Sorry for making another thread but i was wondering if starmie would ever work as a wall(Yeah i know:P).I am going to try it and see how it turns out and this is what im thinking of

    Starmie@lefties
    Ability:Natural Cure
    Nature:Bold/Calm
    EVs:252 HP/ 126 Defense/ 126 Sp.Defense/ 6 Speed
    -Cosmic Power
    -Recover
    -Surf
    -Toxic(??????HELP??????)

This probably sound riducolous but if you have some suggestions id love to here from you.
You guys must be thinking "WTF IS HE TALKING ABOUT!!!!!HE IS CRAZY TO EVER THINK THIS COULD WORK!!!YOU CRAZY!!"...am i right or am i right?

You can make Starmie a defensive attacker, but it will never be a wall. It doesn't have the HP to pull it off.

    Starmie @ Leftovers
    Ability: Natural Cure
    EVs: 172 HP / 80 Def / 200 Spd / 16 SAtk / 40 SDef
    Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
    - Ice Beam / Thunderbolt
    - Rapid Spin
    - Recover
    - Surf
Your pick between Ice Beam and Thunderbolt. I prefer Ice Beam to attack the multitude of Dragon Attackers that roam around.

yeah i figured you guys would say that but i really want to try and see how this works out...i really do.But what nature would you guys prefer...Bold or Calm??I already have an evd trained starmie(timid)but i wanna see how it turns out as a wall(probably not good).

yea.. the max stats that you can get pertaining to defenses are:
    HP 324
    and 295 on either\or defense (in a + nature)
and 269 on either\or in a neutral affecting nature

you can take the hit... but don't depend on that.. I'm more partial to getting good IVs in defense and using it as a special sweeper that knows rapid spin for incase...

Playa, what is it exactly that you plan to do with that build? Spam Cosmic Power and Recover, using Surf every once in a while? That won't work. Walls are supposed to take hits, yes. But they're also supposed to deal damage. A wall that sits there and buffs is either going to be Phazed, stalled out of PP, or set up against. Basically, Starmie would be a filler Pokemon, not doing anything. You'd be better off replacing her with something that can deal damage- like a Special attacking Starmie.

i have one but i want to try something different with it....besides starmie has 100 base sp.attack so its pretty good.

if you're looking for a decent rapid spinner with defenses... try a Claydol.. they're great for utility, setting up weather\trick room, pseudo-passing.... and if you need to switch out in a jiffy... use explosion.. haha.

Starmie can take a good number of hits even without a single Def/SpDef EV. A few things I've seen her survive from full health:

    - An Earthquake from Garchomp (un-boosted)
    - A Pursuit from Weavile (not switching out)
    - A Sucker Punch from Adamant Choice Band Dugtrio
    - Earthquake from maxed Attack Swampert
    - Dark Pulse from Spiritomb
    - ThunderPunch from Metagross

So she is quite bulky in and of herself.

And that's without a single HP EV, to say the least.

Mu suggestion is to go with the Special Sweeper moveset (maybe with some EVs in HP), and use her bulkiness rather as a convenience, not a primary reason.

And I've learned from experience that she doesn't make a very good Rapid Spinner. Claydol and Donphan outclass her by a long shot. But that shouldn't stop you from using her as a Rapid Spinner, it's just that Weavile makes her job so much more difficult, and if you're facing an experienced battler, and he switched Weavile in on a Rapid Spin, Starmie is toast no matter what.

yeah your right richard(always)and here is what starmies looks like

    Starmie@leftovers
    Ability:Natural Cure
    Nature:Bold
    EVs:252 HP/ 129 Defense/ 129 Sp.Defense
    -Cosmic Power
    -Recover
    -Surf
    -????

    And here are her stats
    HP:312
    Attack:147
    Defense:261
    Sp.Atk:208
    Sp.Def:238
    Speed:266
What do you guys think about this??

I've used one on NetBattle before. Its moves were rapidspin/recover/surf/reflect
If i'm not wrong it survived a bellydrumed Snorlax's attack. Can't remember if it was Earthquake or Return. Reflect also helps with Pursuit Weavile.

    The standard is

    Starmie@Leftovers
    127 HP / 120 SP.ATT / 216 SPEED or 200 HP / 120 SP.ATT / 190 SPEED
    Timid Nature
    - Surf
    - Ice Beam / Thunderbolt
    - Recover
    - Rapid Spin

Second move slot depends on what the rest of your ream fears

First EV spread outspeeds max speed Timid Gengar.

Second Ev spread allows it to be bulkier.

If you really want a Cosmic Power user, why don't you just use a Clefable or a Claydol?

Because they both can't regenerate without using Rest, and they don't pack any attacking power to strike down the Roarers / Whirlwinders.
And also because the main objective of Chinpoko Mon is to destroy the evil power.

85 base Def and SpDef, dude, in addition to 60 base HP. Starmie can take a hit, but she's in no way a wall.

Starmie is quick enough to get Cosmic Power in. Which almost boosts it to a 130 Defense/Sp.Def stat which can take a few hits. Recover makes it last longer.

It could work. But there are so many pokemon that can do this job better. And this strategy is taking a huge risk.

so i tried out my starmie for the first time....and it worked perfectly!!!!!!It took a thunderbolt after using only 1 cosmic power pretty good. And after 3 of them it took an outrage from a dragonite easily.(only 40 hp was loss).it was only the first match using him but im sure it will do good.

There are so many pokemon that can use Cosmic Power better than Starmie.

    Clefable and Claydol for instance.

I suggest you save Starmie for sweeping purposes and let another walling pokemon take care of Cosmic Power. Clefable would make a great Cosmic Power(er =D) since it only has one weakness,
