Start back from the beginning

So I downloaded GIMP about 4 hours ago and pretty much decided to play around with it:
Remember I've only been using GIMP for 4 hours and I'm still a beginner at GIMP
And yup I've been told a lot already to lower it down with the dodge

i've been using gimp for 3 years now..(:
very good for a beginner. make sure not to make it soo pixely and stuff. nice job.

Well, for four hours you're not too bad, you'd be still fiddling with options.
First of all, you should make them smaller because it's much easier to work with it that way, but you don't have to, it's just what I would recommend. Next I think a couple of them look too sharp, for example, this one:

The red parts look pixelated. Lastly, I always think a one pixel border always make the signature look neat.

Your best in my opinion is this:

Keep practicing and you'll gradually get better. :D
