or donphan would be nice, now, this is what i mean, your covering weaknesses now. Forry would probable be better, it lessens your weavile weakness.

Still need something for Ape, how bout Tentacruel, provides Toxic spikes and you can run Knock off >> Rapid Spin.

Yeah, I got a little overheated, too. Lol, I edited my post a split second after you posted this.

I don't have time to edit my team right now. I'll probably have time at night (it might be night for you guys, but I live on the West Coast) to fix it, but all suggestions are appreciated.

Slowbro simply isn't sturdy enough. Many, MANY things 2HKO it, so it can't switch in easily at all. I'm gonna take Anti's advice and add a Forry, but, due to it not having any reliable recovery moves, I'll need another Physical Wall (or at least a Mixed Wall) that doesn't need to take up a Moveslot for RS and SR/Spikes. I could pass Wishes, but doing so doesn't always work. Any ideas for another wall?

Starmie does counter a lot of stuff and has the added bonus of screwing over Taunters, but, now that I have Forry, it seems useless. I guess I'll use some Wall over it, unless someone gets an idea.

OK, so, so far, it's

Lead-???
MixPert
RSer-Forry
???
Blissey
Wish-Jirachi

...meaning that I have two empty slots, one a lead. I'm thinking that one of the slots should be taken up with an extra Physical Wall or at least a Mixed wall (but not a Special Wall), but the other slot is still undecided. Any ideas?

NOTE: I won't actually edit the first page until I come up with a complete team, so don't yell at me for not making any changes.

Honestly on stall teams Vaporeon is just a better Starmie that has Wish instead of Rapid Spin. As for Forretress, Wish support does work for it if it has help walling (Fighting resist...) Also Swampert is a tremendous lead.

OK then, I'll move Swampy to the front. I still have 2 empty slots, though. I don't need a Vaporeon, because I have Wish support already, so that's out of the picture....any ideas?

You work alot on making sure that fire does not do too much damage, when you only have 1 pokemon that is weak to fire, and all the rest are resistant to fire. So yea, but still pretty good team.

Yeah, yeah, still need suggestions for missing slots.

EDIT: I'll work on some new teams for now. I might revive this, but probably not for a while. This thread can die now. I got bored of this team....I'll probably start on it again in a few days.

I don't mean to be annpoying, but it would really ehlp if you'd edit the first post, just showing what you have currently. Seeing the old team...it's quite a pain trying to find out what slots have been fiklled by what and what is missing. It's just really hard to follow, probably why this almost died.
