Red hack: Star Beasts - Asteroid Version

Worked on over the course of half a decade, Star Beasts is a Gen 1 dex overhaul and homage to the first generation of Pokémon games.

Started as a passion project to make a playable version of Vast Fame's Shi Kong Xing Shou for English speaking audiences, Star Beasts became its own project with entirely new fakemon designs.

Some of the new features are as follows:
    • A completely overhauled soundtrack! Almost none of the music from the original games remains!
    • An overhauled Pokedex, complete with backsprites, that fixes balance issues and replaces uglier designs and makes older evolutionary families more consistent.
    • Even more overhauled movesets, with even more new moves!
    • The Steel and Dark type!
    • New areas and new in-game events!
    • New types of trainers with different rosters and improved AI!
    • New dialogue, including getting rid of references to "Pokemon." (Unless the team forgot, oops!)
    • Rebalancing of the game to make it more accessible to newcomers, including plenty of NPCs that give you hints on where to find rare Star Beasts! And, as if that weren't enough, there's documentation on every Beast! (Although the game is best experienced blind, use your discretion!)
    • Various quality of life improvements, such as an experience bar!

How do you even make progress in this hack? I tried grinding for Experience with my Water-Type Starter, and I keep getting pummeled.

The water type starter learns Wrap at level 6, which works under gen 1 mechanics, which means if it lands, the opponent can't move. Try using that until you get Water Gun at level 9.

I remember playing a hack called Star beast: Meteor version
    Is this an upgraded version?

Might replay it on my free time.
    Is this the final version?
This isn't the final final version, but it's the last version of the game that'll take place in Kanto. We eventually plan to release a 3.0 "Comet Version" that takes place in a custom region, and that'll be the final "major" release of the game, though we may still add content to it in the future.

is there an exp share/exp all/lucky egg?
To answer all your questions, the Dex rewards are the same as in vanilla Red, the Exp. Share functions the way it does in the modern games, and shinies aren't currently implemented at this point in time.

Its requirements are the same as Gen 1: You need to have caught 50 Pokemon (Star Beasts in this case) and talk to the Aide on the second floor of the building on Route 15.

Incredible, you can really feel the love and dedication put into this game. Thank you for this work of art.

Hello just wanted to ask? How does one find a Dragleam in viridian forest either it's just chance or it's something else? Silly question I know

It's a 1% encounter, so it may take a while. It's more common later in the game if you don't have the patience for that, though!
