Red hack: Star Beasts - Asteroid Version

It's a 1% encounter, so it may take a while. It's more common later in the game if you don't have the patience for that, though!
Sorry for the late reply been working this week.

Ah thank you for the info I've manage to get dragleam in Viridan forest

Been playing through Star Beasts for the past week and a half in-between working, and I've really been enjoying all the new beasts so far! My only gripe is that the earlygame feels extremely heavy on Dark-types, I counted at least five distinct Dark-type lines before even reaching Cerulean City... and even outside of that, it felt like everyone and their mom gets Bite as a coverage move, anyway. I get that Psychic was problematic in Gen 1, but this overcorrection seemed like going a bit overboard, at least to me? It also prevented me from really digging into a few species I may have been interested in running otherwise, to avoid excessive type overlap. Kindergard looked really cool, and I absolutely ADORE how cute Tinieddi is, but Slashopper is my heart and I refuse to take it off my team, lmao.

Had a quick question too, when is the "Dark Soul" item accessible? I've seen several mentions of it in-game from NPCs, and I mildly spoiled myself by peeking at the included documentation for a couple of beasts on my team, but I've only seen Steely Gene and Moon Stone thus far. I'm also still fairly early in the game (coming up to Rock Tunnel), so it's possible I either haven't gotten far enough, or accidentally walked right past it.

EDIT: I've also noticed a fairly minor bug, where inspecting beasts in the overworld will sometimes give the wrong Seen data in the Stardex. For example, I don't have Seen data for the caveman evolution or the various evolved forms of Flewnicorn, but I mysteriously have data for Canghoulit (which I'm not even sure you can battle this early in the game?) as well as this melty cheese-looking beast called Verbeden.

The "Soul" items are sold in Lavender Town. Also, strange that the dex glitch is still occurring, we thought we had that fixed.

Oh my god, this hack was incredible. It's the first time I've completed a gen 1 hack and I had a blast.

Keep it up!
Spoiler: Hall of Fame

PS: Found a soft-lock, but don't know if it already existed in RBG. You can get stuck at the fire gym before you've gotten the key. If an NPC is behind you while you interact with the door, the game forces you to keep interacting with the door.

Very kind words! As to the softlock, that probably(?) happens in vanilla too.

I also found a bug. In Diglett's tunnel

Noted. Fixed for next version of the patch on Github.

Also, Gen 2 is not happening for a long time. Almost certainly not this decade.

Also, found another bug:

Bizarre. I wasn't able to replicate this glitch, but I'll keep it in mind.

Noticed steel types can get poisoned, even if they are immune to poison type damaging moves. Is this on purpose?

Thinking of checking this hack out
Quick question though, is there a physical/special split or does the type still define if the move is physical or special?

It works the way gen 1 does, so all Steel moves are physical, all Dark moves are special, and so on.

I'm having trouble catching certain Pokemon, like Oyma and the sleeping Pokemon. They keep dodging the ball, and they say I need to weaken or distract them. But I weaken them plenty, paralyze them, and it still says this. Do I need to use ultra balls on these pokemon?

I changed that message so that it was less vague than the original, but yes. If you're still getting that message when a beast is at low health, just keep throwing balls and use the highest catch rate balls you have.

Hello @Soul Valor, I want to ask about
Spoiler:
Thanks and it's a great romhack
