    There's too damn many of them. If you ask me, there should be a news forum.
     
    It's a good idea, but this probably belongs in the Q&F forum...
     
    If the News Forum will be approved. News Forum would probably fit in Other-Chat Sub-Forum right?

    In my opinion, I think news threads belong in the Other Chat, because basically, it is other chat.
     
    But Let's wait for the Higher Staff if News Forum would be approved. I hope...

    Sorry, but I like to read what everyone is posting.

    If you don't like it, then why bother reading it?
     
    There would be no point in doing so. The point of OC is so that any subject that doesn't fit within the other boards, can be posted there.
    We don't need a News Board.

    There has been a high post count for news stories, but just force through it.
     
    I fail to see the issue with news threads anyway. News threads are PERFECT for generating discussion - why would we want to get rid of something that's providing active discussions in a forum that needs such? o_o
     
    Well, I definitely agree that a lot of the news threads up right now are useless. There just isn't any room for discussion when most of it is just "LOL HEY THIS PERSON DIED IN A SPECTACULAR FASHION". :| Maybe if we got some real current issues in there but a lot of the news is kind of... sensational stuff that leaves very little to talk about. I think that's what OP is getting at.
     
    I don't really mind news threads, I'm just really tired of [Tragic Incident here] just followed by the word 'Discuss'. The author doesn't even make their opinion on the matter. Well, what's there to discuss? That's a sad incident, there are 3290890 more out there, every post can always be summarized as 'that was stupid', 'that was sad', 'the world is sad'. Every single one of them. It'd be nice if there were more actual 'discussion' topics than just 'input' topics if you get what I'm saying.

    People, there are much better things to talk about than amusing cases of death, ok? I know they're out there and that you can find them. There have been some great news topics in OC about planets and even politics, find something besides death please.
     
    I think the problem is that most news threads are just spam or +1 threads full of pointless posts about a pointless topic.
