I need to start a deck, I dont know where to start, Any ideas on what packs to buy from online or like the store? Also how do I balance my deck with trainer cards, pokemon, and energy cards? And can someone redirect me to "how to play the game"? I know how i think. I just want to see if im right.

yeh yeh yeh yeh yeh yeh

well i dropped out 4 a couple of years, and now im back into playing and just tuesday i thought... ill start a new deck, got some boosters and the dark rampage deck, learned to play with a friend, and 5 boosters and drillpoint later, the onlythings the same are:

skuntanks lot, tyranitars lot, and starapptors lot, even then ive taken out some of their pre-evolutions to balance it.

now it plays like a dream!!! :d So my advice is pick a themedeck or two that has yourchosen type/types and then have a play and see what feels right, change cards n w/e.

atm im using 24 energys, 27 pokemon and 9 trainers, i changed the balance around n my m8 was well patient so thanks to him. a bunch of games later, he gets served everythime! thats when i hit the balance! :D

You should first pick a type of pokemon or your favorite pokemon, then buy a starter deck involving something you like. ones you have that buy a couple of boosters to add your own touch or FLAVOR!!!!!.

If you need help go to Pokebeach.com, they have every pick of all the cards and there texts from the begining to today. even the ones that come out in japan.

If you want to start a deck start with deciding what two types of pokemon that you want because if you only have one type you deck wont come out that powerful

Actually, I disagree. There have been several mono-type decks that have been very powerful (early sets example: Rain Dance; more recently: BlastCatty and numerous Pokemon SP decks).
